What is Eventbrite?

Eventbrite is a global ticketing and event technology platform that provides creators of events with tools and resources to plan, promote, and produce live experiences.

The vendor says event organizers can benefit from Eventbrite’s self-service event planning tools including email invitation creation, RSVP tracking, and ticket selling. Ticket sales can be managed online via the ticketing website or through integration with social media sites including Facebook, and real-time sales data aims to help event planners assess attendance and profit.

The platform includes powerful discovery channels and robust marketing tools, which, according to the vendor, facilitate high conversion rates. Eventbrite's goal is to help users zero in on the most interested event-goers and sell more tickets to their events.

Eventbrite offers an easy and no-fuss ticketing solution that enables one to easily supply tickets for given events with relative ease. For users, the app is easy to use and seamless, with tickets available on their mobile app or PDF (print or in screen). From a vendor perspective, it's easy to keep track of attendees and ticket sales.
  • Mobile app.
  • Simplicity.
  • Omni-channel.
Cons
  • Cross sale.
  • Lists of events.
  • Marketing of events.
Eventbrite would be well suited to those looking at ticketing solutions for:
  1. Festivals - So for example, a local festival that happens annually or semi-regularly.
  2. Music gigs - ad-hoc festivals.
  3. Beer, cider or wine events.
  4. Local events - including those sold virally through social media.
  5. IT or networking events.

Eventbrite is being used by the event planning arm of the college to facilitate an easier rsvp process for various events. It is able to gather the necessary information from attendees and put it all in an easy to manipulate spreadsheet. At the same time, attendees have a smooth sign-up process that looks and feels more professional than something like a Google form. It is able to send automatic confirmation emails, and can also issue tickets. I've found that this software saves us a tremendous amount of time while still having an elevated feel for the users.
  • Very professional looking -- makes your event feel well run.
  • Automates various messages, like confirmation emails and reminders.
Cons
  • It would be nice if Eventbrite had a demo function to show you just how detailed you can get. Some features can be difficult to locate, or even know that they exist.
This software is very well suited for a variety of larger events, like lectures and performances. I have appreciated setting it up and allowing it to run around the clock for our participants, which ultimately provides a smoother experience. However, I probably wouldn't recommend it for events where you're expecting a smaller audience. It can take a while to set up exactly as you'd like, and it may not be worth the time if you're expecting 30 people or less (depending on how much info you're trying to gather, of course).

Eventbrite helps by eliminating the struggles and complexities of event registration through the use of its user-friendly platform and intuitive features. Attendees can find the information they need, the ticket types they want, and process their registration within minutes. Eventbrite also provides a robust solution for both free and paid events.
  • Event creation and attendees registration.
  • The tool allows you to send the invitations, check on bounces, and review who has clicked & RSVP'd.
  • Being able to manage waitlists, multiple ticket types, reimbursements, and custom order forms, all through the application.
Cons
  • Eventbrite could be better with third-party integrations (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) rather than its own website.
  • Sometimes it can be difficult to get in contact with support which causes delays in having issues resolved.
  • It would be great if the analytics were more robust and expansive.
Eventbrite is great for customizing your attendee registration, I would recommend their solution if you need to build your own registration forms. Furthermore, Eventbrite is beneficial for event planners who want their event to reach a large audience but don't have time to print marketing materials.

FYI: It can be hard to share links to events that aren’t directly being sent to friends or direct contacts.

We used Eventbrite in our organization in our department to reach out to the public on events we were holding across the state. It helped us keep track of the amount of attendees, made them aware to the location and time of events, and let us develop relationships with the public sector.
  • Tracking of attendees
  • Event detail page and tickets sales are exquisite
  • Letting others share the event
  • User friendly interface
  • Excellent and professional looking design
Cons
  • Non-profit version should be available for a lower cost on ticket sales
  • Difficult beginner learning curve
  • Not 100% customizable
Ticket sales and a great looking ticket sales landing page is Eventbrite's strong suit. I like that they use location for events to promote events throughout the area by using your location. This can be handy on gathering a new audience/clientele. Depending on your size, the cost of per ticket sale can be steep depending on what kind of sales you are pulling.

We use Eventbrite to handle our events from several different divisions This allows us a very organized reporting factor as well as allowing us to use profiles to list all events related to that division. Having quick access to funds is also a plus as they deposit quickly into our account with easy tracking from the events.
  • Cross marketing and advertising of "like events".
  • Mobile sales and reporting.
  • Data collection on participants.
Cons
  • Grouping of "like" tickets within folders on event page.
  • More customization on the event page layout (adding videos, maps, etc in a block for easier layout customization).
  • Allow for a more "White Labeled" look.
  • Domain masking would be nice.
Great for quick registrations (parties, Galas, etc). Not so good for events where groups may return to buy extra tickets. Each purchase is an order in the reporting and it would be nice if the orders were grouped together to allow for easier reporting. If you have multiple price points but a limited amount that you are able to sell, you must modify the subsequent price point ticket availability to reduce overselling the event.
