My business uses eFileCabinet for workflow, OCR, secure file-sharing, email importing, and eSignature requests. Also to store docs and share docs among our team mates so we can speed our projects along and communicate quickly and more efficiently. We send e signature requests to clients, employees, contractors, and partners by using this service.

  • Takes awhile to load
  • Can be slow
It’s a great software when it comes to gathering e-signatures. It’s also great for sharing and storing documents. It’s not great for workflow and sometimes it’s a lot slower than other services i and my team have used in the past. I would advise using it mainly for storage and electronic signatures.

Our company uses eFIle both in our accounting team and also in support positions that interact with that team and other areas of the company. I specifically use it as a place to save invoices from vendors, purchase orders and all correspondence and documents related to purchasing assets for our company. It is a lifesaver as one location to find any documentation related to projects for any questions or resolution that may be needed at a later date. As a result, I save very little in my email boxes!
  • Cloud-based for access anywhere needed, including off-site and remote offices
  • Allows staff from various areas to access documentation
  • Allows various types of documents to be saved in one place
  • Means I don't need to save documentation in multiple locations and anyone can access as needed
  • Allows me to find historical information easily to resolve questions on billing and projects
  • It's only as good as your system for filing. We file by job number and client, without that it would be unusable, figure that out when you implement.
  • Sometimes it's slow to load.
eFile will work if you can organize prior to roll out and get a consensus on what you are saving and how. If you don't label consistently, it will not be user-friendly. If you do, it's a great resource for saving documentation of all types, especially for accounting functions. I love, as I mentioned, that I use it as my "one source" for saving documentation and save very little in email or on my company server. (YAY) If used well, it should eliminate redundant storage.

We use eFileCabinet as a document storage program. With its ease of "drag and drop" documents can easily be added exactly where you want them.
  • Drag & Drop feature accurately and quickly loads any document where you want it in the files.
  • Easy search mechanism lets you find a document that you may have titled differently in a previous year.
  • Applying multiple templates across the program to any new file must be done in multiple steps. After several phonecalls with tech support, I realized there is no way to integrate several templates into an automatic add function.
eFileCabinet is great for the smaller CPA office for document storage. It is priced well within the means of a small firms budget.

eFilecabinet is used across our organization for our HR, Accounting, and Sales Departments. eFilecabinet gives a true digital solution that replaces a slew of physical file cabinets. eFilecabinet isn't a file sharing platform disguised as an Electronic Document storage solution, it is an easy to use to the point digital document solution.
  • eFileCabinet is a secure platform that can store sensitive documents and information.
  • eFileCabinet provides an easy to use Admin panel for user creation, permissions, settings, etc.
  • eFileCabinet provides a solid Mobile App Platform.
  • eFileCabinet provides both a browser version and desktop version of their online software.
  • eFileCabinet's sidekick app can sometimes stop working on the printer side with Windows updates. It's getting better and less problematic, but it would be nice for support to push out notices to the customers when they know they have bugs in the software.
  • The sidekick app would be nice if it had a "full size mode" and the "smaller / simple mode" so that you don't have to run the browser and sidekick together. This is confusing for our users as they might want the advanced functionality of the website browser efilecabinet instead of the minimal sidekick app.
  • Have auto refresh on sidekick and the browser so that if you make changes in the browser eFileCabinet, the sidekick will update automatically. This is very confusing for our users and should be an included feature in 2019.
  • Mac Sidekick App shouldn't be in beta after 2-3 years. This is sad to see :(
eFilecabinet is the best bang for the buck Digital Document Storage Solution that will replace your Physical File Cabinets in your office and lead you down the paperless digital path. With this price point comes some hiccups and speed bumps that you need to be aware of (broken software due to updates from time to time, missing features, confusing interface due to multiple ways to access your data, etc), but once you find work arounds to these items, you will see how powerful efilecabinet is.

eFileCabinet is currently used by our entire company, including one outside contractor. With our previous document storage system, we were happy but concerned about security. eFileCabinet solves the security concerns for us, it allows us to send documents with special limitations and passwords.

Its search features and organization structure also allows us to quickly find the documents we need. We can also hide certain drawers, or cabinets for select users in our company.

With their SecureDrawer program, we can share documents with our clients or allow them to share with us while still applying restrictions and limitations when needed.
  • The ability to set restrictions on documents sent out or stored in the system is one great strong suit of eFileCabinet.
  • It gives us the confidence that our documents are safe.
  • eFileCabinet has excellent technical support. When needed, I can call or email them and the problem is usually solved in that moment or that day. They have also worked directly with our IT Support Service to get things set up on our server.
  • The search features are frequently used by me. You can limit where the search takes place, and even search within a search to narrow down your results. The side panel lets you preview the documents as well so most often I don't even need to fully open a document to get the information I need.
  • SecureDrawer could use improvement, it doesn't feel completely intuitive to the user, sometimes I find myself confused or irritated while trying to set up someone, or re-map folders.
eFileCabinet is well suited for companies with lots of clients and documents to store for each client. Users can scan using a scanner, or "print" from a PDF file. You can also drag and drop, or send straight from office products such as Excel or Outlook.

eFileCabinet may not be well suited for those who do not have a large number of files to store. If you are looking for a storage system just for your company, and you don't frequently need to look up or send documents - this may be too robust for you.

We utilize eFileCabinet across our whole organization (about 8 people). We use it to eliminate physical document storage, and to simplify user workflow in editing documents. We also utilize e-signature for clients, which has been greatly appreciated both by our staff and our clients!
  • eSignature integration has been a game changer four our organization. The simplification of obtaining client signature on necessary documents through this system has virtually eliminated our need for physically mailing documents to clients.
  • With our documents hosted by eFileCabinet, our team has increased capability to work from home/while on the road without needing to take along physically paperwork.
  • The search function that allows for on-page searching has been extremely useful when we're looking for older documents that we can't quite recall the title of.
  • The automatic filing structure has been helpful, but has taken a bit of our time to straighten out. Scanned in docs don't always end up where we want them to.
  • Pricing has increased over time, and we would love to see it return to the original level.
Great if your field requires copious amounts of paperwork, and you want to get rid of the clutter and stress of dealing with physical paperwork. With the size of our organization (about 8 people), we were borderline on whether the cost would be worthwhile, but even for our group we've found the enhanced workflow and eSignature function to be very valuable. I would think for groups smaller than ours the cost would likely not be worth it.
