They all have different usages, Fuze makes it feel like we are using a phone even if we use it from our laptops. We also wanted to have one centralized VOIP system, for example, we have Webex as our meeting system and Slack as our instant messaging system. Definitely much cheaper than RingCentral and has better reliability.

It's only the fact that we ported our phone numbers to Fuze that made us adopt the solution, for a question of price and support. Meetings, Chat and the mobile application have great potential for improvement.

We looked at RingCentral as well. They are a big name out there right now. It was actually a tough choice between the two. We had demos of all the software and understood how things worked. In the end, Fuze just made more sense for us. It has solved our problems and fits our budget.

Incontact is expensive but seems to be the only option we have out right now that meets our needs. I would like to switch but our talks with Fuze didn't go very far because we have so much built with Incontact that it was hard to duplicate between fuze and Incontact.

8x8 has a solid platform, an all in one solution, and great support. We chose Fuze over 8x8 based on cultural fit and the clear desire to continue to build and to innovate at Fuze. That matches well with the modernization and transformation we're undertaking within our business at the same time. RingCentral didn't have a fully unified application. All features were available and similar in quality, but the experience wasn't fully integrated into a single pane. Vonage Business is clearly building in the right direction and through various acquisitions seems to have the right tools and functions around them. At the time, they simply hadn't proven that they could put those pieces together successfully and seamlessly just yet.

  • 8x8 X Series (Formerly Virtual Office)
SOOOO much better. So much more functionality, customizing options. You can set auto rules for when you're in meetings, and can skip the call to your mobile if you're running out of the office. Call quality is amazing. The support from 8X8 is excellent too. They come back to you, generally, within a couple of hours.

I listed Skype because Skype has very similar uses like Fuze, copies calling, inter-office chat, video chat, etc. I personally liked Fuze a lot better than Skype. Skype is a bit clunky, I am constantly having audio issues, and when it has been used for video-conferencing meetings the connection has been lost many times, the screen share did not work, and other issues. Also, I do not like the Skype app as much as the Fuze app. I listed HubSpot as well because you can also use the voice dial-er with HubSpot and it can record your calls. I did enjoy using HubSpot for calling and it recorded calls easily but I do not recall ever using a HubSpot app (or if there is a HubSpot app.) But HubSpot does not have the chat function which is different than Fuze if I remember correctly.

Teams and Slack where our predecessors to Fuze. Fuze is miles beyond both because the others lack the BPX integration to make them fully-featured. Teams did have a cleaner interface, and Slack did have a better team chat with replies and grouping. Overall, I think the loss of features is well worth the gain of not having a separate phone and meeting system.
We used GoToMeeting prior to Fuze. The integrity of the connection seems to be better with Fuze. Often with GoToMeeting, we would experience degradation of quality with video and audio. Not as often with Fuze.

Our use of ShoreTel at the time was extremely limited. We basically only used them for calling, so any VoIP system that at least did calling right worked for our needs. Fuze really looked and sounded exciting.

Fuze is vastly improved over Jive Hosted VoIP and Microsoft Teams, as it effectively combined the features of each of those products into one system. Instead of needing to train employees in Jive, Teams, and GoToMeeting, we can now focus efforts on a single platform for training and not have to worry about the implementation of the other services for new team members.

I've used alternative solutions (Skype/teams//Zoom/Avaya) and I did not get nervous when I hosted a meeting on any of these solutions. Fuze can be hit or miss whether it works and can others connect. Complicated system.

At the time we were looking, Fuze was the only UCaaS provider with enough global presence to get the Holland office a local number within the Fuze system, making it easy for us to manage both locations in one place. The pricing and features from Fuze, and the ability to consolidate voice, video, and text between our two offices under one platform drove the decision.

Fuze replaced Mitel for our organization. Mitel was costing us quite a bit of money and also needed to purchase physical handsets. Fuze was a lot quicker with setting up a new line. For Mitel, we had to login to an outdated system, had to program specific keys on the hardware phone as well we had to setup the hardware at the users desk. With Fuze, we provide the user with a login and a headset and they are good to go.

Post deployment we're currently reviewing the other unified communications solutions as Fuze is expensive per user when compared to other options available. Fuze has an advantage due to its PBX capabilities however licensing for non-PBX users is considerably higher then other vendors.

Fuze provided a solution out of the box without any expensive hardware on specialty skills to hire and maintain. Other services require additional hardware or license costs and make scaling a very difficult proposition. Fuze allows for us to take a true IaaS model and allocate the cost of each service to a department as opposed to taking the full cost hit in IT.
