Gusto is great!
- Onboarding is super easy for me and my employees.
- Payroll is easy to enter.
- Customer service is very quick and friendly.
- Recently, they have let the ball drop a bit with submitting some state forms on time.
- Other than this recent issues with timely forms, they have been great!
- It is great to keep up yor payroll schedule
- Good report management
- You can even consider international contractors for payroll

- Reporting is the weakest part of the platform and needs a lot of work, but it's serviceable as is.
- More benefit options would be nice, but it's good as is

Gusto is annoying for users

- The website appears simple enough for users
- The Gusto website often times won't load the page you want and will load the wrong page multiple times before it will finally work

- Gusto sends out multiple annoying emails

- Payroll

- Customer Service
- Reports
- Reading what is asked in emails and contacting the client.
There are a few areas that really could do with improvement.
* Customer service has really gone downhill lately, and I am finding that when I call the staff is friendly, but inadequately trained. We are a small company and I just do not have the time to spend an hour on a phone call and not even get a resolution.
* the PTO area of the portal needs updating. I need to be able to actually see the dates that someone has taken off and when I make an adjustment to an employee's time there should be an area for notes so that we can look back and know why a change was made.

Gusto - the new leader in payroll processing
- Great user interface.
- Easy to use.
- Very good customer service.
- Nothing comes to mind - I have been extremely pleased.
Gusto's no longer the place to be...
- User interface - fast and simple and clean
- Relatively responsive to simple issues though may take numerous followups
- Could be ok or even very good for very very small companies with just 2-3 employees as that tends to generate only very simple issues
- Anything to do with people or service where people are involved is very flawed
- Incredibly unresponsive and incapable of handling tax-related issues, whatever dept that does this is completely underfunded, understaffed, or unqualified. Tax-related issues = mistakes on the payroll end that needs to be resolved
- Gusto inserts various messaging into employee paystubs that have nothing to do with payroll, this ranking from asking employees to donate to charities Gusto has chosen, Presidential elections, or other causes/events they choose
- Do not under any circumstances put Gusto in charge of managing your insurance, the rollout is extremely flawed and they are unresponsive to resolving it
- Gusto thinks responding in days or weeks is perfectly normal and acceptable, this is probably one of the core problems

Gusto is ideal for small business owners looking to grow
- User-friendly interface
- Email reminders to take action
- Ease of loading and updating employee information
- Reporting
- Would like to see easier recording and tracking for our 1099 employee hours
Gusto Payroll for Small Business
- Onboarding the product was exceptional. They provided an internal team member to help get us started.
- We needed to file the ERC credit, but Gusto referred us to an outside firm to file an amendment rather than allowing us to adjust our initial filing for a minimum fee of $2500. We use Square Payroll for our other business, and they facilitated the adjustment on our initial filing without any additional fees.
Great payroll service
- User experience
- Automation
- Ease of use
- Benefits
- I would definitely like to see international contractors and employees being further supported
- While time-tracking is great with Gusto, they don't provide scheduling, so our company still relies on other tools for scheduling. It would be great to have scheduling + time-tracking centralized in Gusto
- Payroll on Autopilot does not work if you have hourly employees. It would be great if payroll could still run on Autopilot for non-hourly employees and needs approval only for hourly employees
