What is Druva Data Resiliency Cloud?

Druva Data Resiliency Cloud

Workforce mobility and the rise of cloud services is an essential part of any business, but it creates a number of challenges for IT. Data spread across devices and cloud services, unpredictable schedules, and varied network connections all complicate efforts to protect and govern enterprise information.

The Druva Cloud Platform (formerly Druva inSync & Druva Phoenix) provides unified data protection, management, and information governance across endpoints and cloud applications. Delivered as-a-service, the Druva Cloud Platform aims to simplify backup, archival, compliance, and device management to reduce the cost and complexity of protecting end user data, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve data visibility. With centralized management and self-help data recovery, the vendor states that users' mobile workforces are protected without impacting productivity.

Druva's value proposition:

No hardware, no software

  • Delivered as-a-service means leaving behind on-premises infrastructure, hardware refresh cycles and time consuming software maintenance.

Infinitely scalable
  • Built in the cloud, new capacity can be added to subscriptions on the fly without changes to backup settings, and without needing to purchase and install new appliances or software.

No maintenance windows

  • Druva maintains the data protection solution, not the customer; the platform is always up-to-date with the latest features.

Data Protection That’s Different

  • Druva’s SaaS data protection platform boasts less cost and complexity found in solutions that aren’t built for the cloud, while remaining secure, scalable and always available.

We moved to WFH before implementing Druva, but since then we feel much more secure about our cloud backups. We previously relied on the cloud provider's SLA, but determined that was not enough and with WFH we rely on that cloud data even more so than in the past. Druva has also allowed us to back up more of our user's devices than our previous solution covered.

We had an on-prem Druva solution and during COVID-19 we moved to Druva inSync's cloud platform. As a result, our users were able to back up their data without using the company VPN to connect to the on-prem solution anymore.

Druva inSync continues to serve as our backup tool for many of our laptops even as users work on them remotely. This gives IT and our end users assurance that no data will be lost if anything should have remotely to cause damage or loss of their hard drives.

I do not know that there is any specific impact that Druva has made. We continue to use it the same as we had previously. It has made it easier for our IT team, as we have all transitioned to work from home, to be able to replace a user's computer, as Druva allows us to restore their data without having to be on our corporate network, making the process faster when working from our home internet.

We initially adopted and deployed Druva inSync in order to protect our company provided laptops. Since all employees with company laptops have them because they work from locations outside our corporate offices, the protection Druva inSync provides encompasses any disruption to use of the device and its contents.

So, in short, the inherent nature of the solution offers protection be it in the midst of a pandemic, a hurricane, an earthquake, or simply accidental damage of laptop.

Having Druva Insync alongside Office365 has really helped with peace of mind as more staff work remotely saving files to local desktops rather than centralised server file shares. We have seen a general upwards trend in the amount of data being backed up and have had instances where file have been recovered successfully to laptops that would otherwise have been lost.

With Druva as a way to backup critical user files and access from any location, our users are not hindered by the Covid-19 WFH situation. Users can continue to access these files while away from their network if allowed. We have Druva files as a historical file system that we hold for prior acquisitions.

The Druva InSync has been working flawless during our COVID-19 remote-enabled workforce. From the IT perspective, the flexibility of being able to access the portal without needing to be connecting to the internal network is a plus. We've not had any issues and the product continues to function admirably for us.

With Druva, we're able to pull down information to a new laptop if we need to replace that person's laptop. It eliminates time that may need to be spent with the user to migrate their data. There have been several instances where a machine has gone down completely and we're able to take the data and immediately spin up a new machine after the data has been restored.

Druva inSync has made the transition of our employees from the office to work-from-home as seamless and painless as possible. Backups continue and are as transparent as if they are in the office. Plus the ability for users to self-administer has been a huge impact in reducing support call volume during this crisis.
