What is Druva Data Resiliency Cloud?

Druva Data Resiliency Cloud

Workforce mobility and the rise of cloud services is an essential part of any business, but it creates a number of challenges for IT. Data spread across devices and cloud services, unpredictable schedules, and varied network connections all complicate efforts to protect and govern enterprise information.

The Druva Cloud Platform (formerly Druva inSync & Druva Phoenix) provides unified data protection, management, and information governance across endpoints and cloud applications. Delivered as-a-service, the Druva Cloud Platform aims to simplify backup, archival, compliance, and device management to reduce the cost and complexity of protecting end user data, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve data visibility. With centralized management and self-help data recovery, the vendor states that users' mobile workforces are protected without impacting productivity.

Druva's value proposition:

No hardware, no software

  • Delivered as-a-service means leaving behind on-premises infrastructure, hardware refresh cycles and time consuming software maintenance.

Infinitely scalable
  • Built in the cloud, new capacity can be added to subscriptions on the fly without changes to backup settings, and without needing to purchase and install new appliances or software.

No maintenance windows

  • Druva maintains the data protection solution, not the customer; the platform is always up-to-date with the latest features.

Data Protection That’s Different

  • Druva’s SaaS data protection platform boasts less cost and complexity found in solutions that aren’t built for the cloud, while remaining secure, scalable and always available.

Druva is a lot easier to use and manage than Veeam ever was, plus it supports simple cloud backups. We initially moved from Veeam to HYCU, which we liked a lot, but then we discovered Druva shortly afterwards, which simplified the whole management and cloud backup process even further.

The cost of Druva Data Resiliency Cloud solution far better and decent compared to other tools out there. The comparison of the feature stack with that cost model is very important for key companies as they roll out many workloads into the system as they grow. I also differentiate Druva Data Resiliency Cloud feature stack with other tools and rate them higher because of seamless integration and the needs of the company.

Druva was the cost leader during our search for a cloud-native backup solution. We were pleasantly surprised with its speed and ease of use as well. We feel it was the best fit for our infrastructure.

We reviewed Veeam and Commvault. BUt Druva turned out be better during the POCs. They were also willing to negotiate deal with us and helped us close before the quarter end.The sales team was proactive. We had people inleadership who had used Druva in their previous organisation and they became the champion for Druva

  • Commvault Complete Data Protection and Metallic Database Backup
The ease of solution deployment and virtual proxy's configuration placed Druva Data Resiliency Cloud on top of compatible vendors. Druva Data Resiliency Cloud is also the only one of the three that offers 100% cloud protection, so it's the perfect fit for any team looking forward to having as few on-premise resources and as little data as possible to manage themselves.

Dell's Data Protection Suite was fine, but it was a solution selected by a previous management team. Some of the familiarity with managing it left with the prior team and we were faced with an opportunity to transition to a new backup/restore solution. I feel Druva improves on the management capabilities and user interface that Dell offered.

Having used acronis for backup previously this product is head and shoulders above the product. The ease of use of this product is create a feeder server on your VM environment and it can find the devices easily and quickly and allows you to install the server on any other server quickly is a game changer. It is incredibly easy and simple.

We previously were using Commvault for on-prem backups and moving over to Druva made for an easier to use and manage interface while still retaining the backups we needed.

We used the free Version of on prem backup exec and Druva has simplified and allows us to grow without adding resources to our teams while tripling our server count. Our team can easily manage backups and restore on demand from any location when requested. This makes late night restores very fast and easy from home or even on vacation if needed.

the service and solution is costly and out of budget and hence we had to select and go with Druva Data Resiliency Cloud which was very cost efficient and was doing the intented work which was needed that to backup data and protect against cyber attacks. Backup as a service at its best is Druva Data Resiliency Cloud

So we had to implement Veeam to backup some of our Azure resources and would prefer to have them in one platform. We are currently waiting for that availability to be added. Veeam is useful and easy as well but the ability to only have one platform is invaluable. I do prefer the Druva Data Resiliency Cloud product better than Veeam though.

Druva was the first backup and restore company that we ever worked with. Prior to this we always backed up data on local on premise storage. This led to a lot of attacks and corruption of data. Our experience with them right from Sales to implementation to Post sales support has been great. However we do see competitors in the market now providing unlimited storage for cloud apps which might cause us to re evaluate.

In the past I have used Mimecast for the archival function which is sort of a competitor to Druva Data Resiliency Cloud in that field. Druva Data Resiliency Cloud seems far ahead in its offering from the point of view of comprehensive backup policies, flexible modification of setting and easy retireval of data from the cloud. So we're quite happy with our decision.

When evaluating Druva Data Resiliency Cloud, we compared it against several market leaders. After extensive testing, we confirmed that Druva Data Resiliency Cloud stacks up well against these products due to the following features:
Ease of use
Simple to setup & configure
Eliminates up front cost, commitment and capacity planning Immutable by default
Flexible configuration options
Single management interface

Commvault was just as expensive, but not very intuitive. OneDrive was fine for basic backups but would have been difficult to implement firmwide in a robust solution that protected all of our production data. Neither product was a smooth end-user experience, and it was unclear how reliable the backup and restore times would be.

While making our decision we looked at both Druva and Rubrik. We liked Druva's interface better and members of our team were more familiar with the product.
Also, from a pricing and features-related point of view Druva came across as a more well-rounded solution, so we decided to proceed with them.

We evaluated both Druva and Rubrik during our vendor search. What made us choose Druva was the better pricing and quality of features that were vexing offered. It was a great fit for our business need of keeping our backups on-prem.
The proof of concept also went really well with Druva as compared to Rubrik's free trial, it's also a comparatively simpler solution.

While Veeam, Druva Data Resiliency Cloud and Rubrik are all great at what they do- Druva Data Resiliency Cloud is hands down the winner when it comes to being a completely cloud hosted solution. With Veeam and Rubrik, the backups sometimes get complicated because of the on-prem/cloud combination.

Druva Data Resiliency Cloud also provides a better GUI and pricing in our experience during proof of concepts, so it was an easy choice.
