Build & Communicate Schedules

The scheduling and labor management software reduces the time it takes managers to create and communicate schedules. All scheduling and employee information is stored in one central location, so managers have access to time-off requests, availability, skill level, and certification compliance.

Work Schedule App

The HotSchedules mobile app lets employees check their schedule, request time off, swap shifts, manage availability, and send messages. All shift requests require a manager's approval.

Forecasting and Reporting

When integrated with the POS, the tool pulls time and attendance, sales and guest data into the system. The forecasting engine shows past sales trends, which makes it possible to build schedules with the right amount of labor. There are also over 40 reports.

Multi-Unit Store View

The Above Store Console provides reporting and visibility across stores, anywhere and at any time. It can be configured by region, state, country.

Bilingual App & Support

The mobile app is available in English & Spanish. Employees can call into the AVS or Customer Support Center to get their schedule in English or Spanish - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Hot Schedules was selected by our organization, not just individual team members. In the past, we used Kronos which was terrible to use. It was not user-friendly and the app never worked, We constantly had to have accounts and passwords reset because Kronos never remembered a user after they logged in. Hot Schedules is much more user-friendly than Kronos.

I'd prefer to use only HotSchedules, for the potential ease with which one could streamline all aspects of employee maintenance. For instance, since we use 3 separate platforms, it is easy, around payroll time, to end up with discrepancies and have to triage those at the last minute. Each serves its purpose, but it would be more efficient to use just one.

Hot Schedules needs more messaging capabilities. Also if you are not integrated with a POS system, the forecasting is extremely tedious. I should just be able to enter a daily forecast easily. They offer integration with only a few payroll systems- not ours. I find the reports they have are not user-friendly, and I have to work hard to get the reports I need to do break and time audits.

The UI is far better than our previous we selected hotschedules because they stated it could do everything we needed but we were sorely mislead as when the time came to switch we found that it could not meet the needs we clearly outlined.

Kronos always seemed very dated and was not very user-friendly. There were many steps and hoops that needed to be jumped through when creating a schedule and it would not notify employees if their schedules were changed. The template system had to be created through an area director or someone that may not have known our specific location needs for scheduling and a lot of editing was necessary at the actual location by the members of management who were physically creating the schedule. HotSchedules has been a night and day difference from any previous products we have used.

I think it's great and we do like it a lot better. We also love that it is constantly improving. The export for ADP is useful as well and makes it so much easier to do payroll. For the price, it is a great alternative to ADP eTIME and handles itself better than other time and attendance systems.

I did not personally select HotSchedules but have enjoyed using it and I have not used any other programs for scheduling to make a comparison. In my past positions, I always worked with salaried employees and we did not need daily scheduling.

We think HotSchedules is a far superior scheduling platform, however, Shift Note is a far stronger logbook platform. We now have to use both because HotSchedules' logbook was so inferior. The way you communicate and can correspond directly to the logbook from your email relay is very, very helpful. Ascetically Shift Note is superior.

I believe HotSchedules is a premier tool for our businesses. Our last scheduler app did not provide the store log feature, where as HotSchedules provides all of the features that we need and MORE. Reports, Staff Journals, tracking task assignments, handling multiple time off requests. Best part, we still haven't used everything it provides.
