I implemented Greenhouse for my team, and have been an advocate for many years.
  • Stages are great
  • UI is excellent
  • candidate flow works perfectly with our process
  • Reporting
If you are under 1000 employees this is the best ATS out there.

Greenhouse is good ATS system. This integrates well with other platforms. It is easy to use and has great reporting capabilities to analyse recruiting data. I am using Greenhouse for 4 years and never ever faced any challenge while using it. UI of the product is very clean and one can easily become hands on in few uses. I have used other ats systems as well but I am super happy with Greenhouse.
  • Reporting
  • Tracking Candidate Pipeline
  • Posting jobs on career page and tracking applications
  • The offer approval process can be streamlined further
  • ATS can also improve on the candidate search within database functionality
Smooth, easy to use ats with great reporting functionality. This solves many business challenges, you can track all your recruiting data at one place. It integrates well with other platforms hence no need to do high level of coding to enable other tools on top of it. Also, Greenhouse support is great.

We use Greenhouse for candidate interview management, including resume repository, post-interview scoring, meeting reminders, and general candidate feedback for the interviewers, with central application consumption handled by our HR department. Without any similar software, the process is all manual and spread across many people and departments, which is inefficient and difficult to manage.
  • Easy for interviewers to use
  • Centralizes feedback for later review
  • Provide a way for interviewers to input questions and candidates answers for other interviewers to review so questions and effort aren't duplicated
Well suited for organizations that need a simple way to manage the interview process in a centralized way. If you need more customization, lots of bells and whistles, a private/on-prem only solution, etc., it may not be right for your organization.

We use Greenhouse only as an ATS. It's great for receiving applications, collaborating with the hiring team to review applications, deal with interview scheduling, and tracking offers.
  • Track source of applications
  • Allow to collaborate easily with the hiring team to review applications
  • Interview scheduling
  • The sourcing capabilities are absolutely horrible!
  • Allowing to read the previous candidate history easily (previous applications, comments)
  • The UI is not the most intuitive
Greenhouse is a good ATS but I do not think it is the greatest one and done tool for recruiting teams. There is significant room for improvement when it comes to sourcing within Greenhouse and displaying past candidates information in a way that is easy to navigate.

I've used Greenhouse for applying and aggregating company applications. It addresses the problem of having to apply to many companies and keep track of the status of each.
  • The application almost never has bugs and works smoothly.
  • The UI is very well done and all tasks are articulated and displayed clearly to the user.
  • Once the applying process is complete it is clear and I'm not wondering whether there is anything else to do.
  • I'd like it if there was a way for me to sign in and see all the places I've applied and reuse information
  • Resume parsing can often be buggy and I'm better off not using it
  • Applications can be flooded with text and scrolling through all of it while trying to find the parts I need to do myself can be tedious.
The space Greenhouse is in is very competitive and there are lots of applying-based services. I think for any company trying to make the applying process as easy as possible would do well with Greenhouse. The scenario I think would be not as necessary is for large companies that already are flooded with applicants, using Greenhouse may actually lead to an undesired effect of repeat applicants and too many unqualified applicants because of how simple it is.

hiring plans. moving canidates through pipeline. scheduling interviews. creating + posting jobs. automate job actions and notifications. send emails to candidates. generate reports on interviewer calibration, use greenhouse with other integrations (gem/linkedin/Calendly)
  • notifications and automation
  • customizing jobs
  • running end2end recruitment process
  • better overview of full talent pipeline for multiple jobs
  • job pipeline overview with tasks that are due per candidate
  • easier to use with scheduling. I now prefer Calendly as it lets a candidate schedule something in my agenda, without me actioning anything. I just want to send a greenhouse link to a candidate, so they can schedule some time
-end2end recruitment
-customizing workflow
-job posting
-integrations with third party apps
-good UI/ easy to use

I love using Greenhouse within our ATS system. It's great because I am able to organize my candidates and have a platform that makes it easier to work with the hiring managers as well. Greenhouse allows me to tag different candidates and review their resume with ease. All of my candidates are there and able to help with my sourcing as well. One of my biggest problems right now is reporting and using data to determine how many candidates are left in a certain stage with a certain amount of time and as a business, we are always looking to improve our tunraround time with candidates and improve hiring time and Greenhouse makes it very easy to go through and track these data.
  • Reporting and Data
  • Hiring Manager Tags
  • Candidate Scheduling
  • Candidate feedback
  • NPS scoring
  • UI platform
  • Missing some intergrations with other platforms
  • Hiring manager calenders
Greenhouse has been great and very well suited when it comes with posting job descriptions and publishing it to the website and onto other job boards like Linkedin and Indeed. It's great for me in that way. In other scenarios where it is less appropriate, it's hard to look at hiring manager calenders and multiple calendars when it comes to it

If I need to pull up a hiring managers calender, it might not show all of the events which can be misleading to see their availability times

I'm in recruiting, so we use Greenhouse as our main applicant tracking system to keep all information and statuses of candidates in one place. We use this to communicate with hiring managers as well, keep our interview feedback, and see where we are at in the process of each role.
  • Visual pipeline.
  • Transitioning stages.
  • UI
  • Too many steps/clicks.
  • Nowhere to communicate with candidates.
  • Confusing at times.
Greenhouse is well suited if you need an applicant tracking system that does only that. If you want something to help find candidates as well as communicate with them/send out emails, you would need another application to do this as it is not a one-stop-shop. But it gets the job done.

We use Greenhouse as our central applicant tracking system. From creating and managing requisitions to incorporating different interview stages, Greenhouse is the one go-to-stop for all things candidate management and experience-related. I use it to input and submit candidates, and as they go through the interview steps, Greenhouse helps the decision-making process.
  • Candidate management
  • Activity feeds
  • Integration with other tools
  • Better metrics tool to use
  • More intuitive UI
  • Visibility issues for different users
There is a reason why Greenhouse is one of the most widely accepted and used in the talent acquisition industry. It has many features ranging from managing reqs to different metrics regarding candidate movement and traction. It's also conveniently integrated with other tools such as Goodtime, which eases up our day-to-day work.

Greenhouse is used as our primary platform for managing open roles and positions in our organization. We use Greenhouse to organize, categorize and store any present and future openings for positions at our company. It is used internally by a variety of stakeholders to evaluate candidates and provide feedback during our interviewing process.
  • Categorization
  • Storing of resumes
  • Feedback mechanism
  • Clunky UX
  • Inability to navigate multiple candidates at once
  • Inability to provide instant feedback during interviews
Greenhouse is well-suited for the hiring process. It is effective and well-placed for managing job openings, candidate resumes, and information and the provision of feedback on any candidates selected to go through the interview process. Where it is less appropriate is in the management of newly created roles and managing changes to roles.

We use Greenhouse as our data repository for candidates but also for our entire interview process with hiring managers. We ask them to use scorecards in Greenhouse, which are standardized for all interviewers, to best capture the interview feedback. It is easy to move candidates through the pipeline in Greenhouse, from the initial application review to the offer stage.
  • Enabling us to create our own stages of interviewing.
  • Customizable scorecards.
  • Outlook365 integration.
  • Tutorials for everyone recognizing time constraints.
  • More options for customizable fields.
  • Adding a feature where candidates can upload a video of themselves.
  • Dashboard should have more features.
For organizations that want to streamline their hiring process and integrated with LinkedIn, and other career sites. Excellent parsing and data capture, better than most. Great integration with the company Outlook 365 for enhanced scheduling.

I use Greenhouse to filter candidates for interview process, these candidates are sourced from various recruiting agencies and certain candidates are referred by internal employees.Greenhouse helps us in sourcing and identifying the right candidates and then smoothening and better structuring the whole interview process.
  • Greenhouse is amazing for recruitment and the links can directly be posted from here to recruiting websites.
  • GREENHOUSE helps in taking interview notes while interviewing which help in subsequent interview stages by well documenting the negatives and positives of each candidate.
  • Background checks and offer letter approval is also something which greenhouse does very smoothly with readily available templates.
  • While decision making, it helps us give the exact reason for rejection and if selected we can directly choose the source from options so that the source can be incentivised accordingly.
  • While giving referral, we can not always track the status of application of the referred candidate as it keeps throwing errors.
  • The UI is complicated and we can view only a small number of candidates in one go, the need to scroll frequently can be annoying.
  • Creating offer letters is easy but reiterating changes after negotiations with the candidates is time consuming, Greenhouse sometimes has very slow load times.
Greenhouse helps in finding right candidates for the job vacancies that we have in our organisation, the sourcing is diverse and also internal links from Greenhouse can be posted by employees on various social media channels there Greenhouse helps by creating an abundant pool of candidates to choose from.

Apart from some minor bug fixes like improvement in load times and right tracking, I do not think there are any major issues with the platform.

Our entire company uses Greenhouse for recruiting. We switched to it about 4 years ago although I can't remember which software we used before we had Greenhouse. We use it to log candidate feedback, provide instructions for interviewers, and track candidate progress as they move through the various interview stages at HubSpot.
  • The referral process for people to add their referrals to HubSpot is a great feature and allows our Recruiting team to track the timing of referrals.
  • When interviewing candidates Greenhouse allows you to customize the questions that your interviewers ask.
  • I personally like the fact that I can have Greenhouse up while interviewing and take all my notes right in the application.
  • The UI of Greenhouse can be confusing when you start and the tutorials aren't in-app or all that helpful.
  • Bulk updating approvals on jobs can be really time-consuming because you have to do it manually.
  • There are plenty of canned reports but it would be nice if you could customize more of the reports.
Greenhouse is great for our needs at a company of over 3,000 people. We have 8 different departments that all use it for full-funnel interviewing and recruiting needs. I think it would still work for a smaller company because none of the software feels "enterprisey" but since I haven't used it at another company I'm not sure exactly where it would fall short or work for smaller companies.

Greenhouse is used across the organization as our applicant tracking system. We use it to schedule all interviews, review scorecards, and as a guide for debriefs on all of our candidates that we are hiring for our roles. It's a powerful tool used by everyone at our organization for many years.
  • Applicant Tracking
  • Interviewer Scorecards
  • Streamlining Candidate Experience
  • More focus on core competencies
  • Better visibility about candidate lifecycles
Greenhouse is well suited for helping with organizations looking to streamline their applicants. It gets everyone on the team on the same page and helps to streamline candidate scheduling, scorecards, and interview debriefs. It also helps frame what should be talked about in the interview from the interviewer's perspective. It is less appropriate at organizations without a lot of candidates.

Applicant tracking system used daily for 2.5 years.
  • Integration with Slack.
  • Basic actions, such as reviewing pipelines or scheduling interviews, take too much time.
  • Difficult to navigate, implement, and validate customizations
  • No customer service.
  • Mobile application is not functional.
This product has so much potential, good intentions, but they have overcomplicated basic functionality, UI is not intuitive and clunky. Basic actions, such as reviewing pipelines or scheduling interviews, take too much time. There are too many opportunities to customize the global system and make mistakes and the inability to edit some customizations. No customer service. The mobile application is not functional. In my experience, you work for Greenhouse - Greenhouse does not work for you.

Greenhouse is currently used throughout all departments to facilitate the hiring process of new candidates. It allows current employees to refer new candidates and to also quickly run through the interview process and summary. Greenhouse allows easy scheduling of interviews and keeps all candidate information organized in one place for quick review.
  • Candidate referral system
  • Job interview summary
  • Organized job interview process
  • UI/UX could be improved
When interviewing multiple candidates for a specific role, Greenhouse makes it easy to stay organized during the job interview process and employee referral system. There are also user friendly links that can be sent out on social media to share certain job posts.

We use Greenhouse as an ATS, Applicant Tracking System. Applicants through Greenhouse submit their initial application, any skills tests in the process, and any other questions we send them. Then our recruiters and hiring managers review applications and use Greenhouse to screen out unqualified people too.
  • Screen out applicants based on triggers we set
  • Track applicants across different stages of the process
  • Manage notes from interviewers, including keeping them private when needed
  • Clunky UI: sometimes there is too much information and too many options
  • Customizing homepage: again, too many widgets on one page
Greenhouse is well suited to serve as a full-service Applicant Tracking System (ATS). You can manage applications, the hiring process, and acceptances/rejections in one place.

Greenhouse is used as our applicant tracking system. It is used by everyone at the company to hire, interview and share job postings with their networks. We use it to collect and track applicant data, schedule interviews, collect interview feedback, generate offer letters and run reports on our hiring. It solves the business problem of being able to hire and scale our hiring practices as we grow.
  • User Interface - it is nice to look at and easy to use.
  • Reporting - the ease of building and pulling reports is really helpful.
  • Scheduling - they've enhanced and supported easier scheduling in the tool.
  • Reporting for diversity pipeline fields by job.
  • Navigation when viewing candidates in a job -it takes you back to all candidates and you have to filter again.
  • Capturing offline activities like texting candidates.
I really enjoy Greenhouse and it is my ATS of choice. I like the layout, and general UI and I find navigation really easy. I know everyone works differently - and I always recommend Greenhouse as an ATS to look at because I enjoy using it so much! I do think that Greenhouse could be a little more thoughtful in their pricing and packaging - in order to really get the most out of the functionality for specifically depth of candidate reporting it is a pretty significant buy-up. I would like to see more transparency around this and maybe even work arounds for smaller teams who have reporting needs but maybe not budgets. One stand out for me is the google report connecter - that's a great tool!

Greenhouse is our organization's way of tracking applicants, but also allowing end users (interviewers) to submit their interview feedback in an easy, efficient manner. It is actively being used across the entire organization. Instead of submitting paper interview forms, each interviewer has the ability to submit their feedback on each individual candidate. The tool also provides interviewers all the information needed prior to interviewing (e.g. resume, cover letter).
  • Interview feedback submission.
  • Link to social media for easy job sharing.
  • Detecting duplicate referral candidates.
Greenhouse is great for recruiting, but also for sharing information across an organization and minimizing what goes to certain teams/departments. Our recruiters are able to see everything, which makes sense, but interviewers and anyone outside of HR cannot view sensitive information, such as salary, SSN, etc. I think it is extremely appropriate for any size organization because it sends email reminders and prevents busy recruiters and HR employees from hunting down interviewers with missing feedback.

It's hands down one of the best Applicant Tracking Systems I've used. It's extremely intuitive for the daily users and especially for interviewers. There are times that an interviewer will only touch Greenhouse once a year because that's how often they hire. Very little training is needed on HR's end to ramp them up. This allows for time savings and more accurate usage as the business navigates through schedules, scorecards, profiles, etc.

I have been using Greenhouse for 4 years now. My only wish is the reporting functionality would be a little easier to navigate through. We have demo'd their Events App and it's not the best I've seen so we use another tool and integrate it into our system. I am confident their Product team works diligently to make user improvements every day.

The integration with Google makes it extremely easy to communicate. I love the Open API function. That was a big decision for us in choosing Greenhouse. I love the long list of other tools that can integrate as well as the Open API because I can customize what systems I want talking.
  • User-Friendly. Very little training to get comfortable with the system.
  • Scheduling is a breeze. The integration with Google products makes the life of our scheduler happy!
  • Moving candidates through the workflow is very detailed and easy to navigate. We are able to manage our workflow easily.
  • Events App. We demo'd it and their competition is better at this point. I'd love to see them grow here.
  • We used to have access to Live Chat to troubleshoot. Now we are in a Customer Support queue model. I would love to go back to Live Chat.
Well suited for small to medium size companies. Because the reporting is a little clunky, I could see it could be a little challenging to work well for extremely large companies with 100s of roles across continents.

Great for tech-minded people because the UI looks very savvy and tech folks like modern-day UIs.

Greenhouse is used as our applicant tracking system and recruitment CRM. The Talent Acquisition team has ownership of the software but it is used by all employees (for referrals & internal job moves). It enables us to streamline our recruitment process, manage our candidate sourcing efforts and maintain records of recruitment/hiring efforts.
  • Able to handle a large amount of data/recruitment very easily.
  • Can handle approvals in-depth at both requisition (which we do) and job offer.
  • CRM enables automation of candidate management and re-using the existing candidate database.
  • The reporting. Unless everything is set up perfectly and data entry is great, the reporting struggles.
  • Would often export data to Excel and run my own reporting there.
  • The UI/UX can feel a bit clunky, especially compared to rivals. Functionality is all there but not always intuitive.
Well suited for medium-sized businesses with a high volume of roles actively recruited at one time but a smaller talent acquisition function. Has loads of functionality you wouldn't need in a smaller business but is missing some of the scale needed in a large enterprise.

Greenhouse is currently being used across my organization by our U.S. based team to help us fill positions in RD, CS, Deployment and Analytics. We are a start up com[any that is growing rapidly and do not have a department solely dedicated to recruiting but as we grow, we found the need to be more organized and have a better process for recruiting and hiring. Greenhouse has helped us be more organized, keep better track of applicants and share interview feedback amongst members of our organization.
  • This is a great collaboration tool. Makes it very easy for my manager to assign an interview to me and provide me with the interview kit that I need, share the candidate's resume and it is also very simple for me to submit feedback after the interview has taken place. I can also tag a coworker in my notes which is very useful for us because we do group interviews and this way I can simply tag my fellow interviewer on the notes to let our manager know that we are both in agreement regarding the candidate's feedback.
  • I love the Dashboard feature, has all of my upcoming interviews in one place. I can also refer someone for any open positions right there by clicking on add referral.
  • I can connect a job posting to my LinkedInn or create a link I can send to a possible applicant directly. Makes it easy to stay Organized and share any open positions with my connections on social media.
  • Once I submitted a Scorecard for a candidate after an interview, I had a hard time finding that scorecard again in order to make an edit. I would like to have an option to view scorecard written by me on my dashboard.
  • I wish the software's setup provided more of a structure to help small companies that may not have a fully cooked HR department yet with guidance and guidelines on how to conduct a thorough candidate review and a bias free interview. There are other HR/recruiting software out there that helps its customers by providing best practices in performance reviews and recruiting that are reflected in the tools design and functionality.
  • Great product but minimal support past sales and onboarding and the high cost can be a hard sell for small companies.
I think Greenhouse has the potential to be much more helpful for larger companies, since it is highly customizable. It can really make a difference in organizing recruiting efforts for a large company with various departments and multiple open positions at a time. For smaller companies where there may only be one or 2 openings at a time, the cost of the software may be a little too high to justify a good ROI, but if you are looking to scale, then this is the perfect tool to make sure that you are hiring the right candidates in a more timely manner.

Our whole organization uses Greenhouse for tracking our referrals and for tracking our candidates throughout the recruiting process. Makes a process that is otherwise very hard to track very transparent. Holds people accountable more and prevents important work like this from happening over things like Google Sheets where people can just get lost in the shuffle.
  • Tracks referrals well
  • Updates you well when candidates are moving through the process
  • The referral flow is very easy
  • The UI at times looks a little outdated but not that bad.
Larger companies that are constantly hiring or trying to hire a lot of people can greatly benefit from this. Smaller organizations where the hiring doesn't need to be so formalized or tracked probably don't need this software (but I don't work in recruiting so I can't say for sure on this point).

We are currently using Greenhouse as a recruiting ATS. Greenhouse helps us manage candidates and prospects in process, and helps us pull helpful metrics to guide our recruiting strategies.
  • Clean UI; easy to use in comparison to other applicant tracking systems out there.
  • Updating job information and interview plans is simple.
  • Thoughtfully put together; Greenhouse allows us to manage candidates and prospects well so we can run with candidates that are ready to interview but can also keep prospects warm until they are ready to interview.
  • Tracking/reporting -- hard to pull the information we need. Hard to pull complex data to inform overall strategy decisions. Instead, we lean on integrations like Tableau, etc.
Greenhouse is good for a general ATS, but isn't great for complex tracking/reporting.
