Google voice is used for long distance calls that save a lot of money and at the same time it offered a great call without interference or voice lag. This service provides a free number or a owned number which you can purchase and facilitates the ease of communication between a customer and the representative.
  • Great for landline calls or mobile numbers
  • It has its own system for messaging
  • You can store unlimited amount of contacts without any cost
  • With the owned number, you can have access to caller ID
Cons
  • Sometime it lags when the call mailbox is full
  • Some messages bounce back when writing more than 250 characters
  • No access to buy other number with the same account
Coming from Google, this is a great app and service that they offer, I cannot complain about it. The main feature I recommend others to use is the voice calling feature, because is a smooth and straight communication compared to other competitors. Going through your call logs may help to determine your daily goals.

  • Ability to port calls across multiple numbers.
  • Access to call/ message and voicemail history on the app as well as on the webpage (computer, tablet etc).
  • Voicemail to transcribed text.
  • Call blocking, especially with the 'Number Disconnected' prompt.
Cons
  • The details on the web do not get refreshed fast enough. The interface is jittery.
Suited for local phone use. Harder for international dialers to adapt. However it is extremely useful while traveling overseas.

We have a call center to recruit participants for research studies. Google Voice not only allowed us to issue new phone numbers to our call staff, but they could use these Google Voice numbers on their own phones without needing to expose their phone number. There are also great voicemail features that will send a transcript of a voicemail to the users email address.
  • Grants additional phone number that can be used on an existing device
  • Voicemail transcription
  • Voicemail access from email or browser
Cons
  • Occasionally it can be difficult to manage two different phone lines on one device, and new users may have difficulty switching between them.
[Google Voice is] great if you have a workforce that needs to make calls for business purposes from their personal mobile device, while keeping their personal phone number private. If you have a large company with its own telecom system, it probably won't be necessary if employees already have their own landlines or separate work phones.

I use Google Voice to manage my personal phone to avoid the need to carry multiple phones or give out multiple numbers. Being able to give out a single number and know that I can manage when and where it reaches me was a primary motivation for using Google Voice. Additional benefits like transcribed voicemail and web access are also great.
  • Voicemail transcription.
  • Call routing.
  • Support for multiple devices.
Cons
  • Dynamic scheduling.
  • Desktop support.
  • Integration with other systems.
Google Voice has worked well for me personally, but the setup and ongoing maintenance can be overwhelming. It may be difficult to implement in an environment where individual users are not highly engaged or involved in the setup. I'm also not confident recommending specific porting options as they seem to be confusing to understand the details of.

I use Google Voice today as the primary phone number for my business. Google Voice is a telephony service that provides call forwarding and voicemail services, voice and text messaging, as well as U.S. and international calling. I use the web and mobile app and have never had any issues. I love the option to send to voicemail or answer the call.
  • It's free!
  • Call forwarding.
  • Voice to text works well.
Cons
  • Not much I would change.
  • Free international calling.
I can't think of a negative point about Google Voice, there are just so many things it does right!
