What is eMaint CMMS?

Cloud-based eMaint CMMS software enables maintenance professionals to monitor, capture, store, and share historical asset performance data and use it to maintain and prolong equipment life. Small or growing organizations and multi-site maintenance operations can configure the system to fit their exact needs. eMaint functionality includes work order management, workflow optimization, inventory and spare parts tracking, and automated preventive and predictive maintenance scheduling.

Additionally, should equipment conditions change, a maintenance team member automatically receives a notification and can access the asset’s performance data remotely using a laptop, mobile phone, PC, or another smart device. Based on the information, maintenance managers can make informed repair or replace decisions promptly. Customers receive continuous support from eMaint CMMS experts before, during, and after implementation.

eMaint provides extensive online and in-person learning opportunities to ensure maintenance teams benefit from CMMS updates. Food & beverage, wastewater treatment plants, facilities management operations, healthcare, and universities count on eMaint to keep equipment up and running. Developed by Fluke Reliability (part of the Fluke Corporation), the eMaint CMMS integrates with other Fluke tools, software, and services to elevate asset reliability programs.

eMaint is widely used across all NEFCO facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. With its comprehensive CMMS and asset management capabilities, the software effectively addresses equipment inventory and maintenance management issues. Through eMaint, users are able to track the assets of major medical equipment, including service contracts and purchase orders. This has proven to be invaluable for multiple locations both in the US and overseas, as well as for almost all departments within the organization.

One key use case of eMaint is its ability to track orders, customer maintenance information, and subscriptions. By utilizing this software, organizations are able to streamline their processes and have a centralized database to manage these important aspects of their business. Additionally, eMaint serves as a database for customer information and histories, which allows for better communication and understanding of customer needs. It has even replaced the entire SAP system in some cases, serving as a reliable platform for self-maintenance and central maintenance.

Furthermore, eMaint has significantly reduced reliance on paper-based systems and whiteboards in plants. By digitizing maintenance needs and providing real-time updates on equipment status, the software has enhanced efficiency and productivity in various parts of the organization. However, there are still areas that could benefit from improvement to further optimize the user experience with this product.

Customizable scheduling: Many users have found the scheduling of maintenance work in the CMMS software to be highly customizable, allowing them to meet their specific needs. They appreciate the flexibility in adjusting and organizing their maintenance tasks efficiently.

User-friendly interface: The software's user-friendly interface has been widely praised by reviewers who state that it is easy to learn and use. This intuitive design helps users quickly navigate through different features without much training or confusion.

Responsive customer service: Several users have highlighted the helpfulness of eMaint's customer service, mentioning that they are always willing to make changes to accommodate user needs. The prompt and efficient support from the team ensures a smooth experience for customers whenever they encounter any issues or require assistance with the software.

  1. Lack of development for mobile version: Some users have expressed frustration with the lack of focus on improving the mobile version of the product. They feel that not enough effort has been put into enhancing the user experience on mobile devices.

  2. Calendar function needs improvement: Several reviewers have mentioned that the calendar function is lacking in development and is not very user-friendly. Users find it difficult to navigate and would like to see improvements in its functionality.

  3. Difficulty segregating PM task views: Many users find the PM task views and maintenance item lists to be confusing and not user-friendly. It is challenging for them to segregate the views based on upcoming PM due dates, causing inconvenience and inefficiency in managing tasks effectively.

Users of eMaint have provided several recommendations based on their experience with the program. The most common recommendations include utilizing the sandbox option and seeking real-life examples from current subscribers. It is also recommended to ensure seamless integration with accounting software and consolidate other programs into the sole use of eMaint. Additionally, users advise having a clear understanding of objectives before implementation and thoroughly testing the system. These recommendations reflect the user's positive experiences with eMaint while providing practical advice on maximizing its benefits.

It may be a good product, but the challenges faced by their implementation team were so much that we never had an opportunity to escalate the issues we faced. A lot of promises were not delivered. Poor implementation and communication I'd say.

For both large and small companies, eMaint has different tiers to choose from that can best fit the company's needs. Any industry can benefit from eMaint once the right training is accomplished and the software has been fit for that specific industry.

I would recommend this product to any company needing to have a system to manage assets. A maintenance department which is required to have a PM and calibration program to not only manage their assets but to also protect their investments. Also as they grow and have a system to implement a solid reliability program eMaint will suit their needs.

eMaint is well suited to larger facilities with dedicated scheduler/planners. Learning to navigate the database and create reports requires a dedicated resource. Part-time users often forget the process for entering data and navigating the database. In smaller organizations where multiple users enter assets, planned maintenance (PM) tasks and vendors, keeping standardization in the system formatting was difficult.
