Create and host unlimited group events and 1:1 video chats using Handshake video or a different video platform. Handshake and Untapped both have their pros and cons. The campaign features in Handshake are really unparalleled and allow you to reach a relevant and diverse set of students quickly and efficiently. Untapped has the ability to go through the profiles of individual students to really source specific people (which Handshake doesn't allow), but the filtering features needed work and it was tougher to reach a lot of students at once.

I like Handshake Talent Engagement Suite much better than this platform as it is much easier to identify talent and find exactly what we are looking for to use as a repository for what we need and the time we need it in. We selected this because we needed to make new hires quickly and knew this platform would help. Many times individual universities had their own platform before Handshake Talent Engagement Suite and this allows us to see all the colleges in one particular application making it much easier.

I think Handshake is similar to Linkedin Recruiter in a lot of ways. The main differentiator for me/our company is who we are trying to reach or target. LinkedIn is not an easy platform to find early careers talent on, so Handshake has been the best way for us to connect with schools, register for events easily, advertise to college students and reach them where they are!

In terms of overall application experience, I think the other companies do a better job with richer features. Where Handshake shines, however, is in how it 1. is mainly focused on new grads and internships, making filtering less necessary, and 2. its suite of other features available that integrate well with the applying side.

Handshake Talent Engagement Suite is similar to indeed in the ease of communication, but we prefer to use Indeed in our organization because the connection with a school can be declined. Some of our recruitment team members have experienced a long delay of making connections because the schools have been unresponsive to accept or will not communicate with other recruiters from the same organization.

Our company uses hireEZ and LinkedIn Recruiter as well, but Handshake Talent Engagement Suite makes the most sense for our University Relations team due to the focus on college students and recent grads. hireEZ is the opposite and isn't very effective at targeting college students.

Schools used to use Symplicity as opposed to Handshake but for every school you had to make a new username and password for every one. This gives you one login where you can post to many. It makes it much easier and is a huge time saver.

I am not aware of the competitors to Handshake. However, Handshake is so awful that I think I might even write my own Web application that does what Handshake can do and do it better. In fact, I think that I made a "Bob Board" application back in the 1990's and it did just fine.

Lever is more of an ATS, while Handshake is a candidate database. It is also essential to be using good ATS when you have Handshake. You can organize your candidates and not forget about any of them. I do wish that Lever and Handshake worked together so that I can automatically input people into Lever from Handshake

Outside of personal relationships and Facebook groups, I use Handshake as well as Internships.com to find interns. While I sometimes like the easier format of Internships.com, I don't like the fact that I can't target schools. It's worldwide, so I rarely get the candidates I'm looking for. Mine is a very part-time internship, and it requires excellent writing skills, so being contacted by someone who needs help with a Visa or where English is a second language isn't helpful.
