With 1:1 Chromebook implementation in an inner-city middle school, it was vital for us to have a program to monitor the usage by students. We are able to create boundaries for web browsing that allows our students to use online tools in a safe environment. Our students understand that we want them to freely use their device in school appropriate ways, but that we are able to monitor where they are and block inappropriate sites for our setting.
- Ease of set-up and use.
- Ability to monitor students in real time.
Cons
- The initial learning curve of the program took some time, but then was easy to follow.
- We were only able to start using it after our IT department sent our classes to us.

- It allows us real-time information to handle situations.
- It has increased students adherence to online behavior norms.
I have used Hapara in a previous school district. GoGuardian is more user-friendly and easier to setup. I do think GoGuardian has some room on improving the ease of finding some areas of the program, but once you know the path to get there it is quick.
