GoToMeeting is used by my company to present our cloud-based services to prospective clients, to train new clients, and to conduct internal training. It is used across the whole organization. The majority of our sales are made over the phone, so presenting effectively via a web-based service is essential to our success. Additionally, most of our training is conducted via GoToMeeting, so it is an essential tool for our entire sales and implementation process.
  • GoToMeeting is flexible. I can present my product at anytime to anyone who has access to the internet.
  • GoToMeeting is reliable. I have never experienced an "outage" of GoToMeeting.
  • GoToMeeting is simple. Even potential clients who are "low level" technology users can use GoToMeeting.
  • GoToMeeting documents who is attending my presentation, and I can communicate via text with one person or the whole group, so if there are some issues I can quickly address them.
  • GoToMeeting works best with MS PowerPoint, and not so great with "open office" products.
  • Sometimes my clients' screens go to screen saver mode because they have had no activity on their end. It would be nice if GoToMeeting was able to "ping" their computer to keep their monitor active.
  • It would be nice if I had a visual indicator when a client joined an active session. Sometimes people join late, and if they don't call the audio line I don't know they have joined.
GoToMeeting is a great tool for presenting our cloud-based service. I am able to present real-world scenarios, focus on the features that my client most needs, and spend as much or as little time on my presentation as I need.
  • GoToMeeting allows us to schedule potential clients into "group" presentations at pre-scheduled times. Any sales person can conduct the demonstration. This is more efficient for our organization.
  • GoToMeeting allows us to close business much more faster than if we depended on "onsite" presentations. This provides an incredible cost savings as well as time savings.
GoToMeeting is easy to use - for both me and my clients. It is an effective way to present my service, and I am able to close business using GoToMeeting.

GoToMeeting is used across our entire organization. It provides us a way to speak internally - we have consulting groups in Europe and Asia and we use GoToMeeting to share screens when it comes to reviewing documents or cases. It allows us to do things like this pretty easily and quickly.
  • The screen share is great. We use it often; we find that it works better for us than Microsoft Lync.
  • It allows us to keep track of who is in a conference call so there is no guesswork involved.
  • The above separate GoToMeeting from other similar solutions; it is the one that we prefer.
  • Honestly, I've never had an issue with GoToMeeting, in all of the time that I've used it. It loads quickly, the call quality is clear, and the screen sharing is awesome. Any issues that have come up when I'm using GoToMeeting were a result of technical issues on my side or on the side of the other person, not with GoToMeeting.
We (my team) have conference calls with merchants of different sizes on a regular basis, maybe 15-20 times a week; I don't know that GoToMeeting would work for every call or in every situation, because many of the merchants that we speak with are not very tech savvy and don't want to or feel comfortable with downloading a conference calling application. We use InterCall for these conversations because it is as simple as dialing a number and putting in a conference code, no links to click on.
  • We use it for more internal things, and occasionally external conversations, so the ROI isn't an issue with us.
Previously explained.
InterCall is very simple, in the sense that it is just a phone number and a conference call, which works with the merchant base that we consult with. Many of them do not feel comfortable clicking on a link to download something from a company that they are not familiar with.
It really works for us, for what we use it for. Like I said, we don't use it for every call, but the times that we need to use it and do, we have not had any issues with it at all.

Our company uses it to interact with one another for company meetings since we are in different states. On the sales side, we use it for showing live demonstrations to customers and for training on our software for current clients. Overall, GoToMeeting is leveraged by everyone in the company that is located in the United States.

Because we cannot always meet in person, it helps with collaboration both internally as well as externally.
  • Clear signal and voice clarity is a strength. Of all of the different web conferencing softwares I have used, GoToMeeting is the most reliable and rarely has interruptions.
  • Multiple country support is great. GoToMeeting is able to provide local dial in numbers for most of the major countries my company interacts with.
  • The ability to change presenters and provide mouse control for others has been valuable. I can't count how many times a day I use this feature. There is hardly any delay in controlling another persons computer.
  • I would like to see more countries supported for local dial in numbers.
  • GoToMeeting does not support integration with Outlook for Mac. This is something many folks would find highly useful.
  • Unlike some other software providers, GoToMeeting doesn't have the ability to let guests interact digitally with "hand-raising", and emoticons.
This software is best suited for those that engage primarily with colleagues and clients via the web for demonstrations and teleconferencing where visuals are needed. If teleconferencing is the only need, there are more affordable alternatives and some are even free.

Questions to ask would be 1. Am I going to be sharing my screen/desktop with others? 2. What countries will I need to interact with? 3. What level of moderator controls do I need?
  • Very high ROI. I have closed several deals without the need to meet face to face.
  • Having the ability to create meetings on the fly has been tremendous for my team and helping speed up the training process.
  • Hosting webinars for prospects using GoToMeeting has delivered a great number of qualified leads.
  • Webex,ClearSlide
While there are surely areas of overlap, GoToMeeting provides the most friendly user interface. Sharing your screen and choosing which monitor to display is incredibly easy compared to the others. I have also found that navigating through the software with no guidance is much easier in GoToMeeting than in the other providers.
Having to implement another software company wide would be troubling and would disrupt business. Because so many of our team members have used GoToMeeting in the past, it has decreased the learning curve in understanding how to use each of the nuances the software provides. In addition, the ease of use for our clients and prospects is much easier than using another provider.
