I used GetResponse (GR) to capture the contact information for my website visitors, to send my subscribers a weekly e-mail newsletter, to contact them about product sales and to put people into a marketing funnel.
  • GetResponse (GR) makes it very easy to email people a sales letter and/or newsletter.
  • Thanks to GR's snazzy templates, my emails look way more professional than my graphic capabilities.
  • GR has the best mobile app - so easy to track open rates, etc.
  • I love all the free training that GR provides
  • I also love that their technical support is incredibly helpful - and responsive.
Cons
  • There's not too much room for improvement.
GetResponse was a great tool for me as a solopreneur. Their pricing was scaleable. When I first started, I didn't have a big list and the price was low. As my list (and profits) grew, my GR investment increased. And all their free training helped me grow my list.

Our marketing department uses GetResponse to send welcome emails to new customers and let them know about current discounts, deals or offers as well as what is going on with our company. We also send marketing emails to prospects that we meet at shows, events, and through other marketing endeavors that sign up for us.
  • The automation tool is visually appealing and nice when it works.
  • Stats are helpful.
  • None of it matters if emails won't even send to your lists that won't import.
Cons
  • Lists are rejected on baseless grounds.
  • They recommend a service to clean lists and even after being cleaned, emails and lists are rejected.
  • They purged 80% of our email list because they were not interacting regularly enough with our emails.
  • Their drag and drop editor is set up poorly, if you have similar look and feel emails there is no way to know which you are in.
  • Often email templates do not save and you have to start over.
  • Sometimes scheduled emails don't even send.
We signed with GetResponse at the beginning of the year for a full year, looking for something more robust than what we were previously using. I enjoyed the layout of their autoresponders, and after playing around in the free version, we decided it could be a good fit for us. Signed in January and experienced some problems off the bat (but I'm patient and I understand launching takes some time... no problems). We imported all of our contacts -- several thousand -- and our lists were rejected. Strange, as these were legitimate contacts from company sources that I had been emailing for years successfully. I imported them in smaller chunks and found more success, until we were told in February that our account was under review for spam behavior. To resolve, we allowed them to 'clean' our lists -- legitimately cut from 15k to 6k, and began to use their recommended BriteVerify to clean our lists before adding in the future. Frustrating, time consuming, not ideal... but we had already paid for the year and didn't have the budget to change email services. Their drag and drop editor gave us a lot of grief most days, but besides that we didn't have any more rejected lists, and no issues I was aware of until this morning, I received an email letting us know our account has been deactivated, we cannot get our email lists or templates back from our accounts, cannot log in, and a refund will not be issued. To say we are frustrated is an extreme understatement. I've seen their awards, success stories, top 10 email service provider mentions... The truth is that they are unwilling to work with customers who are unhappy and provide no legitimate warnings before terminating services. Now we are stuck without an email service provider (that we paid for through December) in the middle of several Marketing campaigns, and with a limited budget to find someone else for the remainder of the year.

We use GetResponse for email marketing and marketing automation. It is our principal email marketing technology that we use. Email marketing is critical to our in-bound marketing approach. We selected GetResponse because it has a relatively low-cost marketing automation features to a full-featured email marketing system. We were in the market because we had previously used another low-cost marketing automation system, Automational, which was discontinued by its owner. There was a huge gap in price between products like GetResponse and full marketing automation systems like HubSpot, InfusionSoft, Marketo and others.
  • GetResponse's email templating is very good. We find the email creation process to be easy to understand and use.
  • GetResponse's wordpress integration works well for us. Using their widgets significantly increased our newsletter sign-up results.
  • GetResponse's activity tracking with each contact is easy to use and fairly easy to understand.
Cons
  • While the documentation is good, some processes are not particularly intuitive.
  • Adding contacts manually is somewhat confusing and tedious.
  • The marketing automation list of website visitors is a contact list as opposed to a report.
GetResponse is a low-cost marketing automation/email marketing solution. I(f you need automation and website tracking in addition to basic email marketing, GetResponse is a strong contender. It also includes a strong landing page creation tool. If you need marketing automation and have a limited budget, this is one to strongly consider. On the other hand, if you need the high-end tools offered by HubSpot and others, you will likely be disappointed.

GetResponse Does Exactly What It Says It Will Do

In my job, we implement a lot of different Email and Online Marketing platforms we inherit a lot of what people are already using. We're always a pleasantly surprised when a client already has GetResponse in place. GetResponse makes marketing email easy while giving you powerful automation tools to move people through your funnel.
  • Easy and powerful email editor for the novice and advanced user.
  • Powerful automation and conversion tools to fully automate your funnel.
  • The design direction of the reporting makes it really easy to ingest all the things that really matter.
Cons
  • The tag system can take some getting used to particularly if you're more accustomed to separating your contacts into different lists.
We use GetResponse with our marketing clients who need a versatile marketing tool beyond sending monthly newsletters. If a client fits into a free tier of a different email marketing company and sends out less than 15 emails per year, GetResponse is probably overkill. However, once a client starts building a bigger list and requires more contact GetResponse is a good option.

We use Getresponse (GR) for (A) email marketing via autoresponders and broadcast emails (B) landing page development for some campaigns. The system has proven excellent on both fronts - especially noting the high delivery rates of emails. Furthermore, their 24*7 chat support is a definite plus for businesses since most of the queries get resolved quickly
  • Autoresponders
  • Broadcast emails
  • Email marketing automation
  • List management (including list quality)
Cons
  • GetResponse forms yet do not integrate very well with platforms likes studiopress
  • "content locker" is still not available
1. Ease of use that is superbly complemented by a 24*7, co-operative support team 2. Intuitive user interface that makes it very easy for anyone to pick up and gain proficiency 3. compliance with the very best practices in the email marketing niche' (4) the landing page builder too, is very easy to use and will suffice for initial campaigns (Saving associated costs)
