Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

Rescue rescued me

Depending on the situation, Rescue would probably be my first choice against the other products I've listed above, except for personal use (ie remote logging into my computer from my smart phone). As long as the connection is good on both ends it's a useful tool to help navigate for the customer or trouble shoot any software issues the customer is having.

  • Cisco Webex Social (Discontinued)
Rescue is by no small margin superior to Webex. Webex was unreliable, required a nine-digit code and confused customers when trying to establish connections. At the time it also did not allow you to automatically reconnect after a reboot, meaning we'd have to manually reconnect each time. I also recall it being generally slower during screen sharing connections.

Unstable internet connection: connections are occasionally lost. I cannot control other devices in my local network without an internet connection. Transferring a large file is not practical with this tool. Sometimes, when connectivity problems arise, it is very hard to get it done in time. At that time, you are tired.

  • SolarWinds Dameware Remote Support (DRS) and TeamViewer
UI (user interface) is pretty easy to use, you can use rescue from a desktop version or the web when others such as dameware you needed to have the software installed and the affected user needed to be on VPN, so you could take over their system.
TeamViewer is good but with Rescue you can link your chat support team members and rescue to work from the same system.
Other benefits in rescue is that you can add Ticket to track your IT personnel usage for reporting purpose. For instance if you want to track-down how many sessions the agent A did on a day and link the Ticket from your ITSM system with the information in rescue. I didn't see this option in other tools.

  • Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Microsoft Intune + SCCM)
Rescue is much better than SCCM as it supports more features, can see multiple screens rather than just one (main) on SCCM, reconnects automatically on connection drops, and the file transfer feature is very useful.

I think Rescue allowed me a little more freedom to operate the way I preferred over GoTo Connect. I think my staff, which is not full-time, also told me that, as a whole, they felt a bigger difference in efficiency with Rescue over any other system we had tried over the years, so I have to listen to my crew!

We attempted to use Webex and Gotomeeting, but the value and the feature set that Logmein Rescue has is definitely worth the pricing. I believe Logmein Rescue can be improved upon UI-wise, but the actual functionality and licensing terms using recurring sessions vs. seats is a massive plus for them.

  • SolarWinds Dameware Remote Support (DRS)
SolarWinds Dameware is the cheaper option by far and had the ability to be remotely deployed, but it was limited to PCs and users within our domain. Rescue allows us to connect to our systems that are in locations that are off our primary domain and gives us a secure environment to allow vendors remote access if we require their assistance. Rescue has become the standard for our IT department to provide assistance to regular users and we have now leveraged that to allow engineering resources to support the production lines.

Teams does not handle UAC prompts or reboots well. Rescue allows to get around this issue as well as being able to run reports, scripts, and automatically reconnect on reboot. Teams also has limited sharing capabilities and we needed a tool that also supported mobile phones for harder support issues.

for restarts Logmein is better for speed teams is better, so if you want to get a fast session teams scores higher for deep dive sessions Logmein is great also like the interface for seeing logs on Logmein and stopping processes from running easily and quick. File transfer is better in teams.

When we evaluated Citrix Workspace a few years ago the app environment was not as easy to use as LogMeIn Rescue. Things may have changed but we have not gone back to re-evaluate. Some of our team members still use TeamViewer and the product is rated as highly as Rescue among it's users.

I was horrible, this was not by ANY means an easy-to-use product to support end-users. We attempted several times to utilize that and possibly switch from Rescue, however, it is NOT user friendly at all, the end-users had to be walked through step by step the process to use it,

Teams works great for larger meetings but I find it more difficult to control the remote machine compared to LogMeIn Rescue. Teams does integrate with Office Outlook more effectively. GoToAssist works well but some users struggle to connect and the links are much longer, making it more difficult for a user to utilize. GoToAssist doesn't automatically send a link as you can do with LogMeIn.
