We are just starting to use the time and attendance model, but expect it will help with reporting payroll hours for our own payroll as well as for our staffing company employees. We are mostly looking forward to the time theft issue. We found sign in timesheets allowed employees to not accurately report hours unless watched like hawks. The same thing happened for employees when we set up timesheets in google docs. We considered a biometric thumbprint sign in, but have been using the traditional punch time clock, which makes processing payroll time consuming.

Absolutely! HotSchedules made it easier for us to manage employee timecards and all the time punches of our employees are being monitored properly because only the managers that have the permission to access HotSchedules were able to make changes if some time punches are incorrect or questionable.

It is [too] early to tell as we have only been on this for a month now but I do see the potential that the software has to monitor people on the road which was our biggest concern. We still have only scratched the surface I feel on what it can provide.

Well, it is easy to assist when it comes to time theft, we are able to track it when we look at hours daily or scheduled vs. actual hours, which is a great report.

In regard to labor regulations, we are based out of NYC, and we would love to have some of the special pay regulations set up in the system and be able to determine holiday pay in HotSchedules as well.

It monitors employee punches (be it clocking in or clocking out) - it reports the overrides as well and the reason for it, gives the manager a rationale on the variances in actual schedule vs schedule.

It also gives you a report on how many hours (variance) compared to your posted schedule - on a daily basis instantly, thereby giving the store more time to understand the variance and correct ASAP.

The time and attendance module is incredibly vital to the success of our business. We were a new business that just started out and luckily chose HotSchedules from the start and we have had minimal issues with these features. The addition of flags alerting us of staff staying punched in past their time and leaving early has been very helpful. As well as our new addition of the meals and break planning. We were somewhat disappointed our startup rep did not tell us about the meals and break planning that was included in our package. We had asked a few reps along the way and most did not have answers we were seeking. We had to reach out to our sales rep and ask about meals and breaks who then told us we were already subscribed to that package.

Time & Attendance has certainly helped us in many aspects. It has helped managers see an overall view of their employees hours worked and has helped them analyze where they need to make adjustments to the schedule. It has certainly helped streamline our process. Having the ability to export a document and with a few minor adjustments have it ready to be sent to our payroll company. Before Hotschedules our payroll department would spend hours moving information from one software to another.

We have definitely improved in these areas, though we haven't explored many of the payroll features on HotSchedules. However, the easy to use, centralized and easily modified employee blocks allow managers to easily and efficiently collaborate on employee reviews. The mobile capability makes this especially useful when one's organization is multi-tiered and spread across various properties.

For our department, exact start times are far less important than consistent attendance. We do not use the attendance portion of the module as scheduling production staff is an exercise in futility. I will say that the timecard system is the big benefit to us, as it eliminates the rather iffy paper timecards and gives me as a manager much more transparency in real time as to what people's status and hours are.
