We haven't used other texting services other than our personal phone to send out 100's of texts. Since that is the only comparison then EZ Text is 100% more efficient and easier to use than our personal phones.

We had been using an in-house, homegrown solution before we outgrew it and needed a specialized service. EZ Texting was selected because it came to the top of a Google search and has a pay-as-you-go option so if we didn't like it, it would be easy to move to something else.

I also use MoboMix texting. When I first starting looking at EZ texting I noticed their plans weren't feasible for me. Then, I was informed by an EZ texting representative that they also offer texting under MoboMix texting and you can purchase as many credits as you want. So, since I didn't need many we could purchase just a few, at a cost of $0.03 per credit. So now, I use MoboMix and EZ Texting. Their features are the same.

We use Omnilert for our internal staff communications, especially in the event of a facility-wide emergency. EZ Texting doesn't have the capabilities that we have found with Omnilert in sending out simple, pre-determined messages in emergency scenarios. EZ Texting does surpass Omnilert when it comes to communicating in simple mobile text communications with the public.

We used to use this product years ago. It was challenging to use; it required us to maintain a separate spreadsheet list of contacts that we had to import every time there was a change. And when a text message was sent, the failure rate was about 8-10%, and the process could take up to 20 minutes to complete. Data retrieval, although possible, was time-consuming.
