We use Greenhouse as our primary ATS. It helps us collect and organize all data regarding candidates and helps us drive our recruiting strategies and efforts towards our hiring goals.
  • Organizing candidate and job information.
  • Analyzing basic data/reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with other stakeholders and other recruiters on a role.
  • Integration with workday - the data gets very messy and there are usually issues when we try to integrate data to and from GH and workday.
  • Advanced reporting/analytics.
  • Auditing stale candidates.
Greenhouse is great if you want to tailor your roles and add various stages. It's great for both small and large organizations to streamline the recruiting process. The platform may not be intuitive for hiring managers or other people who are not using it on a daily basis.

We use Greenhouse as our Applicant Tracking System ( ATS) in our Talent Acquisition Department. Greenhouse helps with the overall recruiting process. It does help with onboarding but we don't use that particular function for our needs. The main business problem Greenhouse addresses is helping keep the interview process organized from start to finish. It is a one stop system where you can do the following: Job Postings: easily post jobs to your career site with one click Collect candidate feedback/Evaluation forms in a timely manner with auto generated emails Generate customized reports of candidates that can be exported to google docs or excel Track candidates in various interview stages Ability to create a specialized interview plan for various jobs Greenhouse has a number of integrations with many other companies so it really helps streamline certain processes. There is an integration of a variety of platforms i.e Codility, Linkedin Recruiter, background check, diversity sourcing etc that Greenhouse integrates with. I'm easily able to import candidate profiles/data with one click into Greenhouse via the Linkedin Talent integration! It really helps make my life easier and I'm able to spend more time sourcing vs manually uploading and entering info.
  • Interview scheduling. Greenhouse makes it easy for recruiting coordinators to schedule interviews for candidates. Greenhouse integrates with your google calendar and has an integration even with outlook calendar. When scheduling, you can see in Greenhouse itself when an interviewer is available or not. Therefore, you do not need to go back and forth from Google calendar and then greenhouse. With the "schedule all" feature, you are also able to schedule multiple interviews. This really helps in scheduling interviews fast and in a timely manner.
  • Reporting. Greenhouse lets you create customized reports. I've created reports ranging from sources of candidate hire, employee referrals, time to fill for certain positions. There's also a set of created reports that Greenhouse provides. The best part of Greenhouse's reporting capabilities is the fact that with one click you can easily export to google docs or excel. I've had issues with other ATS's that I've used in the past where a report would take hours to generate. With greenhouse, a report is generated in seconds.
  • Greenhouse Support. I have to say Greenhouse support is world class. No phone calls or being put on hold for hours. Instead there is a support chat button and you are able to connect with a representative really fast. I'm able to get a problem solved faster since the reps are really well-trained. There is no back and forth.
  • Candidate Feedback/ Notifications. Greenhouse enables you to customize on who you want to receive candidate evaluation feedback. I am able to add on an hiring manager to evaluation notifications or another key interviewer. When an evaluation form or scorecard as Greenhouse calls is filled out, I get an email with the feedback. This is great when I'm traveling and I'm unable to check in greenhouse itself. Instead, I can check my email and see the info accordingly. I also like the fact that you can customize the evaluation form with detailed requirements. There is even the ability to set the evaluation forms to private so the interview team cannot view it. We set it private as this helps prevent interview bias.
  • Interview Kit - Greenhouse has a great interview kit for interviewers. When an interviewer receives an invite to interview, they receive a customized link that takes them to the evaluation form, candidate's resume, cover letter. In addition, in the interview kit, we put a customized set of questions for the specific interviewer.
  • When you first get greenhouse, it does take time to set up. Greenhouse could help to provide a smoother transition in the beginning.
  • The mobile app has some glitches and there's been times it has froze on me. I think it could be improved upon.
  • There is a sharing jobs to social media function where you can easily post automated job postings to your linkedin, facebook, twitter. I'd like to have Greenhouse be able to tell me which of our employees consistently post the most job postings to their social media.
Greenhouse is well suited in the following scenarios: If your a growing company, Greenhouse is worth the investment. (Pricing is based upon headcount.) The interface in my opinion is very easy to use and you can easily train interviewers and hiring managers how to use key functions. Greenhouse provides a variety of materials including youtube videos on training. If your looking for a solid ATS system, Greenhouse is the probably the best one around. I have been in recruiting for over 10 years and used a variety of ATS's but none have the superior functionality as Greenhouse does. I like the fact that greenhouse integrates well with many sourcing platforms. I am able to spend less time manually uploading data and more time with doing what I love: Sourcing! Regardless of company size, I think Greenhouse can meet the needs of most companies. I do see many startups use it more but it is well suited for most. The automation of greenhouse, the customized reports, the exceptional support, and the fact that it is so easy to use, are the reasons we decided keep using Greenhouse.

We use it as our ATS. It helps us manage all of our candidates, run reports, and communicate with candidates. This tool is very helpful for keeping the entire company's candidates in one database...so every candidate has basically the same experience regardless of what role they interview for. This helps the Talent Acquisition team remain on task, organized and provide reporting information.
  • Have templates that are used to send to candidates for communication.
  • User friendly interface.
  • Well organized job requisitions.
  • The reporting could be more granule and customizable.
  • Sometimes they move buttons around without announcing it.
It works very well for candidate management and communication. It has an easily viewable dashboard that provides clear status snapshots of what is happening live. It could be more helpful in easily pulling up previous / rejected candidates. Sometimes trying to access older history can be a little more arduous... but it's not unreasonable.

We use Greenhouse as an ATS primarily for both our lateral and campus recruiting to schedule interviews, organize processes, and engage with hiring managers. We have also recently been using Greenhouse to advance our DEI goals by collecting candidate information and running reports to benchmark where we are at as a company.
  • Clear features.
  • User experience.
  • Candidate experience - pronouns, pronunciation, etc.
  • Dashboard organization.
  • Scheduled emails - want to see the content of these.
  • Error messages when adding candidates to a Google Meet invite - "doesn't recognize interviewer".
Greenhouse is well-suited for scheduling, application review, and scorecards. I think the reporting features and tagging can sometimes be less accurate and lead to more manual work.

We use Greenhouse primarily for recruiting and job boards. Before Greenhouse, we were using an antiquated system with limited connectivity and analytics. With Greenhouse - we are able to modernize our recruiting process, connect with additional CRMs and use their out-of-the-box analytics reports to make decisions on job postings.
  • Reports.
  • Integration.
  • Ease of Use.
  • Support.
  • Data reporting on Job Stage Changes.
  • Fresher look on the backend.
  • Price is pretty high.
Greenhouse has an option of taking a photo of a resume and it will import it into the user's profile. This is extremely important for our recruiters at college job fairs. It eliminates the paper resume mess and streamlines the entire college recruitment process. This was one of the most important features that sold our company on their product.

I am the data analyst that pulls data from the greenhouse API and runs metrics for the TA team. I support users in pulling data and creating processes that support data collection throughout the recruiting process.
  • Customer Service.
  • Their CRM is useless.
  • Scheduling tool isn't great.
  • API data fields don't always work.
It does the job for recruiters but there's nothing that it does particularly well. It's simply average in every way, and less than average in certain ways. The tools they create are usually not the greatest. Example: Implemented a new scheduling tool and it missed major features like self-scheduling and automation. The CRM is really bad and the connectors to resources like LinkedIn are not user friendly, nothing auto-populates and it doesn't force users to include required fields like source or recruiter.

We use Greenhouse as an external and internal applicant tracking system. The tool is primarily used by our Recruiting team as well as Hiring Managers during the interview process. We are heavy users of the score cards functionality which is very customizable and robust. Last year we also launched the Diversity and Inclusion features.
  • Score cards- very customizable and provide ability to track more tangible and objective feedback
  • Customizable offer templates- allows you to store many different offer templates that you can pick from
  • Branded look and feel
  • Customizable security roles
  • Integrations/API- very limited integration capabilities due to inability to store a lot of demographic information about the job that can then be passed to an HRIS with minimal manual data entry. HR still has to key in a lot of job demographic details about new hires. It would be great if Greenhouse was able to store more of this data and pass it on to other systems via integrations.
  • Custom Reporting- our teams are often unable to report on certain data in a way needed at the company level for analysis and this leads to having to dump data into a BI tool so we can report on it in the specific way we need to.
Greenhouse works best for companies using Job Management where one Job Req. can be used to fill multiple open positions, but job demographics are not used to differentiate between these positions. If you are using Position Management where each open position represents a separate Job Req. and headcount, the lack of robust reporting and integrations may become a hurdle in achieving maximum automation during system integrations, mainly with an HRIS.

Our talent acquisition team primarily uses Greenhouse to calibrate the hiring process so that every candidate is measured on the same parameters irrespective of any bias. One member of the hiring team is unable to see the feedback of the other members, thus making sure that the existing feedback doesn't cloud one's judgement. Each interview has a specific objective and a corresponding scorecard to assess the candidate, which makes sure that the hiring manager is making the assessment for different candidates on the same performance metrics. The final hiring decision is made after collating the feedback of the entire hiring panel, making the process more unbiased and fair for the candidates.
  • Candidate scoring and assessment occurs within the system and one needs to submit the evaluation within 24 hours of the interview.
  • Greenhouse comes with a scheduling tool, which helps the recruitment team coordinate with the candidate for the time slots in accordance with the hiring panel availability.
  • Greenhouse provides complete control and flexibility to customize the recruitment process for different roles and positions and also integrate existing solutions like Google Meet and Zoom for video interviews, which is imperative in current pandemic times.
  • There is no way to configure different access for different users
  • Scheduling functionality has bugs, and very often one needs to go directly to Outlook or Google Calendar for scheduling interviews
  • Pricing is on the higher side, which can prove very expensive for smaller companies
Greenhouse is a great tool for applicant tracking and structuring interviews, though the interface looks a bit clunky. Different stakeholders in the hiring process are able to collaborate during the entire process via Greenhouse and also makes the hiring more streamlined by providing interview toolkits to the interviewer, which has everything available at a single place to conduct the interview. Also the interviewer can mention certain comments which can be visible to the other interviewers.

We use Greenhouse as our ATS. We also use it to help debrief and compile packets for hiring or no hire decisions.
  • Applicant tracking
  • Pipeline visibility
  • Collaboration
  • No AI
  • No metrics
  • Dashboard integration non existent
If you want to track applicants, create hiring packets and make the candidate experience simple, Greenhouse is great. The one deficiency is there are no visual dashboards of pipelines. It would be great to have a Tableau connector

Our entire company uses Greenhouse for recruiting. We switched to it about 4 years ago although I can't remember which software we used before we had Greenhouse. We use it to log candidate feedback, provide instructions for interviewers, and track candidate progress as they move through the various interview stages at HubSpot.
  • The referral process for people to add their referrals to HubSpot is a great feature and allows our Recruiting team to track the timing of referrals.
  • When interviewing candidates Greenhouse allows you to customize the questions that your interviewers ask.
  • I personally like the fact that I can have Greenhouse up while interviewing and take all my notes right in the application.
  • The UI of Greenhouse can be confusing when you start and the tutorials aren't in-app or all that helpful.
  • Bulk updating approvals on jobs can be really time-consuming because you have to do it manually.
  • There are plenty of canned reports but it would be nice if you could customize more of the reports.
Greenhouse is great for our needs at a company of over 3,000 people. We have 8 different departments that all use it for full-funnel interviewing and recruiting needs. I think it would still work for a smaller company because none of the software feels "enterprisey" but since I haven't used it at another company I'm not sure exactly where it would fall short or work for smaller companies.

Greenhouse is used across our entire organization. With our rapid growth, it is extremely valuable to have an online portal that we check when we come across a possible candidate. Referrals are huge in our growth and continued success and Greenhouse helps provide a level of transparency into available positions. It will also help you track a referral through their interview process.
  • Referrals
  • Interview process tracking
  • Makes everyone an effective recruiter
  • Updates during the interview process can be delayed
  • Duplicate referrals
One aspect of Greenhouse that I use quite often is the ability to create a custom URL for a specific job posting. I can then go and publish that link on social media and if someone applies via that link, I will get the referral credit (if they're hired). Great addition!

My organization uses Greenhouse in all HR recruiting efforts including candidate screening, tracking, interviewing and hiring. Greenhouse is a great, centralized place for everyone on a hiring team to access candidate information, record notes, score candidates and more. We're also able to immediately submit whether or not candidates should be pushed through to the next stage of the hiring process. Additionally, we're able to track referrals for our own internal referral reward program.
  • Usability
  • Tracking
  • Information inclusion
  • Customizability
  • Conference/video set up
Greenhouse is excellent for a collaborative, involved HR recruiting process. Our organization is still less than 200 people, so I'm not sure how it would work for larger enterprises.

Greenhouse has allowed for my organization to scale its talent acquisition efforts. It has automated almost every administrative task in regards to recruiting. It is a scheduling tool, a collaborative environment, and a place to house data all-in-one. It is used widely here between HR and our hiring managers/interviewers and allows for us to make data driven decisions that impact our hiring strategies. Not only does it solve the administrative nightmare of recruiting, it also allows for us to scale our recruiting efforts with a small team as it automates much of the frustrating time-consuming tasks. Several other features of Greenhouse allow us to see how we are tracking against our own benchmarks which is much appreciated when reviewing our successes with stakeholders.
  • Organize job requisitions and resumes with pertinent information.
  • Schedules interviews with candidates and integrates with calendar softwares.
  • Sometimes there are bugs with the calendaring system that can be resolved.
  • Specific nuances in workflow.
Greenhouse is well suited if you have an organization where recruiting is a top priority and hiring top talent is the standard. Small to mid sized businesses will most likely be the perfect market.
Greenhouse is not well suited if you are an existing organization that has more than 1,000 employees.

We had a great experience using Greenhouse for the complete applicant lifecycle, from recruiting to hiring to onboarding. The tool provided a seamless workflow every step of the way, and excels at clear communication and status reporting from all stakeholders. We used Greenhouse to simplify our recruiting and hiring pipeline.
  • Ensuring hiring process is equitable.
  • Dashboards to provide a data-centric approach to hiring goals.
  • Best-in-class mobile experience.
  • More integrations with 3rd party tools.
  • Spam filters occasionally flag legitimate emails.
  • Option for self-hosted service for heavily-regulated customers.
For organizations of every size, Greenhouse is the best tool for managing the hiring process. We appreciated the ability to track candidate survey results to make sure that we were improving on all of our HR OKRs. The ability to set fine-grained permissions ensured that nobody was blocked yet we had a secure and auditable process.

Greenhouse is used across the organization as our applicant tracking system. We use it to schedule all interviews, review scorecards, and as a guide for debriefs on all of our candidates that we are hiring for our roles. It's a powerful tool used by everyone at our organization for many years.
  • Applicant Tracking
  • Interviewer Scorecards
  • Streamlining Candidate Experience
  • More focus on core competencies
  • Better visibility about candidate lifecycles
Greenhouse is well suited for helping with organizations looking to streamline their applicants. It gets everyone on the team on the same page and helps to streamline candidate scheduling, scorecards, and interview debriefs. It also helps frame what should be talked about in the interview from the interviewer's perspective. It is less appropriate at organizations without a lot of candidates.

We use Greenhouse to manage and track employee referrals. I've used it to refer several colleagues to open positions. We tie the software to our referral bonus program.
  • It simplifies and organizes the referral process. I don't have to email HR to refer employees anymore.
  • I can track where referrals are in the interview process very easily, so I don't have to ask anyone about the status of a referral (which can sometimes be awkward if a friend isn't moving forward for whatever reason).
  • It's a great way to organize pre-interview tests (like writing or skills tests) and we can access and grade documents easily.
  • There could be better functionality for explaining why referrals didn't get through. For example, a potential employee that chose not to take the job would be marked as "rejected" even if that wasn't the case.
Especially suited for mid-size or larger companies and agencies with an employee referral program. It makes it much easier for employees to add and track referrals without sending a dozen emails to HR.

Recruitment lifecycle, leveraging social networking and leads generation. all managers use it as recruiting managers as well as talent acquisition teams. Also executive sees analysis as we pulled data to our BI and analyzed it. While the product offers workflows and office365 connectivity is very cumbersome to use HR personnel often bypass and shortcut the functionality.
  • Scorecards
  • Parsing of English CV
  • Integrations
  • Poor customer support and customer success.
  • User experience
  • Poor reporting
The basic recruitment processes with CV parsing and with talent acquisition department following strict processes given perfect training they can actually use workflows and take advantage of the system offers. Once they deviate, everything becomes messy and is traceable for reporting pricing purposes. Integrations with other tools like a doc you sign or causality and or office 365 can make 4K small this echo system is very important.

I use Greenhouse as a hiring manager to review Candidates' resumes, provide feedback to HR, and monitor the progress of the different stages of where a candidate may be in the screening and interview process. It helps centralize all applications to each position I'm hiring for and makes it easy to view all candidates in a fast and sequential way.
  • Notifications when an action is required
  • Nice dashboard to see the volume of candidates and indicates if an application has been submitted for a period of time and not reviewed
  • Centralizes interview/candidate feedback through the use of scorecards where other stakeholders in the hiring process can view
  • Sometimes it's necessary to look up candidates after they have been moved out of my dashboard. I find it hard to easily search for those older submissions, but that may be more of a training issue internally than an area of improvement.
  • I am not leveraging all features that Greenhouse offers, so I can't speak to other specific areas of improvement from the Hiring Manager side. It handles what I need in order to vet and keep the status of candidates.
I like Greenhouse's Interview Kit feature that provides all data, document uploads, previous feedback from other stakeholders as an easy download. I also like seeing the activity feed between the recruiter and the candidates. The integration with LinkedIn is also nice so I can view their profile within the Greenhouse tab.

We use Greenhouse for many parts of our recruiting process. We use it to post jobs internally and externally, recruit candidates through job boards, our website, and referrals, track candidates throughout the interview process, manage interviews internally, collaborate on candidate decisions, and ultimately communicate decisions with candidates. I specifically am not a recruiter, but I use Greenhouse frequently for interviewing candidates for various roles in our technology organization. I use it to access candidate's resumes and cover letters, to view internal interview guides for the interviews I am conducting, to fill out and submit score cards for candidates who I interview, and to review my coworkers' score cards and collaborate with them to determine whether or not we will extend an offer to a particular candidate. I have also used Greenhouse multiple times to share job postings with my network and to submit referrals for specific roles.
  • Integrating interview guides with candidate scorecards and ample notes sections
  • Reminding me to fill out score cards within a designated time period after an interview
  • Embedding candidate's resume and cover letter into the scorecard for easy access
  • Quick copy for referral links to send to candidates
  • The ability to make rubric rating type questions with section headers required in score cards.
  • An easier way to track referrals and get better updates about where they are in the interview process.
  • Better integrations for scheduling interviews between candidates and multiple interviewers.
Despite some smaller feature improvements, Greenhouse has worked really well for our team overall. It has specifically been great for our candidate screening, interviewing, scorecard submission, and candidate review for open roles at our company. It is really easy to see all of the candidate information right in the app alongside pre-made interview guides and score cards. Especially for teams with multiple interviewers, it is easy for each interviewer to fill out their own scorecard and take notes directly in the app. All the scorecards and feedback about the candidate lives in one place which makes it easy to make a candidate decision. Greenhouse has also worked well for our referrals process overall. I have submitted referrals through the system and it is convenient to be able to either send a candidate a direct referral link or input their resume information directly.

LOVE Greenhouse - the platform has been amazing for our People team, analytics, and candidates in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Analytics
  • Recruitment Facilitation (end to end)
  • Historical Data and Record keeping
  • Candidate and HR Team Experience
  • Search Navigation - sometimes difficult to navigate and find all resources at the drop of a hat but the CS team is AMAZING and there to help you through any questions or support needs live.
Greenhouse is amazing at streamlining and feeling confident in your talent acquisition efforts end to end. It's allowed us to track our candidate's pipeline, metrics, easily put templates in place for communication purposes, and also stay in good communication with hiring managers through the entire experience. As mentioned, some of the navigation can be tricky in terms of finding certain features. Not the most intuitive sometimes, but their CS team is amazing and does a great job jumping in and helping you navigate things in real-time.

We utilize Greenhouse for new hire and onboarding as an integration with our payroll/HRIS software, ADP Workforce Now. We use it to schedule and document interviews, retain new hire documents and upload new hire information into ADP. We also use it as notification system for candidates who did not make it to the next round, etc.
  • Candidate scheduling.
  • Internal notifications for hiring managers.
  • Customizing canned features.
  • Customizing notifications.
Greenhouse is great for obtaining original information on a candidate. It is a great tool to use as a data warehouse for candidates and new hires. However, the customization and functionality are very limited compared to other software we reviewed. Being able to set up mass/canned "no thank yous" to candidates is such a simple and obvious feature Greenhouse is lacking. Additionally, user-end setup and customization of notifications would be helpful, especially if there is more than 1 hiring manager on a candidate.

Applicant tracking system used daily for 2.5 years.
  • Integration with Slack.
  • Basic actions, such as reviewing pipelines or scheduling interviews, take too much time.
  • Difficult to navigate, implement, and validate customizations
  • No customer service.
  • Mobile application is not functional.
This product has so much potential, good intentions, but they have overcomplicated basic functionality, UI is not intuitive and clunky. Basic actions, such as reviewing pipelines or scheduling interviews, take too much time. There are too many opportunities to customize the global system and make mistakes and the inability to edit some customizations. No customer service. The mobile application is not functional. In my experience, you work for Greenhouse - Greenhouse does not work for you.

Greenhouse is the current tool used to assist with internal department job openings. It is used across the entire organization. I feel we could get much better use of the product. At present, it is mostly a staging site as it seems other platforms are used as well as Greenhouse.
  • Track application progress
  • Provides an index of job listings
  • Intuitive User Interface
  • User Interface could be streamlined
  • Several action items within the product lead to the same spot, they are redundant.
  • Not aesthetically pleasing.
Greenhouse is excellent for internal job listings, application tracking for both the company and the applicant. It is almost perfect. The main fault being in the area of referred applicants. The status would never display properly, oftentimes the applicant would not attach to the referral. This issue may have been a company issue and not a product issue, however, so I wouldn't say that's a downfall.

Greenhouse is primarily used by our Recruiting team as our ATS, but by design, it is also used by our entire organization. We use this to review applications, post jobs, integrate with various software, work effectively with recruiting agencies, collect feedback from interviewers, and run reports to gain better insight.
  • Organization wide collaboration
  • Application review with hiring managers
  • Collecting feedback from interviewers
  • Scorecard customization for various roles
  • Sending technical assignments
  • More robust reporting functionality
Greenhouse is by far the most well-rounded ATS I have used to date. It is extremely collaborative, reliable, and supports a wide variety of integrations. I particularly enjoy the ability to parse resumes into the system, being able to "at mention" teammates and hiring managers, and all of the notifications I am able to set for myself to complete tasks.
