Dynamic Yield is being used as a testing and personalisation tool across our e-commerce team. It helps us to make decisions based on facts from test results, optimise our time by focusing on the most profitable areas to work on and set up a personalisation plan to best service our customers.
  • The speed at which you can implement change onto your website. For example, any broken links or one off instances of systems failures affecting the purchasing process a message can quickly and easily be added to the site to inform customers of problems and how they should proceed.
  • The DY support team are on hand 24/7 to help with any queries, reply quickly along with having an account manager to reach out to for help with planning and how best to implement test etc.
  • Better explanations of what type of campaign to use when setting up personalization. This could be examples of how it works on a website to view and get a better idea how it will show on your site.
  • To advance the scheduling feature on site personalization so that campaigns can continue to run but with a change of image instead of having to set up another targeting experience.
Well suited to companies who need to react quickly to change and where the customer base varies significantly so that you can target them differently to gain the best conversion and purchase rate outcome. Also well suited to small teams as it is quick and easy to make site changes and set up testing so it does not require a lot of time from users to set up campaigns and once initially set up changes and duplications are very simple so therefore does not take time away from other tasks.

We are using Dynamic Yield mainly for managing notifications, personalised content and events, page customization and A/B Testing. Dynamic Yield allows us to test new features quickly without having to involve our developers team. It's used by different teams within the marketing department, in small measure also by the content team.

We are using Dynamic Yield in order to manage all our A/B testing activity in our company. It has a great feature to perform multi variants tests. In addition we use Dynamic Yield's recommendation engine feature. The platform is being used by several departments and it is very user-friendly and easy to use.
  • The Dynamic Yield platform allows us to create templates to assist end users, which are not developers, to change content in the code. For example, to change an image file on an existing code.
  • The platform allows you to create targeted strategies for the recommendation engine feature using filtering rules. There is a cool live view of the products feed which assist in creating the strategy.
  • The platform allows you to preview the experiment on the site even before going live which is amazing for QA.
  • If you have more than 1 account in dynamic Yield, there is no easy feature which allows you to duplicate experiments from one account to another (besides dynamic content).
  • The reports of the recommendation engine are not good enough. There is no easy way to measure this feature's impact.
  • There is no waterfull functionality between different multi touch features.
Dynamic Yield is a great platform which enables us to manage all A/B testing activity, personalization activity, recommendation engine activity and more in one place. One platform to rule them all. The power of Dynamic Yield is having all these capabilities in one place. It is very "end-user" oriented and easy to manage. The main issues which should be improved are the reports and ROI measurement of this tool.

Originally Dynamic Yield was used for our eCommerce site so we could tailor our site to cater to different audiences. Everyone is at a different stage in their journey when shopping with us and a one size fits all model just didn't make sense. Looking at how people interact with our site and looking at what they purchase, we could then tailor campaigns that would be of interest to that customer. An example of this is that during a kit launch we would heavily promote our kit, however, if someone has already purchased the kit, why would we want to show them the same product they've already purchased, so for that audience we could tone down from the kit launch and show them other products available on site.

DY was also handy with Geo-Targeting, around Christmas we would promote jumpers and hoodies worldwide, however, in countries such as Australia, it would be their summer at this time, so DY allowed us to target those in Australia with shirts and hats.

Two years on, we now use DY in other departments in our organisation, including the main site and the stadium tours site.
  • Scheduling - We used to manually change campaign banners over but now it has allowed us to schedule our banners.
  • Retargeting - DY allows us to use our data to retarget to an audience we know have an affinity to a specific product.
  • Split Testing - Rather than using guess work as to what looks better on the site or what works better, we test every change we make to the site and allow DY to show us the numbers and make a more data-driven decision to any change on the site.
  • Design - there are limited templates you can use as overlays and notifications, if you want something more specific to your brand then you'll need some form of basic web development skills to create them.
I think Dynamic Yield is well suited for everyone, I think every customer is different and therefore every session should look different for every user. Dynamic Yield allows you to tailor to your product/service to your customers.

We currently use Dynamic Yield to keep our website as personalized as possible, hoping to help our customers get the items they are searching for, in a faster manner. Only the marketing team is using it. Problems that DY has solved is ease of use for us as a company in being able to upload content to our website in a visually pleasing manner.
  • Dynamic Yield is very good at helping us personalize our website, giving us many options to choose from as to who sees what, and why.
  • The ease of use is great, it makes my job quick and easy.
  • The number of options and templates that are built-in make DY easy for anyone to pick up the program and be effective without any extra effort.
  • Because we have so many experiences on the go at a time, it can get slow while we are working in the back end.
Honestly, if you want to have an easy way of making sure your website caters the right things to the right people, DY is the program for you. I can have many different iterations of the same page at the same time, and it will show each version to the right person, allowing them to see what they want to see.

We're using Dynamic Yield to test key conversion landing pages and funnels across eCommerce. This includes email marketing, paid acquisition UX, and merchandising. The tools help us understand how our customers and consultants engage with our site, and allow us to better serve them.
  • Excellent, intuitive software design enables agile test deployment with minimal time and resource dependencies.
  • Consistent support and proactive account representation.
  • Powerful audience targeting and rules-based automation go far beyond what native platforms offer.
  • I would like to see server-side integration so that A/B experiences load with the page vs after the fact, which can cause additional page load and flicker.
  • I would like to see more robust revenue reporting, including aggregate reports across multiple tests.
Well suited for flexible conversion-oriented teams will full ownership of the eCommerce and customer experience. Dynamic Yield offers powerful customization tools that extend beyond standard merchandising tasks, so users effectively have full control over the eCommerce experience. Dynamic Yield is being used primarily as a personalisation tool within our E-commerce department, it gives us the flexibility to launch ad-hoc campaigns targeted at specific user groups without involving the development team (most of the time). This allows the team to be agile and responsive to trading conditions, in turn helping us to achieve our overall goals and targets.
  • Quick on-boarding - we really pushed Dynamic Yield to have the software up and running on our platform in less than a month, this was achieved through effective collaboration between our ecom and dev teams and the DY on-boarding team.
  • Attentive and responsive account management - is a major plus point, the account team are always at the end of a phone line or respond to an email within the hour even when travelling.
  • Easy-to-use adaptable out of the box templates - helps us to spin up multiple tests in a short space of time.
  • Reporting - would be good to have a more detailed dashboard that you could customise to suit you needs and then export as a PDF report, currently we export data on a campaign by campaign basis which is fairly time consuming.
  • Site personalization - would be good if the results were also displayed on the on this screen as you could then see winners/losers quicker and make appropriate actions/decisions.
Dynamic Yield is well suited to businesses that are actively engaged in and concerned with how their customers are responding to their site/products be it as a first time or repeat customer. If your business wants to target specific segments with specific messages at specific times then Dynamic Yield is a perfect fit.

At home24 we use Dynamic Yield in several departments, to be precise in Marketing within Merchandising, Personalization, Affiliate and in Product Tech for the function of Messaging, Product Recommendation and Dynamic Landing pages.

The software gives us immense flexibility and targeting capabilities without having the need of going through the usual tech development process. Ideas can be tested quickly and results evaluated real time and that is a big pro for our company.
  • Possibility to personalize merchandising assets

  • Possibility to create custom messages based on GTM events

  • Dynamic Yield makes it easy to select a special audience and use this audience as a trigger to show them special website content.

Dynamic Yield is my first choice for A/B testing and personalization. The tool enables us to set up a test very quickly and try for new approaches in CRO. If you don't have any HTML / JavaScript skills it still has some widgets which an be customized. You need some basic web development skills to use the complete potential of the tool.

We use it to personalize the journey for our customers, give them product recommendations, and gear the site towards things they are likely to buy and need. It addresses the problem of customers not knowing what they might need or are looking for, it also works really well to upsell customers and increase the ROI.

Dynamic Yield is being used by a specific group in the organization dedicated to improving onsite customer experience and driving sales and conversion. For us, it allows us to solve a number of business problems, but all with the goal of driving increased revenue for the direct to consumer website and overall company.
  • Personalization & Segmentation of customers is easily executed.
  • Their preview tool could use some improvement as there are some buggy elements, but this is an area that is being address in their product roadmap.
Well suited in direct to consumer e-commerce websites versus non- transactional sites. We have found that we have been able to drive sales and conversion directly from changes implemented on the tool, and with their global control functionality, we have been able to directly understand with a control group what specifically that impact is.

It's currently used by my e-commerce platform MASARISHOP.COM to enhance customer experience and add personalization to the site. Everyone in my team contributes to it, from the IT to merchandiser to marketing; and we look at how it can improve our revenue, user retention and loyalty.
In our retail group we're the only one doing e-commerce so DY is not used by other departments.
  • The many design templates we can choose, it really saves time for our graphics designer.
  • The ease of reading information on dashboard and reports.
  • All our problems are addressed, from increasing newsletter subscribers to personalizing the product selection.
  • Integrating newsletter (MailChimp in particular) API to DY can use a little bit more guidance.
  • Some currency functions (ours is Indonesian Rupiah) does not work properly.
  • Product recommendations section for 'similarity : needs to address the fact that they cannot accept multi-categories of each product. e.g. a shirt can be categorized as a 'top' category but will also fit into 'vacation wear', 'sale', etc.
It is very appropriate if you're a mid-sized (or up) e-commerce looking to boost your customer retention and keep traffic flowing in; and want some features that your current back end development cannot create in a short time / money consuming environment.

Dynamic Yield is being used by the Personalization and A/B testing teams under the e-Commerce department at Sephora. It enables us to personalize the user's journey on our web and app platforms, as well as email. Additionally, we use it to run front-end tests to optimise our UI and marketing campaigns.
  • Personalisation - The tool is heightened with user personalisation opportunities that Dynamic Yield is able to identify with their algorithm. It's a very smart tool and the product recommendation strategies have proved to be a success, generating uplift in revenue and other e-commerce core metrics. Additionally, the recommendation algorithm continues to get stronger over time, which is really a testament to the technology that makes Dynamic Yield so successful.
  • A/B Testing - The number of variations and ability to control the traffic split is a very basic capability but the ease of using it on Dynamic Yield really takes this tool to the next level. Reiterating and pausing losing variations make it a very user-friendly and scalable tool.
  • Support - The Customer Success Managers play a really large role as they help us with strategic and technical questions and enable us to help move our capabilities with Dynamic Yield forward. Additionally, we have a very good relationship with members from the 24/7 Support team as really take care of us when we go to them with any problems/issues we'd like to solve.
  • App SDK is still new - the SDK is still new in a sense that the capabilities and support documents provided are not as thorough as they are for Web (Desktop and Mobile Web). Newer features are typically rolled out to web sections before they are rolled out to Mobile App.
  • Audience prediction - We are looking at other tools to get audience predictions as we'd like to further optimise our campaigns by reaching the relevant audience and targetting the ones that have a higher propensity to convert. Dynamic Yield is currently missing this functionality.
  • Reporting - The reporting dashboard is not sufficient to take a look at the data and results. It's very manual and tedious to pull the reports and manage our own insights. Additionally, we manage multiple sections which run the same experiences and consolidating the data outside of the Dynamic Yield platform means that our analytics and reporting is done offline.
It is well suited for A/B testing and personalisation. The product recommendation algorithms are varied and intelligent. They grow smarter over time which optimises the conversion opportunities we have with our customers. Great to use for splitting traffic and serving different variations. Additionally, the multi-campaign touch tool is a great way to build out the customer journey and test multiple experiences.

We use Dynamic Yield for A/B testing and personalization in the marketing department. It enables us to run A/B test easily through the admin and if we have any issues, the account managers and support team are always there to help us.

Dynamic Yield is great to modify your website and implement A/B tests easily. The way that they split the audience is very clean and the number of overlaps (where a user sees both variations) is minimal. It would be good to have some knowledge in HTML, CSS and Javascript to explore more complex tests. However, they are not able to ingest order cancellations/returns data in the dashboard so our analysis is still done internally.

Various teams in my organisation use Dynamic Yield - the A/B testing team, onsite team and CRM. Dynamic Yield helps us seek out opportunities; shows how we can optimise our performance, helps us manage our onsite banners (easier to make frontend edits), and we load our newsletter lead generation pop-ups using this platform.
  • Great user interface, very intuitive. I hadn't used any similar platforms before, but I know how to use Dynamic Yield without referring to any guide.
  • 24/7 support team available, so it's easy to reach out whenever we encounter a problem. And we can arrange for a call to share screens if it's hard to explain over messages.
  • Up to date with product features, always striving to get feedback from customers on what they want to see, then building it
  • Shares successful case studies of other companies and we learn from each other.
  • Support service can be quicker at times
  • Unable to open different sections (e.g. Philippines, Taiwan) in the same browser - will have to open incognito or use another browser

It's well suited when your company believes in A/B testing, and will take much time to reach out to the developers to make edits on the frontend. It's also good when you have ample CRM data you can use to personalise your tests.

It is currently being used for testing and optimisation by our marketing department. It helps improve our website by identifying segments and allowing us to test against these. We found our previous provider (Monetate) was more than twice the cost of Dynamic Yield and did 90% of the same things.

It has the ability to build product recommendations, but we are currently tied into a third party. We will definitely investigate using Dynamic Yield for this function too. We are currently seeing a commercial benefit to using Dynamic Yield, however the business is not able to spend enough time producing new and innovative tests.
  • It segments our performance so we can accurately measure improvements. Unlike other tools, Dynamic Yield is faster.
  • It allows you to segment for an audience and tells you how big the test audience is likely to be. This is not an easy thing to do with other platforms. You often have to run a test before you realise how big the user pool is likely to be.
  • It is more than 50% cheaper than our previous provider.
  • The Account Manager is proactive, keen, and has regular meetings with us. Other providers that I have used in the past are productive for an initial 2-3 month period then tend to go missing until renewal, and this is not the case with Dynamic Yield.
  • It would be great if you could provide 24 hour support, seven days a week UK time.
  • Devise level testing is a problem. We have built tests on mobile and tablet devices and they have not always worked as designed. On one occasion, a mobile test broke all transactional reporting (for mobile devices) in Google Analytics.
  • We feel we are missing out on hearing about tests that other Dynamic Yield customers have done. We haven't seen a lot of positive case studies of tests other customers have conducted.
it is well suited in fast pace environments. Producing tests is a lot easier if you have a dedicated front end developer who understand CSS and JavaScript.
If you need help with these technical parts, I don't believe the online support is fast enough or detailed enough to provide good advise. If you believe your website has at least 3 tests that are worthwhile to conduct you would probably pay for Dynamic Yield within 12 months. Because of the costs, it is much easier and faster to prove the product has paid for itself within a short period.

Dynamic Yield is being used mostly by our brand and content marketing department as well as performance marketing. Additionally, the product managers are using it for any type of A/B test.
  • Simple or multivariant A/B tests.
  • It’s a great tool for content management. The tool will choose the best performances and/or A/B test your content on the fly.
  • Recommendations with many different strategies.
  • Improving the impact on the page speed. Currently, it can be that the page speed is impacted by the tool. It all depends on the heaviness of usage.
I would say any bigger online e-commerce company would benefit.

We use Dynamic Yield across Marketing and Product departments. It help us provide dynamic content on the site, a/b test UX hypothesis and make personalised product recommendations.
  • Targeting of the experiments is very flexible, powerful and reliable
  • Platform UX is very intuitive and flexible to your own needs of structure
  • The process to activate an experiment end to end is very agile, the preview mode is also very helpful
  • Data feed infrastructure is not lean, but it works just fine, especially when you require it to support localised content for multiple domains and your product have a lot of attributes
  • Doesn't support a backend API yet, but I am aware that it's on the way. It will be very helpful for page Load performance and SEO of the content provided by Dynamic Yield
  • Doesn't support negative engagement with products or product attributes, as yet

We have been using DY for product recommendations (in Homepage, product detail page and pages with products sold out - each one with different strategies and audiences), AB tests on the website, and a few out of the box templates by DY, like the social proof widget. We also implemented Newsletter subscription with good results. Basically, it is used by Marketing with the help of IT to set up some experiments.
  • Product Recommendations - we had designed similar widgets as we had in our page, and input different strategies, e.g. new users will see recommended products with strategy of most popular and/or automated, while recurrent users are seeing recently viewed items strategy. The widgets are running at home page, product page and sold out products page.
  • Newsletter subscription templates, and we can test with different experiences of the user.
  • Can easily try different elements in the nav bar
  • Can easily try different layout of the cart page
  • Custom actions tests
  • Logic on the strategies for companies with unique items (e.g. where most popular or bought together categories do not work)
  • In some cases we need to involve our developers in the elements selector or some formatting CSS code.
Recommended for conversion optimizer emails. If you don't have a content feed, does not make sense to run personalized content to users.
