Expensify is used by our organization for expense report management, integrated with our accounting ERP system, Intacct. It allows our mostly remote team to submit expense reports paperlessly and makes approval and reimbursement very easy.

  • It cannot filter out projects by status so even closed out project still appear available for employees to charge expenses to
  • They push their Expensify card on the users
  • They are expensive and raising prices
Expensify is a great, really easy to use expense report software that I have used for many years now. I think the ease of use is far superior to its main competitor Concur from both a user and admin standpoint. It is ideal for a company who wants to get away from paper receipts and reports because employees can simply snap a picture of a receipt and save it in the app so there is no need to hold onto receipts while traveling.
From an admin perspective, it is very easy to sync the system to Sage Intacct, easy to add and delete users and easy to set up approval flows that vary employee to employee.

My company uses Expensify to manage most employee expenses that we submit manually. Exceptions include ordering from shared business accounts with the business credit card already loaded into it, like Amazon Business. Otherwise, the fully-remote company I work for provides a set budget for specific activities and office supplies, then employees submit all these expenses to Expensify for approval.
  • Simple report and expense creation.
  • Clear error messages with prompts on how to correct the errors.
Cons
  • I can't think of any improvements! This is an excellent tool.
Expensify is user-friendly while also offering critical advanced features like SmartScan. I've now used this across two companies and all my coworkers have been satisfied with it!

We use Expensify for our expensing needs across the whole company. We are a startup in a growth stage and need a quick and easy way to do expenses across the board. There was a need for a solution that would for everyone where we could distinguish between stuff that are perks and stuff that isn't, but can be expensed.
  • Easy to use and onboard, very intuitive and self-explanatory.
  • They just came out with a card option which is great.
  • Good reporting capabilities.
Cons
  • Ability to remind approving managers that there is stuff pending.
  • Scanned the receipted and auto-filled the report.
I think it would work very well for a small to medium-sized company that has some sales that travel a lot and do a lot of expenses vs supporting a giant team with expenses. I really like it for everyday expenses but if you are traveling it can get cumbersome keeping all the receipts.

We use Expensify for numerous reasons:
  • Reimbursement for office tools/accessories
  • Reimbursement on travel expenses (meals, hotels, tickets, etc.)
  • Reimbursement for meetings (prospects, partners, clients)
  • Intuitive straight forward interface.
  • Quick and easy to create expenses and send to appropriate managers.
Cons
  • Navigating existing reports/adding to it can be a bit confusing at times.
  • Search function could be a bit better.
Any size business can leverage Expensify's solution. It's straightforward and provides all the capabilities needed for businesses to manage employee expenses.

Expensify is used across our entire organization to streamline expense submission and reimbursement.
  • Digital camera scanning works great, and the OCR (text recognition) is pretty spot-on.
  • It's very easy to edit expenses online or in the app.
Cons
  • I don't know of a way to make batch changes to expenses in a report.
When on the go during a business trip, it's very easy to take a picture of the receipt and add it to an expense report. You can clarify the details later and correct anything the scan might've gotten wrong. It even works on handwritten receipts, so it can even help with that little hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop where they wrote a receipt out just for you.
