What is elastic.io Integration Platform?

The elastic.io Integration Platform is designed as a set of tools for data transformation and data integration both cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground. It belongs to the hybrid integration platform category, as it can be deployed in the cloud as well as on-premise.

The elastic.io platform is microservices-based, with Apache Mesos and Docker underlying the software. This means that each integration flow, each integration components, and the platform itself are composed of Docker containers, ensuring extremely high scalability and performance together with low latency.

There are no comparable ES integration platforms for that I know of, this is the only solution that does what it does at this level.

We use elastic.io platform to connect our Cloud ERP client's whole host of procurement applications with Oracle Database so it can be eventually used for the business intelligence suite of Oracle. This is just one of many different scenarios for which it is extensively used by a lot of our public sector clients.
Pros
  • Unlike other integration platforms, using and implementing elastic.io is fairly simple and intuitive
  • You do not need to worry about scaling since it is taken care by the platform itself
  • Developing new connectors isn't complicated
Cons
  • The number of seeded or default connectors can be improved
  • The value for the money isn't exceptional
  • White labeling is not included in standard packages
Likelihood to Recommend
If you have multiple applications that need to be connected to some standard CRP/ERPs and you want to do it in a cost-effective and scalable way, Elastic.io is a great choice. It is easy and intuitive enough for relatively rapid development than other platforms.

  • Instead of outsourcing the integration to external vendors, the client was able to identify the in-house resources and have them trained on elastic.io. It was made possible because it is quite intuitive and easy and this saved a lot of costs
  • In future when the client is expecting the transactions to go exponentially high in current systems, the number of efforts that will have to spend in scaling will be significantly lesser ensuring the savings of time and cost
