It is a secure data networking platform that helps us to channel our information through a safe system. It provides reliable cloud support that streamlines network operations at every stage in the entire company. Automation of work processes has been a great role that has developed infrastructure to control all networking operations and monitor the production process. All our departments depend on Extreme VDX for improved operations and performance monitoring.
  • Hosting applications.
  • Controlling workflow processes.
  • Provision of security to all data channels.
  • Automation of network services.
  • The operation has been great with reliable portfolio performance.
  • I have not had any poor experience while working with this product.
My experience since I started working with Extreme VDX has been great and everything has been working effectively. I give it 10/10 in performance since it has never failed us during our normal operations. Networking across our company and WAN has been covered by powerful fabric technologies that enhance secure and transparent business operations. It supports both wired and wireless connections with switches that network them through our applications.
  • Enhancement of business analytics.
  • Encryption of data from end to end.
  • Provision of secure and flexible switches.
  • I have attested positive ROI.
  • Our business objectives have been achieved with reliable network.
I have not had an opportunity to use a similar featured platform in my networking journey. All I have learned is that Extreme VDX has great potential for controlling and managing networking operations in our company. The data analytics insights that we receive from data analysis have developed great planning and decision-making infrastructure. The speed of operation is always stable with high data transfer rate.

I have some Extreme VDXes on my website, which worked without problems. These are solid network equipment that continues to work with very little attention in my environment. I set NetAp 300 compatible with VDX and turns our entire environment into one varaque.
  • It is a user friendly tool.
  • It has high usability.
  • It's easy to configure.
  • I once had a problem with a USB drive and had a lot of trouble fixing it. We can use more documents and a better way to recover the drive. I understand the problems that every vendor faces with proprietary software. If you are a customer, this should not be a problem.
  • It has limited commands.
Extreme VDX is very suitable for any virtual environment. It is reliable and easy to configure and maintain. This is great for links between switches in connection between clusters. I like our cluster configuration, this allows you to update the integrated, without stopping upgrades. Attractiveness to testify to updates; it takes about 10 minutes for the chassis.
  • Easy to use
  • It has an affordable cost.
  • It could be a product in other fields of the network because it has been very trusted because it has been very recognized.
  • It has stable connection.

I use the VDX in my network to run my data center. This is a solid piece of network equipment that continues to operate in my environment with very little attention. I run the VDX inline with my NetApp AFF 300 and have totally virtualized our environment. The VDX is so very easy to configure and maintain. If you compare the configuration from this device against a Cisco you would be astounded at the number of commands you need to configure the Cisco site. The upgrades of the software have been seamless; I run a pair of VDXs in cluster mode and only miss a single ping when they failover for the restart. You also have the option to upgrade via a USB drive. The VDX really is an amazing piece of technology.
  • The VDX is very simple to configure.
  • Documentation on the product is amazing.
  • The VDX will interface with any data center hardware; there is interoperability with all the BIG vendors: Dell, EMC, NetApp.
  • I have a pair of VDXs running at my DR site that has been up for over 8 years without any issues!
  • I had issues with the USB drive once and had a devil of a time resolving. We could use a little more documentation and a better manner in which to recover the drive. I do understand the issues every vendor faces regarding proprietary software. If you are a customer, it should never be an issue.
  • The VDX has been a champ in my environment, if I had issues I could probably come up with additional comments.
  • I am glad that Extreme VDX has continued the VDX product line because it really is a phenomenal piece of hardware that was very well made.
The VDX is very well suited for any virtual environment; it is reliable along and easy to configure and maintain. It is great for inter-switch links on inter-cluster communication. I love our cluster configuration; allows for seamless, no downtime upgrades. It is actually fascinating to witness the upgrade; it takes about 10 minutes per chassis. This switch would not be well suited for intermediate distribution frame switching, it would be a waste of technology in an IDF!
  • The reliability of the VDX is most important to our organization.
  • Ability to upgrade without downtime allows the end user to keep software current.
  • The VDX is so very easy to configure.
  • Great documentation on a great piece of hardware.
  • We definitely have a great ROI on the VDX cluster at my DR site; 8 years without issue!
  • It takes so very little of my time because it has been so reliable, which allows me to be productive in other areas of the network.
  • After the transition from Brocade to Extreme VDX, it was a little rocky with the code at first but things have improved with R & D.
  • Cisco 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers (ASR 9000)
I selected Extreme VDX over Cisco for many reasons. The main gripe I personally have about Cisco is that Cisco forces end-users to accept billing for some capabilities or services that the customer may not want. The cost to purchase and maintain the VDX is a third of the cost that it takes to purchase and maintain a Cisco. Then you have the configuration; 20 lines of code to configure the VDX = about 120 lines of Cisco code... don't trust me, go check it out!
