What is Druva Data Resiliency Cloud?

Druva Data Resiliency Cloud

Workforce mobility and the rise of cloud services is an essential part of any business, but it creates a number of challenges for IT. Data spread across devices and cloud services, unpredictable schedules, and varied network connections all complicate efforts to protect and govern enterprise information.

The Druva Cloud Platform (formerly Druva inSync & Druva Phoenix) provides unified data protection, management, and information governance across endpoints and cloud applications. Delivered as-a-service, the Druva Cloud Platform aims to simplify backup, archival, compliance, and device management to reduce the cost and complexity of protecting end user data, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve data visibility. With centralized management and self-help data recovery, the vendor states that users' mobile workforces are protected without impacting productivity.

Druva's value proposition:

No hardware, no software

  • Delivered as-a-service means leaving behind on-premises infrastructure, hardware refresh cycles and time consuming software maintenance.

Infinitely scalable
  • Built in the cloud, new capacity can be added to subscriptions on the fly without changes to backup settings, and without needing to purchase and install new appliances or software.

No maintenance windows

  • Druva maintains the data protection solution, not the customer; the platform is always up-to-date with the latest features.

Data Protection That’s Different

  • Druva’s SaaS data protection platform boasts less cost and complexity found in solutions that aren’t built for the cloud, while remaining secure, scalable and always available.

  • Client status report.
  • Delta backup.
  • Policies to filter file types.
  • Some users have problems to query their backed up files and passwords are recovered any time they log in.
  • Sometimes, there are not alerts to indicate that backup is not completed.
  • It is confusing to locate the users and devices inside web console administration. These could be together.

  • The Druva Capability to take backup in small packets helped us a lot, especially for roaming users working on low bandwidth and while working remote areas with low bandwidth.
  • Druva backup takes very little memory and system process while taking backup in the background, that was an added advantage for us, especially when we have some other memory-hungry application running on user systems.
  • Centralized backup and restoration capability to any system from a centralized console helped us a lot, especially during pandemics and users working from home.
  • Secure and unattended installation from centralized console helped IT team a lot and saved our time to implementation.
  • Druva has single admin and multi admin option in different versions, but I would like to see multi admin option even from basic version of cloud backup.
  • On premises backup option need to be explore.
  • You can make support more efficient.

  • Hands off backups - set it and forget it. notification sent if backup fails.
  • Restores are quick and complete - virtual server can be restored from certain date and time.
  • Would like the ability to delete backups. Over time, the number of backups will use up data limits. For certain servers, would like to be able to delete older backups. If a server has been upgraded and operating, would like to delete backups done before the upgrade to save space.
  • Would like DFA to use texts to phone. Currently DFA sends email with code.

  • I am no more worried about any security risks and saving my time by finding the data quickly and effortlessly.
  • This software is built keeping in concern the latest hurdles in the way of saving data supply to my customers. I am very much satisfied with its quality services and the timely response of the customer service team.
  • Druva never bounds me to stay in the office and keep an eye on what’s going on, however, it facilitates me to protect my confidential data anywhere and provides me constant notifications about any misleading activity or any unauthentic user access..
  • In the beginning, it was difficult for me to have [a] proper understanding, especially [when] discover[ing] its features really took my time and energy.
  • There should be more stuff available about its usage installation and even about the customization and configuration, being the new user you need to take assistance from the technical person.

  • What we like about this application is that it allows us to backup and restore information from other applications such as OneDrive, Sharepoint and many more.
  • At the same time, one of the most important features is that the restoration processes are really fast.
  • Likewise, the amount of bandwidth it uses is very minimal.
  • We found that the application only manages functions of the profile that is logged into the platform, it does not take actions of the whole team by default.
  • Also, we found the usability and navigation through the administrative console to be a bit complicated.
  • Similarly, the application issues notifications excessively and does not have a section for customizing them.

  • No failures occur during the execution of the backup processes, not even if the files are damaged or corrupted due to external causes, as they are finished backing up, and once the process is finished we can continue with our regular operations by dropping the file.
  • The configuration of Druva can be done so quickly that it is possible to start copying data and backing it up to the cloud of our choice almost instantaneously, which shows how versatile the software is for people even without experience in this area.
  • When you need to manage all the different versions of the same file stored in a specific cloud, the platform offers the option to generate almost unlimited copies without making the process confusing, or making it difficult to access each file in a row.
  • It does not have a tool that makes backups can be scheduled at different levels, or automate them to run at certain times without the need to generate them manually, which leads to the need to work in real-time, which makes us lose time.
  • If there is a file being uploaded to the cloud and the connection is poor, uploads can be paused randomly if the Druva platform is placed in the background, and this can make work quite difficult if the user is busy with other activities, and forces the user to stay within the Druva screen.
  • It does not have a comfortable compression mechanism, and this makes it difficult to compress files when you need to upload them to the web.

  • We had a MacBook Air that was dropped in a puddle and was basically totaled. Once the user was given a new laptop, Druva inSync was able to completely restore the desktop.
  • Druva inSync was used as temporary storage for iOS updating.
  • Email Inbox was corrupted, but since the user was backed up on Druva inSync. We were able to recover everything that was lost.
  • The ability to customize notifications
  • More admin control--be able to remotely force backups
  • Secondary on-site storage and hardware

  • Hastle-free backup management via agent installed on the user's machine.
  • Cloud backup solution so backup happens every time, in office or outside office.
  • PST backup available which is not there in many solutions.
  • Excellent support from DRUVA, I never had an instance where call delayed from Druva support by 1 hour.
  • Fine tuning of the DRUVA agent as user face performance issues during first full backup.
  • Data restoration for users left is a bit tough procedure, needs to be easy.
  • Cost should be reduced.

  • Easy to use for both end user and administrator
  • The central console is clear. You can see the backup status of each user and/or device, track the location of the device, and update the endpoint agent version.
  • Mobile access to your backups
  • Backups may not work well over a reduced bandwidth internet connection.
  • You cannot add single users to your license.
  • It would be nice to have a mobile app for the administrator.

  • Restoration of files if there is an issue with a laptop.
  • New Versions don't show Release Notes; actually have to Google this information.
  • There are quite a few outages.
