It is very easy to start with Google Analytics. Adding it to any site is a very less complicated process. If you are using any of the well known frameworks then just adding a module or plugin or extension handles integration with Google Analytics.
And even if you are not using any plugins or modules then just adding the Javascript code snippet that Google Analytics provides will handle everything for you.

Google Analytics is a great tool to give insight into your websites. That said, it is exactly that - a tool - so you will need to learn how to best use this tool for your specific needs. For our ecommerce sites, Google Analytics provides many ways to slice and dice our web traffic so we know what's happening in our stores.

It's pretty good, but there are some things around the edges that require more clicks than I'd like, such as very common multi-dimensional drills (like traffic source and page type), or very initial traffic exploration (where all the menus on the left start collapsed and you have to remember where your dimension is among some vague terms like "Acquisition" and "Audience" and "Behavior" etc)

Google Analytics provides a wealth of data, down to minute levels. That is it's greatest detriment: find the right information when you need it can be a cumbersome task. You are able to create shortcuts, however, so it can mitigate some of this problem.
Google is continually refining Analytics, so I do not doubt there will be improvements.
