We use Hootsuite to schedule all of our social media posts. Because we have a team that is in multiple locations. It has become a great touchpoint for us to schedule things without stepping on each other's toes.
  • Scheduling
  • Editing
  • Coordinating
  • Make it more cost-effective. There are many other alternatives out there and it is expensive for a non-profit.
It is well-suited for organizations that have employees working on the same thing but in different locations. It also is helpful in keeping us from scheduling on top of each other when we all have different things we need to post.

It allowed a central location to manage social media presence across all platforms. We could schedule all our posts to send at a specific time, which helped as it showed the optimal times to post for maximum results. The central area for watching feeds was also nice to use for us.

It is good to use if you have multiple accounts and need to save time managing all of them at your workplace. If you want more than the standard analytics from the platforms themselves, it will let you know how well you are maintaining and growing your social media presence online. It is not great at working with Instagram without using the mobile application.

Advertising in multiple social media formats is a pain, posting each one separately takes way too much time, along with finding the right size photos and videos, which just makes it way too hard to market and time-consuming, but with Hootsuite, I am able to set up my posts ahead of time, get them all done, or send out a daily to all of them in one shot... Also scheduling is great, post when you want them posted, not when they find the time... Also being able to post videos to Instagram directly from Hootsuite is icing on the cake. With innovative tools that help me market, I have made it one of the first things I go to in the morning to get all my marketing done for the day, takes less than 30 minutes to get everything done, then I work knowing I have already got it done. I would recommend this program for anyone looking to get the most out of their marketing capabilities, used properly it will make a difference in your visibility on the internet, and the alerts help to keep track of those who contact you and those who comment on your posts and who signs up or clicks the link.. all great stuff.
  • Timely posts.
  • Posts to each social media platform within the guidelines.
  • Allows you to alter photos and videos to fit certain formats.
  • I don't have any experience with any other one, so I have no idea what would make it better.
  • Seems to be pretty good.
  • Can't really find any issues that I would change.
If you are marketing on many social media platforms, this is a great time saver when it comes to posting on a regular basis, and if you are posting several times a day this works well. If you are only posting to Facebook, or just making Instagram posts, this may not be for you as posting directly to those platforms are always better if you are only doing one or two. But to get total coverage you will want to use several...that is where this program shines.

I am using Hootsuite for the last five years. It is the best tool for social media management and marketing. It is very useful in managing all my company's social media handles in one dashboard, and it provides insights into all the posts, which is quite useful in measuring the campaign. The scheduling feature is also quite useful.
  • social media posting
  • social media management
  • social media measurement
  • social media insights
  • video posting on Instagram feather not available
  • free account has limitation to add 3 account only
  • insights lacks depth analysis
No doubt, Hootsuite is a good social media management platform but, these days all social media platforms provide their own scheduling feature, in-depth analytics, and editing tool option for free. So, taking paid plan for such a feature is painful these days. Some more improvements can make this stand in the market.

I use Hootsuite to schedule SM posts. The program helps me schedule posts in advance, or on the weekend or holiday when I need to post but am not working.
  • scheduling
  • feeds
  • recommended times to post
  • offer more schedule posts for free version
  • offer a version for free for education (like Canva does)
  • better ability to tag - this is super clunky
it is useful when I need to schedule posts in advance so I can focus on something else it is useful when I need to schedule posts for holidays it is not useful when I am limited to just 5 posts I wish it was more intuitive to tag for multiple accounts - right now I have to do posts individually because a tag/mention in Twitter isn't the same as LinkedIn, etc.

Posting to multiple sites can be a pain, and Hootsuite lets you do it all in one place.
  • Curation
  • Scheduling
  • Teamwork
  • Accessing settings is too cumbersome.
  • "Teams" and "Accounts" are too similar.
  • They asked for feedback too early. Too eager. Not a good look!
If you have multiple accounts to post to, it's crucial. If you have just one, it's superfluous.

In my opinion, Hootsuite is no longer the best platform for social media management. We use it more in the agency for its platform of case studies, metrics, and behavioral studies by industry. Previously we used it as the main social media tool, but we have replaced it with others.
  • Behavior studies by industry
  • Case studies
  • Social media marketing metrics
  • Integration with other tools and social media
  • Landing page generation for Instagram profiles
  • Extension for google chrome
  • Audience behavior research (social listening)
It does not seem to have good integration with social networks and when it does, it falls behind other tools It does not generate landing pages for Instagram profiles Its extension for google chrome does not work like others It does not provide audience behavior research (social listening).

Hootsuite helps us better manage social media posting, along with keeping tabs on what is going on within the industry. It can be tough to keep up with multiple Twitter accounts or other social profiles. Hootsuite helps unify them under a single dashboard and provides a convenient way to manage social media channels for brands.
  • Consolidate social media management channels into once place
  • Monitor trends
  • Report on social media channels to management
  • The interface could be faster.
  • Would love to have an easier way to view accounts, instead of side-scrolling. This becomes cumbersome when you have a lot of accounts to manage
  • Pricing - it has gotten more expensive over the years
Hootsuite is very useful for managing social profiles. Reporting is good but can get to be very costly for organizations when you factor in all of the social profiles you might need to monitor. This can lead to having to use other tools for reporting. Overall, Hootsuite is a good tool for most organizations.

I use Hootsuite to send duplicate adverts across businesses selling the same product, in retail, namely, Pick N Pay which is one of the largest supermarket chains in our country. I manage a few stores' social media platforms but use Hootsuite for their Facebook pages. Hootsuite allows me to send this duplicated ad faster than going into each business account separately. I also use the platform to schedule posts for up to a week ahead on these same retailers' pages, which saves me so much time during the week, when I need to be busy with design work and not scrolling through Facebook pages for content. Hootsuite also affords me the opportunity to measure monthly stats and compare stores, month on month, and potentially correlate/match sales figures to content posting.
  • Motivates me to post more when I see my social score every day!
  • Allows me to see top performing posts instantly
  • Sorts my searches by client and time frame
  • Allows me to respond to messages on one platform for many clients
  • I would like to be able to edit posts once posted
  • I am confused about the hashtag functionality and this has stopped me from using Hootsuite for my other makeup business, which needs Facebook and Instagram posts done
  • Hootsuite mobile is not all that. I have to edit and post on PC rather.
The only reason I give it a 9, is because I am well aware that I do not use Hootsuite to its full capacity! Hootsuite has given me back many hours in the day because it so efficiently does my posts. Hootsuite has stopped my sleepless nights of dread, close to month end, worrying about how I am going to compile reports for my clients based on my social media content and advertising.

I use Hootsuite multiple times a week to do social media blasts on all of our pages/accounts: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. It is a huge time saver because I don't have to copy and paste my posts from platform to platform like I used to. I also love that I can schedule posts out into the future and can do a bunch all at once.
  • Posting to multiple social media platforms at once
  • Seeing what all has been or will be posted in a particular time frame
  • Scheduling posts
  • Include more platform connections in the free version
  • Have suggested #hashtags that auto-populate based on your similar past posts
  • Offer conversion for photos to be the right size to fit the specified platform
Any business that utilizes more than 1 social media page/account would benefit from Hootsuite because it optimizes the output of content and minimizes effort. In fast-paced business environments, time saved is money saved. Whoever is in charge of posting can spend more time creating quality content and less time transferring that content from page to page. In small companies that don't utilize more than 1 social media page/account and have someone who specializes in those posts, Hootsuite may not be as needed.

As a one-stop marketing/social media strategist/public relations department, I need all the help I can get! The ability to schedule in advance combined with the analytics, metrics, and algorithm is priceless. My productivity has increased considerably since using Hootsuite!
  • algorithm
  • metrics
  • multi-platform scheduling
  • It would be helpful to allow Grammarly to incorporate into the platform
I cannot think of any. Our industry is hospice and the subject is a tough one to put on social. Using Hootsuite increases productivity. It allows me as a social media strategist to be able to use my time to create powerful messages instead of guessing what times are better for posting. Easier A/B testing too!

Hootsuite is invaluable to our weekly social media strategy. We leverage it to easily post to all our marketing streams (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter). We've found it to meet all our needs (ease of use, efficiency, ease of collaboration) and is very affordable.
  • Ease of use (drafting, scheduling, posting)
  • Easy to collaborate (one person drafts and another edits/approves)
  • Ease to post across all our social media streams (IG, Facebook, etc) at once
  • Though current analytics are good, would like to see them a bit more expansive.
As a medium-sized business, we've found Hootsuite to be well-suited to us on practically all fronts (functionality, ease of use, effectiveness, cost).

I post on Facebook and Twitter for the insurance company I work for. I mostly just post interesting content with a message included to promote their business. Just trying to get more exposure for them through interesting content. I do enjoy using Hootsuite, it's so much easier being able to plan out weeks in advance rather than doing it on a daily bases. It allows me more time to be more thoughtful about what I post and is so easy to work with. I really don't have any complaints. It works really well for what I'm doing. Thank you for all your help.
  • Allowing to schedule weeks in advance
  • Being able to easily review past post for analytics
  • suggestions for best times to post
  • with twitter you can only have so many words so I have to create ways with media to add more words, it would be great if Hootsuite offered a way to make these.
It works really well for the company I work for. I am able to plan posts for weeks in advance giving me time to do research for content.

Hootsuite makes it easy to plan out and schedule social media posts for a comprehensive campaign. I've used it professionally when needing to create social media posts to recognize partner organizations or sponsors. It's easy to load up the posts in advance and then I screenshot the posts to send for final approval before scheduling. Hootsuite allows me to streamline this process which used to require a lot of time and effort.
  • User-friendly
  • Ability to plan and schedule posts to multiple platforms
  • Good analytics
  • Ability to respond and interact on multiple platforms from one central dashboard
  • Occasional trouble tagging partners in scheduled posts.
  • Dashboard can be overwhelming depending on how active your social media is.
  • Occasional trouble formatting scheduled content.
Hootsuite is excellent for teams (or individuals) who want a comprehensive tool to manage all of their social media platforms. Hootsuite makes it easy to launch campaigns, track results, follow up with constituents, and more. However, it's not magic and can't do all of the work for you. In order to get the most out of Hootsuite, you will still need a strategic plan for your social media marketing overall.

I am managing quite a large number of social accounts for different projects and customers. If I have to do manual posting it would take me two full days to post things a week ahead and for a number of accounts would have to do daily posts in real-time. Hootsuite allows me to schedule posts for all of the accounts, and coordinate posts for projects across several accounts. It can even auto-post to accounts calculating the best time. I am also able to analyze the different accounts and feeds.
  • Auto post to social media accounts
  • Calculate the best time to post to the different accounts
  • Analyze post reactions
  • Schedule posts to different social media accounts even for months ahead
  • Post one post to more than one different account a time
  • Post pictures and text to social media
  • Edit pictures while being posted to the social accounts
  • Native post videos to social media accounts including TikTok
  • Handle paid ads for Facebook accounts
  • Auto posting can not be individually set for different accounts
  • When posting many posts one after the other, sometimes the site freezes and needs reloading.
Hootsuite has a free account with a limited number of social accounts. It is good for smaller projects and also to try out how it works. You do not need to be a programmer or a marketing guru to be able to use it. Per my experience, it has way more features than you will ever use.

As a small business owner, Hootsuite has allowed our team to easily create content and push it out to various social media channels with ease and convenience. Hootsuite's product is custom to our needs (our specific channels, steams, key hashtags, etc) and we really enjoy that it is a complete portal that fills our needs for social media. Hootsuite has allowed FishMySpot to significantly grow our followers on various social media channels and converted our followers to users. Additionally, the data that Hootsuite collects regarding each channel is magnificent! The data is in one place rather than going to each different account (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc...) on one page. This saves time and allows our company to make data-driven decisions. We are very happy with Hootsuite's product!
  • Customization to the needs of the company; the product is not a one-size fits all
  • Data that provides specific details regarding each channel utilized, along with the most followed post, engagement, date, times, etc.
  • Ability to follow streams/ key hashtags to assist with the growth of users
  • When on mobile, and trying to post multiple photos on Instagram- you have to open the app, and copy and paste the post and photos- it is quite annoying. This may not be a Hootsuite issue.
Prior to using Hootsuite, our company would have to open each individual social media app and create the content and post, with Hootsuite, we can easily post to various social media accounts and have our content scheduled in front of us. The number of hours that we initially saved when we used Hootsuite was significant. We were able to focus our resources and energy on other areas of our company because our social media needs are taken care of through Hootsuite.

central management of primary social media accounts for the company and its founders. Centralized visibility of social media activity. General research of software developer community activities and events. Community engagement
  • scheduling posts on twitter, LinkedIn
  • Informative and relevant information about social trends
  • dashboard views of multiple social accounts
  • When scheduling LinkedIn posts, Hootsuite doesn't have all the options that are available when posting directly on LinkedIn. e.g. can't reference another LinkedIn profile in your description.
A great tool to centralize your social media accounts in one dashboard view and schedule posts. Nice features to monitor market activity across social channels.

Hootsuite empowers our small team to have a broader reach than if we had to post to each platform separately. This tool is relatively affordable compared to similar options.
  • Posting to multiple platforms
  • Adding features
  • Providing tips to ensure posts fit the platform's parameters
  • Scheduling posts and recommending best times to post
  • Content calendar
  • Improvements in user interface
  • Ability to move the new post window
  • On the new post window, do away with the recently used list
  • Ability to create Facebook events
  • Auto save draft and access to drafts directly in the menu
Creating a post for four different platforms with different restrictions would be unmanageable for us without a tool like Hootsuite. The ability to create a post and edit for each platform increases our capacity and empowers us to reach a broader audience. The features of Hootsuite are user-friendly and I particularly appreciate the scheduling option and recommended scheduling tools. Hootsuite does a good job of continuing to add features and show how to use them including the recent addition of TikTok. A helpful addition would be the ability to create FB events. While I haven't utilized the analytics feature within Hootsuite, instead of relying on those within social platforms, I will make use of them in the near future.

We use Hootsuite to manage social media for multiple brands. Hootsuite Pro provides one place where we can easily switch between brands.
  • Edit photos for each platform
  • Switch back and forth between multiple platforms
  • Switch back and forth between multiple brands
  • I would love to be able to post to arrange multiple photos in the order I want them when scheduling a Facebook post. This works for other platforms, but when scheduling for Facebook, it doesn't work. Once I hit the schedule button, the order changes. It's so frustrating!
  • I would like to be able to schedule Facebook carousel posts via Hootsuite.
  • It would be nice to have a way to download a photo from a scheduled post after I have cropped it, so I can have the edited version for myself. This works on the phone app, but not on the computer.
  • It would be a bonus to have an emoji selection within Hootsuite.
Hootsuite is perfect for scheduling multiple platforms and multiple brands. It makes it very easy. Hootsuite is not as user-friendly for monitoring.

I utilize Hootsuite as a key program to help me organize my social media posting calendar. It is a very useful tool. One area I'd like to see the address is being able to see insights on things such as hashtag clicks. Otherwise, for those just starting out to use a social media posting/scheduling system, Hootsuite is a good place to start.
  • Ease of scheduling/posting
  • Offering recommended posting times/dates
  • Ability to have several accounts.
  • Insights on hashtag performance
Hootsuite is a great management system to do just that, keep things organized and well managed. The layout of the posting/scheduling calendar is relatively easy. For platforms like Pinterest, scheduling for Pinterest is easier, in my opinion, using Hootsuite than it is on the actual platform. I would like the ability to edit photos made a bit easier.

Hootsuite obviously makes it easy to manage social media posts and monitor for brand and company mentions. But having multiple users all being able to review the content calendar and collaborate accordingly is the real value here. It exponentially increases our output while minimizing the time necessary to accomplish everything.
  • Multiple users to collaborate
  • Visualize content calendar
  • Fill up content calendar in a timely and effective manner, all in one place.
  • Differentiate further from Buffer
  • More intuitive Instagram integration
If you have multiple people either working, managing, or approving social media activity, Hootsuite is a good option for you. To be honest there's not much difference between all the major platforms (Hootsuite, Buffer, Later). If you're very Instagram heavy, Hootsuite may not be the best fit but they are actively adding features so that may not be the case in the future.

Hootsuite was used for social media management and publishing. It removed the monotony of manually publishing and allowed social media managers to upload content + copy and schedule in advance. Hootsuite is great if you're looking for a simple, easy-to-use social media management tool. Entry-level social media coordinators to experienced social media managers will be able to get a firm grasp on how to use the tool and leverage its capabilities. It helps plan content in advance to prevent drop-off, however, there have been times where the content was scheduled and was never published - which is something to be cautious of due to the platform's bugginess. The analytics are bare bones. You're better off downloading data from a CSV and analyzing it yourself.

We started using the Hootsuite free version for social posting and basic scheduling. Over time they evolved as a platform and added new features like social listening, analytics, benchmarking, etc. We then upgraded our account to use all these new features to offer a suite of social products to our clients including community management.
  • Templates - Creative templates available are very good.
  • User experience is really easy to navigate.
  • Product road map and upgrades are good.
  • I feel the pricing can be better matched in terms of added services and add ons of the product.
  • The support provided can be better.
  • I feel the platform can customize solutions by industry and verticals.
I feel that the tool is well suited for basic features and for teams who have not evolved much (want to use basic features). It is a great entry-level product. But as you grow, there are other more evolved solutions in the market that should be given a try.

We had a strong need to bring together all our social media platforms for posts/campaigns scheduling and automation, which we were entirely doing manually on every individual platform... the pain I started my research and Hootsuite really seemed to be the fit for us, not only on the aggregation of platforms and scheduling but also on the analytics and social listening aspects! We also need to provide effective analyses of the performance of some communications of marketing campaigns that we pushed in a certain time frame, and Hootsuite provides an extensive number of possible analytics formats and angles which are invaluable for us. We also need to stay on top of the latest trends and words spreading around that tie into our industry, competitors, or even us, so we needed a powerful social listening platform that could give us the proper insights, and once again, Hootsuite delivered with its great Insights solution. And yet, we've only scratched the surface as there are more potential tools that Hootsuite can provide in the future that will be invaluable for us - e.g. CRM integration, employee fidelity programs, etc. Oh! And they're ALWAYS ready to help! #supercustomerservice
  • Bring together all our social media platforms in one place for efficient scheduling of posts.
  • Allow multiple members of a team to be in the program and schedule posts together - go teamwork - while leaving room for a review process, which greatly helps other members with learning the ropes and the tone of some of the messaging on different campaigns.
  • Analytics possibilities are simply off the charts; I'm finding new ways to present data every time I dig a little deeper.
  • It's complete integration with the different social media platforms it works with - e.g. can't tag individuals on LinkedIn, no tagging list on Instagram, etc.
  • Allowing the analytics of paid media content without needing to include the paid media bundle in Hootsuite (make it a possible separate bundle just for analytics).
  • That's it! Everything else is pretty rock solid!
We currently use Hootsuite Enterprise, but Hootsuite does have smaller-scale solutions for small businesses/start-ups and it is an invaluable tool to have to manage their social media accounts quickly and effectively to boost their reach and presence in their target market, all in one place! As for bigger businesses - as we are - it still provides a great amount of room for different specialized tools like CRM integration and social listening, which require more attention and strategic knowledge of socials and SEO, but it does allow it. It might hit a ceiling when it comes to fully integrated customer service throughout multiple departments in the company - although I did not see all the add-on tools that can potentially meet this need. But that is something that seems to be a stretch for Hootsuite at a glance, while other providers present this feature as a clear selling point for them. But all-in-all, Hootsuite is a beast for the smallest of the smallest, to the smallest of the biggest companies, if that makes any sense!

Great user experience and user interface! Super user-friendly! Really enjoyed the services! It would be nice if there are more subscription plan selections to better suit different company needs.
  • User experience and User Interface
  • User friendly, easy to use
  • Makes it so much easier for us to manage our content scheduling
  • More selections on Subscription plans so they can grow together with companies in different sizes
The user experience and user interface say it all. It makes managing content so much easier and so much more fun. The preview function is very helpful and the way you can view all your scheduled content from different social media panels in one single calendar view also makes it easier when it comes to content planning. I also like that you can save your content in the draft - You will be surprised not all scheduling tool offers this.
