Ecwid is being used by our company. It allows us to have a low-cost simple to use point-of-sale and website for our foodservice business. It is utilized by numerous personnel in different departments from cashiers to web administrators. The website portion of the site has been the most useful part since it has allowed us to achieve our exact goals with minimal experience required.

Ecwid is absolutely perfect for any business that is looking to start out with online sales and mobile point-of-sale. Many times, business owners may have limited experience in setting up a website or point-of-sale. Having to spend on this expertise with a limited budget can be frustrating. Ecwid allows you to have great results even if you are a novice.

Ecwid stacks up extremely well compared to the other products I’ve listed. Sure, there any some instances in which the other products may be better suited due to their very high level of customization. However, for the average business, Ecwid will not only meet their expectations but far exceed them. It is an option that definitely needs to be explored before going with one of the other high-priced options.

The business functions are various. They start with allowing us to sell our products via the website and extend our to the point-of-sale integration offered so that we can charge customers seamlessly while selling in person. The ease of use allows all of our users to utilize the solution with minimal questions.

We have one person on hand that can support the users with any questions they may have due to their experience with other e-commerce and point-of-sale solutions. However, due to the ease of use, support rarely needs to be given to any user. The interface is so easy to use that most users have become experts in utilizing Ecwid.

The value given by Ecwid is unmatched. When combined with the ease of use of the product, it is a no-brainer to continue to use the product. The only thing that could cause us to switch is if some feature we needed which is not available which is unlikely based on the feature list we reviewed when making the decision to go with them.

Pricing was the highest factor. Since this was a new business, we did not want to incur the high prices of other solutions which could cut into our profit margins. We also factored in the ease of use since having to hire someone to use a complex system would also have factored into pricing.
I would not change our evaluation and selection process. We were very thorough and also utilized free trials to make sure we knew what we were committing to. This allows us to make sure we selected a product that should meet both our immediate needs and those to come down the road.

Our little business is so small that we don't really have multiple departments, but we originally began using Ecwid because I needed a way to run e-commerce easily. I'm not incredibly tech savvy and I wanted to service that was going to be straightforward. We only have several products, so I didn't need anything elaborate. I got the sense that we could grow with Ecwid...that I could grow with the process as an e-commerce user.
  • Clarity - there has been very little confusion and need to reach out to Customer Support for help
  • Consistency - no big, crazy updates or changes have been made to the format of Ecwid during my time using it, so I know when I log in to preform my business tasks I can always locate what I need and accomplish what is at hand easily
  • Simplicity - everything is so clear and straightforward. It's like e-commerce for dummies.
  • This may be due to my own lack of savvy, but I still have yet to figure out how to deal with managing stock levels a single product listing with multiple varieties (scents, sizes, colors)
  • I'd like to be able to connect my Venmo business account for a payment option
  • I'd like to be able to integrate my account with shipping service PirateShip
I think Ecwid is well suited for businesses who are dealing with less than typical e-commerce circumstances and need well rounded service that can serve a wide range of purposes. Less appropriate perhaps for large companies who already are very established.

  • We wouldn't be functioning as an online seller at all if it weren't for Ecwid
  • Being able to offer local pick up has provided increased sales
  • We don't have to focus solely on wholesale accounts (which drastically cut our profits)
We began our journey using Squarespace and Square exclusively, then ran into complications. A fellow small business owner recommended Ecwid (she had experienced similar issues with Squarespace) and we quickly made the swap/integration and have never regretted it. We've considered transitioning our website from Squarespace to Shopify, but need Ecwid to continue to be operational regardless.
I gave a 9 instead of a 10 only because I haven't figured out a function or two. I believe it has less to do with Ecwid's overall usability and more to do with my own understanding and skill level, but regardless, it may also have something to do with the limits of Ecwid's functions.
I have always received the support I need in a timely manner. I enjoy receiving emails every week on trending business topics and new suggestions. They often serve as a reminder for me to include new e-commerce tools into our strategy. And I've always had great experiences with reaching out to the support team with specific questions.
