What is Druva Data Resiliency Cloud?

Druva Data Resiliency Cloud

Workforce mobility and the rise of cloud services is an essential part of any business, but it creates a number of challenges for IT. Data spread across devices and cloud services, unpredictable schedules, and varied network connections all complicate efforts to protect and govern enterprise information.

The Druva Cloud Platform (formerly Druva inSync & Druva Phoenix) provides unified data protection, management, and information governance across endpoints and cloud applications. Delivered as-a-service, the Druva Cloud Platform aims to simplify backup, archival, compliance, and device management to reduce the cost and complexity of protecting end user data, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve data visibility. With centralized management and self-help data recovery, the vendor states that users' mobile workforces are protected without impacting productivity.

Druva's value proposition:

No hardware, no software

  • Delivered as-a-service means leaving behind on-premises infrastructure, hardware refresh cycles and time consuming software maintenance.

Infinitely scalable
  • Built in the cloud, new capacity can be added to subscriptions on the fly without changes to backup settings, and without needing to purchase and install new appliances or software.

No maintenance windows

  • Druva maintains the data protection solution, not the customer; the platform is always up-to-date with the latest features.

Data Protection That’s Different

  • Druva’s SaaS data protection platform boasts less cost and complexity found in solutions that aren’t built for the cloud, while remaining secure, scalable and always available.

Druva Cloud backup is best suited for the organization having roaming users, offices at cluster location having bandwidth issues, and most importantly real-time data backup at the cloud server. This helped any organization if the device gets crashed or stolen or some data corruption happened. In our case, it saved us multiple times during the last two years.
I really find it a bit less appropriate in the case of server/image backup, maybe we have not explored it more, because we are using some other application for that.

For an automated backup solution that works on multiple OS, I am unaware of anyone who does it better. The administration [is] nearly just as easy as the end user usage. I do hate that the file share feature was done away with. Restoring a full backup after the initial setup can be more difficult to accomplish than necessary.

Druva fit into our new data center modeled on VMWare with ease. Deployment of proxies to manage backup and recovery was straightforward. Once deployed, the software detected all our virtual machines and began backing them up. Very little effort to get started. Hyper-V WAS very similar but took a little longer to deploy. Overall, a great experience.

Druva inSync is a great cloud based backup solution that is quick and easy to implement into any Office 365 environment. It is government accessible for GCC and can backup the GCC Government cloud for Office 365. It is easy to configure and setup for automation upon user, teams and SharePoint creation for Office 365.

It is a time-saving tool that allows you to work freely and remotely as well. Through this application you can easily recover any lost files, it offers good security against the data access to your employees and your customers. Druva will never indulge you in any breakup issues, thus gives you quick support. I will recommend it to every type of industry for self-empowerment.

We fully recommend this application since it has saved us on affinities of occasions during recoveries. It is an ideal tool for backing up emails, documents and multimedia files. It is an appropriate option for companies that have a constant movement of equipment. It can be used as the main backup tool in the cloud.

Since Druva is a service that saves all the data on the web in a short time, it is useful to generate massive file-saving operations that require a high degree of synchronization by all the computers that are attached to the management. It is excellent and highly recommended for freeing up space on physical hard disks so that all your information is moved to the cloud in the shortest possible time so that it can be safeguarded. Since it saves all variations of the same file, it could be used to create a space where you can make constant comparisons of changes in the work, and retrieve information from past versions in case you want to include something that has been removed in the new versions.

We deploy it to senior management on the desktop, in combination with OneDrive synchronization for all users.
We also use the service to backup all email.
It is great for sales people who might drop their laptop.
It is great for the legal department for easy searches.
Probably not a good fit for a VDI environment on the desktop. But still use it for SharePoint, OneDrive and Exchange mail.

Attorneys no longer have to wait for a response back from IT to look for a missing file. They are now "self-empowered" to restore missing or corrupted files after hours and on weekends. On occasion if the need may arise, they can log in to inSync from another device and download a file.

To date, I have not come across a scenario where inSync has not been a great fit.

For our environment, having multiple offices, multiple domains, we were able to quickly get Druva configured and enabled. Within two weeks we had complete backups of our systems and data and were able to retire the multiple media-based backups that we had been using prior.

I really love the capabilities of Druva and how it meets our requirements. And it's in the AWS cloud so no on-premise architecture needed. It also has mobile backup capabilities specifically towards Android OS devices.

inSync version updates process is very simple, we can directly push the updates from the admin console and no need to take remote of client systems for updates.

Now Druva is restricted for minimum additional licenses to 10. It would have considered for any number of additional licenses for existing SMB customers.

It's best suited for every kind of environment, especially for laptop users it's a must. Users travelling always fear for the data loss due to physical damage or laptop loss but with Druva you will have even data you worked till laptop shutdown.

We can schedule data backup with 5 min frequency so data loss chances become minimum.

We use it with Windows and Mac devices and it works well, I'm not sure it works with Linux. Since it is cloud-based it works whenever the user is as long as the device is connected to the internet. Backups may not work well when bandwidth is limited, sometimes we have had to reinstall the agent.

Druva inSync is well suited for companies and employees who need to ensure that files are backed up to the cloud on a routine basis. This ensures any issue with someone's laptop and/or desktop is rectified by restoring files back to said laptop or desktop or even a new machine that someone receives. Restoration is seamless and fast. I don't see any scenarios within our company where it is not appropriate.
