We used Google drive to share files and keep track of files that were updated. Most of us worked remotely so this was a good way for us to manage our projects. The status updates to the right hand side was also a great way to keep track of updates to the drive. This was an added layer of confirmation that something was uploaded or received by someone else.
  • Great way to organize files that you have uploaded.
  • Status update bar on the right-hand side did a great job of keeping everyone up-to-date.
  • Easy layout design makes for a good user flow.
Cons
  • I would love for the opportunity for a better file retrieval process/or an added layer of confirmation when someone accidentally deletes a file.
  • Google drive would be great if there was a better way to give permissions to different users. i.e., these users can only upload but cannot delete any files, these users have limited access to certain files within a file structure, etc.
  • An easier way to select an individual on the drive and see what files you have shared with them (I'm not sure if this is currently a functionality within google drive).
It's well suited for situations that require a collaborative effort across multiple people, especially when they work remotely. These situations can include scenarios where there are students working on a college project or a small startup that has employees working in different locations that easily need to share files. Most of the files we work on are too large to send via email, the Google drive share process makes it easy for someone who may not even have a Google account to access the files.

Easy to use for storage and collaboration

Google Drive provides you with cloud storage. For the first-time user, they provide 15GB of free space. It is useful for data backup and file sharing among teams/friends. We also use it for saving our Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Photos, and all. It is really easy to use. It also provides you with a directory structure where you can make folders according to your needs. This is also a really good software for collaborative work with team members.
  • Secure and easy to use
  • Fast sync
  • Collaborative work
  • Free space of 15GB
  • Strong community and customer support
Cons
  • Low uploading speed
  • Searching is little bit slow
  • Time-based sharing can also be incorporated
It is recommended for data backup and for saving various documents or images that are really important for your organization. Anyone can access them whenever they need to. If data is not very important, then you can create a backup in your own storage device. But Google Drive will also save the cost of saving the data.

Easy to use, easily accessible, and great for collaborative projects.

Google Drive has allowed both myself and other colleagues of mine the ability to access documents conveniently and efficiently regardless of where we are working from. It also gives us the opportunity to work on projects as a collaboration and see each other's notes and edits in real time, which helps everyone in terms of project deadlines.
  • Collaborative workspace
  • Real-time revisions
  • Easily accessible regardless of location
Cons
  • Some of the features in the Google Slides can provide more creativity
  • Connection issues tend to happen from time to time
  • There are no other features I believe would need to be added to suit our organization's needs
During a time where many employees have switched their workspace to working from home, being able to access documents without using a vpn or encountering a document that's being edited by someone else, google drive has become a necessity. Our projects require a lot of collaboration and constant proofing, so being able to work alongside each other and see the revisions and edits as they happen has resolved many issues for us.

Cost effective, easy to use, some limitations

We use Drive for storing all of our documents, creating spreadsheets and decks, and collaborating on all documents, sheets, etc. We sometimes share Drive folders with clients to collaborate externally as well. I also use Drive for my personal and educational documents/materials and storage. I use Google Drive daily.
  • Collaboration/sharing
  • Folders/organization
  • Easy to create/generate new docs, etc.
  • All in one place
Cons
  • Better search; it's hard to find the docs I need when the search isn't very accurate or intuitive
  • Increased storage
  • Easier to copy docs and transfer them to other accounts
Great for personal and educational use and for a small workload. It can get confusing and tricky when using for a large team or enterprise, or when a lot of data sharing is necessary as file and folder organization can get messy and the search function does not work well so it's difficult to find files.

Easy to access and easy to share with Google Drive.

We use this software basically for storage purposes. People from every department use this software for storing their data and access it virtually from any device at any time. It is helpful for me to sync my system and keep backing up my data from my system. And since I access that data even if I am not in my office, it increases my productivity.
  • Being a Google product it is very well integrated with other Google services and I can use it with my Google account.
  • It makes sharing any data file very easy. One-click and I can share my data with my colleagues.
  • Dashboard navigation is very easy and quick. It does not confuse users.
  • Its offline mode helps me to work when I have no internet.
Cons
  • Sometimes I feel the upload speed is slightly slow even if the internet speed is fast.
  • It does not allow users to copy folders the way they can be copied with keyboard shortcuts on computers.
  • I am not very confident about the security which Google provides for our data. The way Google tracks users activity and provides advertisements, it's difficult to trust.
This software is very good at backing up system data. By doing this I save my important data and I can access that data from anywhere and on any device by logging in to this software. I share my important files with my colleagues through this software. After uploading my files on this software I share links of it to my colleagues and they easily access those files.
