The Talent Engagement Suite offered by Handshake has been widely used by campus recruiters to attract and source top talent for entry-level roles and internships. Recruiters have found it easy to connect with the best students at big career fairs, saving time and reaching a broader audience. They have also utilized the platform to advertise university jobs and events to a diverse set of students, running campaigns to target specific students for job applications or event attendance. The Talent Engagement Suite has proven to be particularly effective for college recruiting, allowing recruiters to announce their attendance at college fairs and funnel more students to their colleagues. Additionally, Handshake has been used for summer internship recruiting and increasing brand awareness by hosting events and attending career fairs. Solopreneurs have also found Handshake helpful in finding interns and benefiting from their additional perspective in their business. Overall, users have praised Handshake for its ability to provide targeted sourcing and attraction approaches, consolidate recruiters under one account, organize and promote virtual and on-campus events, as well as offering valuable data analytics to gauge the return on investments in college relationships and hiring of students. However, some users have expressed frustration with signing up for the product and its lack of user-friendliness and support. Despite these challenges, Handshake remains a preferred platform for campus recruiting efforts due to its comprehensive features that help drive attendance at career fairs, encourage job applications, and provide insights into recruitment strategies.

Reviews
(1-25 of 37)- Segment building
- School Explorer
- Profile
- Campaigns - would love to enhance the design, be able to insert pictures and video in an eye appealing way
- More in depth analytics within the platform
- Ease of use
- Saves me time
- Helps me engage in meaningful ways with candidates virtually
- More easily connect the segments into the campaign. I'd rather not have to start on the segment page for a campaign I'm hoping to create.
- Analytics page could be broken down to show me specific analytics per job to compare and contract (instead of viewing 1 job at a time)
For roles that require a lot of applicant flow, or for positions that require a large cohort of hires at one time, these features are perfect.
Handshake Talent Engagement Suite's Campaigns and Segments
- Campaign messaging functionality is very good.
- Event registration process is easy to use.
- The segments component is a great tool.
- It would be great to have the ability to categorize messages into folders based similar to an email inbox.
Less Appropriate: sourcing candidate resumes
Handshake Campaigns Allow for Efficient Sourcing
- Great customer service
- Ability to source diverse candidates
- Wide reach among students
- Ability to directly source and reach out to specific candidates (rather than just a whole pool with campaigns)
- More flexibility over the way postings look to allow for creativity
- More details about students on their profiles to make it easier to source the right candidates
Worth checking out!
- Creates a great talent pool
- Easy to navigate
- Great tools to utilize
- Message inbox is not the easiest to track messages
- Being able to share saved searches
Handshake Talent Engagement Suite allows us to connect with and recruit great talent!
- Being able to track who views a role, and being able to contact them if they didn't formally apply
- The ability to properly label candidates who show interest in our roles, candidates we have reached out to, and candidates who are not interested in our roles. This helps us even more with targeting the right audience.
- Being able to see all the students who are sent messages in a campaign, that way we can mark them as contacted for certain roles.
- The ability to share a mailbox or delegate messages to other users.
- The ability to see the job listing as students see it would be helpful as well.
- Messages notification seems to be stuck on 13 whether I have more or less unread messages in my inbox.
- A way to label private profiles that receive messages from us or view our jobs.
- It would be nice to have a map that shows where the schools are located in the country. Sometimes we want to send out campaigns to schools in a certain region and it can be time consuming researching where all the universities are. Maybe even pre-made school lists by region.
- It would be nice to have the ability to label candidates individually or in bulk from my inbox - similar to labeling applicants in the job listings.
In UR/Early Careers? You Need Handshake Talent Engagement Suite.
- Analytics of Applicants and Campaigns
- School Scope
- Candidate Outreach and Management
- AI matching of potential candidates for closed roles since right now the roles have to be posted
- Integration with Workday Recruit and other ATS
- Correct grad year for students because information can be outdated
Handshake Review.
- Support for Campaigns/Student Engagement to drive attendance and applicants
- One platform with all schools and one hub for students
- Insights reports are generic and hard to get "company specifics"
Great Bang for your Buck!
- allows me to target specific majors and message them
- allows me to target specific graduation years and message them
- allows me to message an audience without a particular university affiliation and message them
- add an "occupational health and safety" major
- add an easier to read calendar so i can see all of the events we are attending company wide
- allow us to save different company descriptions - CRH doesn't have any traction with career fairs. Ash Grove Cement does, so I find I am always having to delete the CRH description and put in the Ash Grove one.
Internships
Part-time roles
Developmental programs for new graduates with 4-year degrees
Roles where the person just needs to have 1-2 years of experience plus a degree
Diversity recruiting
Not as good for:
highly technical roles that don't require 4-year degrees (ie electricians)
- Provides relevant career fairs
- Registration for career fairs is easy
- Search bar - love being able to search for the types of fairs we are interested in
- It would be great to get emails of recommended career fairs based on what we have already attended.

- Connects us with our target audience (current college students and recent graduates).
- Connects us with a variety of career services offices, building trust in our organization.

- Developing an integration between Handshake and Salesforce would alleviate the majority of our capacity concerns with the platform.
- Easier ability to track who was sourced from a specific message campaign (on the campaign section of the site rather than the "candidates" section.
- Developing an integration between Outlook calendars and the scheduling platform.
- Increased accuracy of reported data in student profiles.

Be sure to give Handshake a fair shake!
- Scheduled campaigns look like direct messages and are customizable to tie to specific events & jobs - we've had great success in responses!
- The job postings we are able to create are easy to read, can encompass all of our locations, and lead candidates directly back to our website to officially apply.
- The company profile is robust and allows us to include testimonials, news articles, etc. and really earn candidates' trust as they are scrolling through.
- The fact that schools can have us register for events and fairs in Handshake as well as send updates through that, makes it so much easier to have everything in one place!
- I've found it's hard to narrow down segments to get specific. For example, there is no "structural" engineering or "geotechnical" engineering major selection so just going off what students may or may not put on their profiles doesn't pull great results. The location preference option is also great but has caused issues for us because it pulls from locations that students apply to (even if the job had more than one listed), so they don't necessarily note it on their profile or actually want every place the system pulls.
- The inbox feature is great for replies, but hard to come back to any that are already opened. I receive dozens of messages at a time and a tick of the system that can be irritating is that each time I reply to an individual message, it takes me back to the top of my inbox and shows my reply as unread.
- I think the tagging could be beefed up to allow campaigns/messages to filter out or in people that have certain tags (or just unselect people in general). We've on several occasions accidentally messaged candidates we didn't want to because we can't see who is included in the bulk list.
- It'd be really nice to be able to just search candidates by name, school, degree, etc. in the system without having to make a segment too!
It is harder to use Handshake when you're looking for very specialized or niche candidate profiles.
Great Platform!
- Connecting with Students.
- Provides useful Analytics.
- Effective event management.
- Messaging specific regional recruiters.
- ATS
- Connection with outside ATSs.
Handshake makes the college education experience a breeze.
- Aggregate job openings.
- Host career fairs and other events.
- Clean UI.
- Application tracking is often buggy or missing.
- Notification preferences are limited.
- Lots of spam messages.
- Connecting with local education centers
- Reaching students or alumni for career opportunities
- Providing a platform to contact students and staff
- An education center can "deny" your request to connect with them
- Separation of contact with students or staff of the school (separate email boxes or categories)
- Alerting recruiters of upcoming events at the schools they have connections with
Handshake is an integral part of our campus engagement strategy
- Segmentation - Great options to target relevant students/degree programs

- Managing company users - Easy to approve/disapprove employees who request to be associated with the company
- Ability to delete events that were not approved by a school or were cancelled.

New Handshake User
- It connects various universities in one site
- It is easy to use
- It is quick in connecting users together
- It does not provide informatics on how may searches have occurred for our ad
10/10 Handshake Talent Engagement Suite is the best early talent tool on the market!
- segment filters
- insights module
- more community colleges
Game-changer, but Spendy!
- Targeted messaging
- Find target schools
- Data and insights
- There are only a couple of fields on the company profile that are dynamic (customizable) for students
- Automation of job postings to certain schools with SuccessFactors
Awesome tool to find early in career talent!
- Event registration
- Campaign messaging
- Job posting and visibility
- Responsive and engaged team that resolves issues
- Skill searching and more unique filters that isolate talent
- Time options to deploy campaigns and messaging
- More campuses enrolled
- In person event manager features that enable ATS integration
- Talent segmentation that allows you to hone in on specific or broad skillsets
- School connections that allow building tons of school relationships across the country
- Customizable campaign messaging that allows you to reach a wide variety of students
- I would love if there were a better way to filter by experience. Currently, it's based on graduation date but a lot of my talent segments pick up people with 10+ years of experience that recently started or completed another degree. This is frustrating for the candidate who receives a bunch of misplaced messages and for recruiters who have to explain why they received a message about an internship they are clearly overqualified for. Can we separate grad year from years of experience in the segmentation somehow?
- I wish there were an easier way to "blacklist" candidates who were rude or expressed a sentiment of never wanting to hear from me or my company again. These are people that I don't want to accidentally include in a campaign message 6 months later.
