We used Hexnode for Kiosk Lockdown of Android Devices. There are several android smartphones in our company. After a few trials, we decided on Hexnode MDM since we wanted to lock these devices down. We use the android kiosk rules such as digital signage and website kiosk mode to prevent access to illegal and unwanted websites. Also, use lock task mode to restrict the navigation options. The option to silently install enterprise applications to the devices is a huge win as well, making it much easier with app management with deletion, updating of webapps, enterprise apps, and store apps.
  • Android zero-touch enrollment allows bulk enrollment of corporate-owned android devices with a single click.
  • With the help of the dynamic device grouping function, devices may be grouped in accordance with specific pre-configured criteria.
  • The kiosk mode supports both single-app kiosk mode, in which the device is restricted to using a single app, and multi-app kiosk mode, in which the device is in kiosk mode but has access to a number of other programs and files.
  • The bulk enrolment process is time-consuming and resource-intensive for the server.
  • The policies take a while to be successful when pushed together in bulk. Especially when a set of policies are pushed to a dynamic group, it takes a lot longer than for other static groups.
  • Smartwatches and other wearables cannot be enrolled in or managed.
Hexnode was best suited for us to manage android devices and more specifically for Kiosk Lockdown and restrictions. Hexnode being a UEM offers support for platforms as well. It certainly does open doors for us to increase and take up more devices under the management of Hexnode. As said earlier, Hexnode does not support wearables as of now; would be great if they could start supporting them soon.

Since Covid, the majority of our staff have used personal mobile devices for work. We wanted to be able to create work profiles as different containers on your own devices since separating the work file from the personal file was a laborious process. It enabled the storage of work-related applications and information in a distinct, secure container. We also need total control over these job profiles, therefore after evaluating several alternatives, we settled on Hexnode UEM. Because of Hexnode UEM's enterprise and general functionality for managing androids, we decided on it. The ability to establish work profiles with distinct badges for business-related applications and files was provided by Android enterprise devices.
  • We could secretly install applications and push rules, which solely affected the device's work profile.
  • Users will be able to enrol their devices using Okta or Gsuite authentication if Hexnode UEM is integrated with those directories.
  • Even online apps and business or in-house apps that are not available in any app stores were able to be secretly installed and pushed using Hexnode UEM's app management tools.
  • We utilize a small number of Windows devices in addition to Android ones, however, Hexnode UEM has very few Windows-specific restrictions compared to those for other platforms.
  • When we turned on the remote control, the Hexnode for Work app would periodically crash.
  • We had to get in touch with their tech support to resolve the issue because the Multi app kiosk mode for Windows devices was not correctly pushed.
The IT department had a nightmare when our firm embraced BYOD. Maintaining the security of company data got difficult due to the explosion in device numbers. So, for our team, adding a UEM to our business network was the finest choice of 2020. But was not great for IoT wearable devices.

We chose Hexnode due of its strong device management features for safeguarding macOS, tvOS, and iOS devices because we only utilise Apple products. The Apple Business Manager integrations offered by Hexnode make it simple to enrol new devices and configure zero-touch setups. Additionally, Hexnode's site allows direct configuration of Filevault and the mac Firewall, two built-in security tools by Apple.
  • Setting mandatory applications and the silent installation of enterprise apps.
  • Hexnode integrates with the Apple Device Enrollment Program and Apple Volume Purchase Program, enabling bulk software purchases and device enrollment.
  • Blocklisted applications would be uninstalled from the device and would not be available for download again.
  • Devices running watchOS cannot be handled or enrolled.
  • The policies under WIFI, which allowed certain websites to be blocked using website certificates, were complicated .
  • The app management features provide the ability to push the installation of corporate apps on the devices. Even though it was successful on the Hexnode Portal, this feature periodically malfunctioned, and the apps were not loaded.
We had a large and capable IT team, but the number of devices increased as the company grew more prominent. The team needed a remote solution to manage these devices, so we started looking for an MDM.

Hexnode was implemented at 2 companies we own to ensure an easier device deployment for new hires and most importantly, to ensure devices are secure and can always be managed remotely. The ability to push apps, pre-configure devices/apps, remote wipe, are all key features we leverage regularly. The support from the Hexnode team is always outstanding with tech-savvy agents that genuinely care about solving our issues and investigating to better their platform.
  • Remote enrollment.
  • Security policies.
  • Support from the Hexnode team when needed.
  • Features are regularly being added and Hexnode even has a feature request option. As they are constantly improving, I have nothing to add.
Hexnode is great for iOS and Android, which already covers the vast majority of customers out there. We also successfully manage Windows and Mac. Windows policies are quite limited, however, that is due to Windows' limitations and not Hexnode's.

We adopted Hexnode UEM to control our tablets we are using for elds in our Transport Trucks. It creates a perfect kiosk interface, allows only the apps we need, and simplifies the user interface. I was worried about the cost of data overages, Hexnode restricts all access, other than what is needed, and it will also report any usage. It has caused me to have much less worry, about the tablets in the Driver's hands.
  • Application Management
  • User Lockdown
  • Compliance Reporting
  • Auotmated reboot/restart of Android Devices
  • Integrate a gmail account for app sign in at setup
  • Mobile app for admins
If you need to control what is available on an Android device, this is the app to do this.
I enquired if I could use this in a Windows environment to manage windows updates, but it did not seem to be a good fit.

Our organization uses Hexnode UEM bundled with our own services for a client based outside of the United States. We work with Hexnode UEM to distribute the apps that we make to the user devices. The solution is now used across the whole organization.

The client did not have a dedicated IT team, so they needed the UEM solution to be very simple to use and manage. Hexnode UEM seemed very easy on the first look, and the trial proved that it was! With the simple UI plus a few support calls, the admin was able to implement the solution by himself and manage the devices easily.
  • Simple UI
  • No-nonsense product
  • Quick deployment
  • Limited features
  • Limited support for Windows devices
The solution is very effective when separate apps and policies are needed for separate groups. The app distribution for different groups was simplified beyond expectations with the easiest device group management feature in Hexnode UEM. The devices could be assigned to different groups based on the grades, which enabled the admin to push the apps to their corresponding device groups. The MDM implementation considerably reduced the hours of boring work to just a few minutes.

We used Hexnode UEM to manage a fleet of 50 devices in a project-based out of Colombo. It is still used to manage devices in the project. Hexnode UEM's location tracking saved us a lot of time and effort.
  • Location tracking and updates
  • Geofencing
  • Whitelisting bugs
  • Enrolment issues for a few android devices
Hexnode UEM is well suited to manage company-owned devices and lock them down for office usage. Not that effective in case of BYOD

We have been using Hexnode UEM for the last 2 years for managing the field devices of our frontline workers. Hexnode UEM is now currently used to manage devices in the regional office. Hexnode UEM location tracking feature enables us to monitor the devices and the users continuously.
  • location trackng
  • multi OS support
  • Less integrations
  • Need more API calls
  • Automation is limited
Hexnode UEM manages iOS and Android devices effortlessly. But on Windows and Linux devices the use-cases are limited.

We had developed an in-house app to be used inside the organization and wanted to distribute the app to all devices. The app also needed periodic remote updates. We were in the market for a solution that could help us reduce the tedious workload of making sure everyone has the app installed and updated and we found Hexnode. Hexnode is presently used across the organization.

Hexnode helped the team to create dynamic groups so that we could get the devices sorted into appropriate groups immediately upon enrollment. We grouped the devices based on the Operating System. After uploading the IPA file of the enterprise app to the server, a policy with the specific app was created. On associating the policy with the required device group, the app got distributed to all the devices in the group automatically.
  • Quick enrollment.
  • Quality after sales support.
  • Multi OS support.
  • Limited features.
  • Need improvement in UI.
  • Misses out on a few integrations.
Hexnode is very useful in scenarios where there are a lot of devices in an organization that the admin team needs to manage remotely. Hexnode works flawlessly with android, iOS and desktop devices. However, they still have limited features when it comes to windows desktops or tablets. Our organization practically had zero windows devices with the users so it wasn't a problem for us.

It was so easy to start - simply create the portal, enroll a device, and it's online and operational. Associating policies was pretty easy as well. Compared to something like Intune where everything has to be 100% set up first, Hexnode allowed us to even do testing, and push out updates almost instantly to ensure our configurations were exactly what we wanted.
  • Remotely deployable which is ideal for lockdown.
  • the flexibility of the system.
  • The easy to use UI that makes it so even your average technical person.
  • The website is confusing sometimes.
This is a superb MDM frontend - I would recommend it over the competitors to my clients. Setup is super simple and the ability to create a secure multi-app kiosk was invaluable when setting up a device for clients to use in our reception area. The web client is very well refined and runs beautifully from a range of different devices - it is also easy to use from touchscreen devices - i.e. iPads or touch based Windows machines.

Used for solving mobile device management across different departments of the company, helps control and manage phones provided to various employees.
  • Kiosk lockdown.
  • App functionalities.
  • API calls.
  • Real time tracking.
  • Easy integration.
  • More API calls and functionalities.
If you need to distribute company phones to employees, you can keep the phone controlled and tracked through Hexnode. Limiting the users for functionalities can be done through Hexnode.

We use it for device management, both for mobile phones and tablet kiosks. We are using Hexnode UEM for a few users in each of our departments at the bank I provide IT services for. Hexnode UEM helps us manage all of our mobile technology easily through one portal and helps us stay in compliance with our security guidelines.
  • Customer support
  • Device management
  • Knowledge articles
  • More features
  • Better integration with iOS
  • More security compliance reports
Hexnode UEM seems like it can be great for companies of any size; however, with any UEM, it can be cumbersome if you have more than 50 devices to manage. Small businesses can definitely benefit the most from Hexnode UEM services. It is definitely more tailored for Android support, but that is simply because the OS is much less proprietary over iOS.

We use Hexnode to manage the company provided smart phone across the entire agency.
  • Manages the applications that are installed and allowed to be installed
  • Device functions can be removed or limited
  • Fast Cloud based management.
  • Has some functions that are still needing to be built
  • Data Management is in the works but not fully developed yet
Hexnode, is fast and simple to deploy, meets all the required needs for any company trying to manage, control and restrict devices. Still lacks some features that other competitors have, but they are on the road-map for future development (i.e. data management on IOS, and screen placement and design).
