We use HubSpot in our marketing and sales departments, and with it, we have seen massive improvements in inbound marketing, client retention and lead generation. HubSpot makes it easier for each department to see how their efforts are affecting sales. Being able to manage projects within HubSpot is a big change, and the integration of project templates makes it so easy to use.
  • Ease of use
  • Great support and customer service
  • Has all the features that most people need
  • Email integration can be a problem
  • It's quite pricey
  • Social media streams can only be set up for twitter
HubSpot is definitely well suited for a medium sized company that is marketing to other medium sized companies. The price might not be ideal for the smaller companies or ones just starting out with marketing.

Hubspot is being used across our whole organization in every department.

We're using Hubspot to integrate our clients' marketing efforts more effectively and for our own market and sales marketing.

We're using its automation for email, calls-to-action, CRM, reporting, workflows, SEO, CMS, lead scoring etc. It's an excellent tool for sales and lead nurturing.

The new features are excellent!

  • HubSpot has a lot of support built in with the Academy and related blogs, videos and webinars.
  • Allowing sales and marketing to work well together
  • Blog hosting
  • Email tracking is probably my favourite feature. We know the actions a user takes from the moment we send out an email.
  • Experience. Need to be an advanced user for more of the difficult tasks, for example it is hard to make the landing pages look great.
  • Cost on some of the functionalities.
Its a great all in one platform that can improve your marketing strategies and practices. It is great for those looking for a serious change to their marketing practices.

It is currently being used only by those involved with marketing, but with the launch of the Projects functionality, it will definitely be used by a larger portion of our company in the near future. Being able to manage projects within HubSpot is a big change, and the integration of Project templates makes it so easy to use.
  • Hubspot makes it easy to track, label and manage contacts easily.
  • Hubspot makes it very easy to push something out on all of my major social media platforms.
  • Hubspot has a lot of support built in with the Academy and related blog, webinars and videos.
  • I would like to be able to tag someone in a Facebook post I'm making.
  • I would like to be able to add more social platforms to the Monitoring features.
  • I would like to be able to schedule social posts based on my blog post at the same time that I'm making the blog post.
Anytime a small company is trying to set itself apart in the marketplace with a strong, consistent online presence, HubSpot should be considered. It is very engaging, the trainings are fun, and you can literally start with no experience and learn the whole system. I also highly recommend the books written by the founders of HubSpot, as it helps to conceptualize the ideas behind inbound marketing.

We use HubSpot to direct people through the entire marketing funnel, but we specifically replaced other platforms that performed these functions for us:

  • Email Marketing
  • Email Automation
  • Contact Forms
  • Simple Surveys
  • Landing Pages
HubSpot is also integrated with Salesforce through the API connector.
  • Equips you to walk a customer through the buyer's journey.
  • One stop shop for all your marketing needs.
  • Integrates well with other products.
  • Reporting tools need to be more useful.
  • The COS is not as user-friendly as at is trying to be.
I assume it excels for B2B's. As a non-profit, it does take some work to get HubSpot setup for our unique needs. It is flexible enough that we are able to make it work. Other tools weren't.

HubSpot is used by my entire team. I require that every member of our team get their Inbound Marketing Certification and HubSpot Certification (at a minimum) because it's so important to ours and our clients' success. HubSpot is a great tool that allows us to manage our entire campaigns in one dashboard and successfully determine what's working, what's not, and possible reasons for both.
  • Tech Support - They are amazingly responsive and helpful when you call in or email them. They work with you until your problem is completely solved. I've never gotten off the phone with them irritated because I didn't get the problem fixed (like most tech support services). They're awesome at customer service.
  • Training - Their training program is intensive and time consuming, but definitely worth it. They do a fantastic job getting everyone educated on their software so that each person can get the most out of it.
  • Technology - They continuously come out with improvements, changes, and ideas. They're working really hard to stay ahead of the curve which, as a marketer, is very nice.
  • Scalability - no matter how big your business gets, HubSpot can grow with it.
  • All-In-One - We used to spend far too much time switching back and forth between different programs, websites, and softwares. HubSpot has eliminated that issue!
  • Exportable Reports - This one is annoying when reporting to a client that doesn't want to be involved in their portal, but it hasn't been a big issue. Hopefully it'll be changed soon.
  • Pricing - It can be a little expensive, but that isn't to say it's not worth it. It's the best tool we've ever used and would pay for it even if we weren't a Partner Agency.
It's great for any business taking their digital marketing serious. It's not for someone that wants to just dip a toe into digital marketing. If you're going to use HubSpot, you better be diving in full force. It's a fantastic tool, but it's not meant for the "sometimes" marketers. Dive in!

We use HubSpot for all of our content marketing, web/user experience, e-mail marketing, analytics, CRM, and lead generation. HubSpot is vital to our organization in that our entire marketing and sales process is effectively run thru the software. HubSpot has provided us with the important enabling tool that has allowed us to build an inbound marketing strategy.
  • HubSpot provides the structure and tools to allow for effective content marketing - especially blogging.
  • HubSpot customer service is outstanding. This is mission critical for a small business with a limited marketing staff.
  • The e-mail functionality between HubSpot and Outlook requires additional work and careful attention. Images can get messed up and formatting can get a little weird.
  • It would be great if HubSport would lower the cost thresholds for the number of contacts that can be stored. We have to carefully manage our lead generation database so that we keep our totals with their cost parameters.
HubSpot is the ideal marketing automation software for small businesses looking to increase the effectiveness of their marketing strategy and execution. The software is affordable, loaded with a lot of great functionality and they have outstanding customer support.

Hubspot is used for all our marketing needs. We use the COS, content features, even sales engagement. All of our leads funnel through Hubspot. With Hubspot we are able to track a visitor across our many touchpoints down through our funnel. With this data marketing is better able to make decisions around successful campaigns.
  • Progressive profiling allows us to learn more about prospects and leads based on what we already know about them.
  • The workflows and creating nurturing campaigns are easy and allow us to personalize content better for leads and their respective needs and interests.
  • Targeting capabilities are exceptional. We can target based on actions or conversions.
  • It would be helpful if Hubspot could layer on Google Analytics so we could see visitors vs. unique visitors.
  • It would not be difficult to create an overly complex system with Hubspot. To combat that it would be good if Hubspot provided more best practice content and suggestions as workflows are created.
Hubspot is great for a company just starting with inbound marketing, or someone making the switch. It wouldn't work as well if the processes are based on systems not currently able to integrate. Also, if your business is not willing to let go of some features, like in templates or such, this might not be the best fit (but I recommend you re-evaluate your needs if that is the case, you might just be afraid of change).

We use it for tracking, blogs, emails, sales, pretty much everything. It's only used by me. It addresses which leads are hot since we know what people are doing on our site.
  • Email Tracking is one thing it does best. We know exactly what someone does from the moment we send that email out.
  • The Prospecting tool is really helpful because it's like google analytics but with more detail on who is coming to the site.
Its well suited for blogs and emails.

Our company uses HubSpot to market for our various clients. It allows us to schedule, publish, monitor and analyze blog posts, social media posts and emails. It also lets us automate our marketing to get the best response from our contacts. It has allowed us to increase our efficiency and lead generation.
  • Marketing automation that allows us to follow up with contacts in a very personal and meaningful way.
  • Blog hosting for establishing thought leadership and educating our audience.
  • Social media posting and analysis lets us schedule posts on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and see where our contacts came from and what worked.
  • Social media posting. We've had issues when posting through the social media tool in terms of how images appear in the preview in HubSpot vs. how they actually appear online.
  • The reporting can be confusing at times depending on what you are trying to track. Sometimes the data we try to bring up is very specific and HubSpot can't provide a clear picture.
If you are looking for an all in one platform that can improve your marketing strategies and practices, get HubSpot. It is great for big changes and for those looking for a serious change to their marketing practices. If you just need something simple, HubSpot can be good but not necessary.

We use HubSpot for our marketing as well as for our clients. We are a HubSpot partner agency so we do resell HubSpot to our clients. This means that we use multiple HubSpot portals for many many different reasons. It addresses different business problems for all of our clients but I think the most consistent one across the board is the problem most people have with not knowing who is coming to their site or what they're doing there. This solves that.
  • User-friendly and intuitive. All of the tools are easy to use and learn.
  • Support. Available nearly all the time. Incredibly helpful.
  • Ability to track contacts, what they're doing on your site, etc.
  • I don't love that some of the functionalities cost more.
HubSpot is a great tool for companies who are interested in understanding what happens with their digital marketing and how their visitors are using their site. This type of knowledge is especially effective for business types that have long sales cycles and/or require a lot of education to the consumer.

Hubspot is used for both our own marketing campaigns and our clients'. It allows us to integrate each facet of the campaign and know exactly what is working and when it works. As someone who has been intimately involved in digital marketing for the last 20 years, Hubspot is a game changer.
  • Conversion path especially forms, landing pages and calls to action are easy to create and integrate into blog posts and web pages
  • Analytics There is as much information and ways to look at it as you have time
  • User experience I find Hubspot very easy to use and intuitive
  • Training and Support The certifications got me up to speed immediately. We were having a positive impact on our business within the first month of using Hubspot
  • The image finder interface could be designed better with a wider view
  • enable an auto spell checker in the blog writer
  • Have calendar show scheduled messages
I can't imagine any business not benefiting from using Hubspot to automate and integrate their marketing, especially small business. It allows any size business compete evenly and may even favor small businesses because voice and passion can be communicated

Update 8/29/16: I have a new job and am no longer with an agency. I'm still using HubSpot and loving it! I chose this job *because* they wanted to leverage HubSpot as much as possible.

Before 6/27/16: We use HubSpot for inbound marketing, for marketing with clients, and we build full websites in the HubSpot Websites platform. HubSpot helps track marketing activities to see what's working and what isn't. It also lets us personalize content and deliver it to the right visitor at the right time and place with smart content. Finally, it helps generate leads with top of the funnel tools for content distribution and lead nurturing.

I love using HubSpot because it's easy to use, I feel like I'm lightning fast at accomplishing tasks like creating an entire marketing campaign including landing pages, thank you pages, CTAs and emails. Plus, the campaigns tool lets me track all that in one place which is extra awesome. (note: the tool to share campaigns with team members is SO fantastic!) Plus, the HubSpot academy and community together have SO many helpful tools for learning and constantly improving. I love participating in the community - it's by far the best one I've ever been a part of! There are podcasts, certifications, meet ups, and more. It's truly, to use an inbound-y term: remarkable!
  • The email tool is really fantastic and their recently updated email performance and reporting pages blow everything else out of the water.
  • Training to use the software is really top notch. There are interactive videos, certifications, and even live events for users.
  • The campaigns tool allows me to track all elements of my campaign in one easy place - plus - the sharing tool allows you to email a campaign to a team member where they can view and link to all the components of the campaign right from the email they get!
  • Lead generation and nurturing: tools like email workflows with branching logic and smart lists make this easy.
  • Support! HubSpot support is hands down the best I've ever worked with.
  • The reports add on! I've only just lately started using this but it's really really great. HubSpot has seriously stepped up their reporting functionality.
  • The smart content, while amazing, still gets tricky sometimes and can be weird. Update 2/10/16: this has gotten much better! The options have expanded and the color picker works with favorites now! Update: 8/29/16: I've found completely new ways to use Smart Content to personalize the experience!
  • The attribution reporting feature is awesome but can be confusing. Update 2/10/16: they've added more training and "projects" to help you get better at reporting!
  • The new WYSIWYG editor is a bit weird. Update 8/29/16: this has definitely improved and gotten less buggy but can still be tricky. I sometimes revert back to the sidebar editor.
  • Folders are great but are different in each tool for no real reason. Update 8/29/16: more tools have folders now but they still function differently.
  • Update 2/10/16: for some reason they seem to have removed the overall blog views from the blogging tool. it's only in page performance now...not sure why! Update 8/29/16: this has been fixed - there's a fairly easy way to get to the overall blog views! I still would love the "views" sort back in the main blog area though.
Anyone looking to generate leads on their website, especially those with a blog or plans for one, should use HubSpot. Plus, if you're using multiple tools such as Hootsuite, MailChimp/Constant Contact, Google Analytics, etc. to accomplish marketing tasks - you could do all that using HubSpot and have it all be in one place. It's so nice to have everything right there. Plus, anyone with specific marketing campaigns will love the campaigns tool as much as I do (it integrates with SFDC campaigns!).

HubSpot is also great for marketing teams. You can assign tasks to people in the calendar and color code items based on different things. It makes it really easy to assign tasks and keep everyone on track without using a separate project management tool.

It also works very well for email nurturing! I love using HubSpot for personalized drip campaigns to deliver targeted content to specific users and help them have a more segmented experience with our content.

We utilize HubSpot to manage our blog, landing pages, social, and all other parts of our inbound marketing strategy for our own business as well as several others. Through the HubSpot platform we're able to attribute our marketing efforts to actual business growth. The only feature we haven't taken advantage of yet is the new ads and reporting tools, but looking at doing so soon enough.
  • Simplifies managing multiple blogs and authors in a single platform.
  • Aggregates (nearly) all your digital efforts in one place in order to attribute results to effort.
  • Managing contacts and workflows for marketing automation.
  • COS Design Manager can be a bit cumbersome even for an experienced HTML/CSS professional.
  • Keyword research could be a bit more robust.
  • Our developers aren't the biggest fan of the email platform for extra-large deployments.
It is well suited for small to medium sized businesses who have a clear understanding of digital lead generation and the importance of developing buyer personas. A clear connection with those persona's buyer's journey is important as well. Without a clear understanding of what a 'conversion' is, it will be difficult to see value.

My agency is a HubSpot partner and has seen some great success driving more inbound leads for clients in the technology, construction and law sectors.
We manage client HubSpot portals and offer advice on inbound marketing best practices, we advise on the most suitable use of HubSpot products for each client in order to achieve their goals and get great ROI.
We get involved in onboarding clients and help with setting up client's portals. We also offer HubSpot design services.

  • Successfully integrates all marketing and sales systems required to achieve success with inbound marketing.
  • Really easy and fun to use interface.
  • Makes reporting [easy].
  • Offers a great CRM for free.
  • Social Media Publishing tool should feature some more social channels. The social media monitoring tool should allow for monitoring more social channels.
  • Improvement is needed in assisting bulk scheduling through the social media tool.

We use the HubSpot platform for implementing inbound marketing programs for companies worldwide. The contextual marketing capabilities of HubSpot allow our clients to communicate a unique message to each buyer persona at each stage of the buyer's journey. This capability allows their websites to speak directly to the pain points and concerns of their prospective customers.
  • HubSpot provides state of the art contextual marketing capabilities.
  • HubSpot is the only fully integrated Marketing Automation Platform.
  • HubSpot allows us to attract and nurture clients from being website visitors to clients of our customers.
  • The new add-on reporting of analytics is a phenomenal feature
  • HubSpot CRM is still in its infancy, but its support staff is responsive and new features added daily.

HubSpot is being used by the marketing department to implement our inbound marketing strategy of attracting strangers to our site so that they are exposed to information that is useful to them. HubSpot is where we publish and promote our content through their blog platform and social tools to attract those strangers into becoming visitors to our site. Once they visit the site, if they find the content useful, we offer them additional content (also published with HubSpot) in exchange for their contact information on a form published through HubSpot. We can then follow up with those leads using email campaigns and workflows right within HubSpot, ultimately closing them as customers.
  • Social inbox is one of my favorite tools. It streamlines the daily chore of "doing social media" for your company into something quick and straightforward. And because it's all integrated with the rest of our site, you have a holistic view of your leads and customers.
  • HubSpot does education very very well. Any time I want to learn more about how to use a tool in HubSpot (how do I publish a blog post tomorrow at a set time?), there are several different formats to choose from: blog posts, recorded webinars, videos, etc. And if it's more of a strategy question, (how do I know what to blog about?) they have education on that too!
  • The reporting is excellent. I can see if I'm making progress, and in many cases, the tool will provide hints how to improve metrics. Not performing well for a keyword? Write some blog posts about it!
  • Like many tools, you get out what you put in. The companies I see failing with HubSpot don't have a champion for the tool internally that has the willingness to take the time and LEARN how to use it correctly. If you use it, it works; if you don't, it doesn't. Duh.
If you're just starting out, it will be easier to get started with HubSpot. Its not that the migration process is difficult, it's not, but like all things, there's some overhead there. You need to have a person willing to become a HubSpot expert on staff to really get the most out of it, but it can be quite useful even if you don't.

Hubspot is being used by the marketing department for marketing campaigns and automation. We are also using Hubspot CRM. Hubspot allows our team to be more productive and get more done with less resources by centralizing all aspects of marketing and lead generation, and lead follow-up in one application. We manage everything from website pages, Adwords, email, landing pages and reporting inside Hubspot.
  • All-in-one software, you will not need any other application to achieve great results.
  • Easy to use, between its Academy, educational blog posts, webinars, account manager, full knowledge base and great support team, there's no going wrong with Hubspot when it comes to onboarding and ease of use.
  • The software keeps evolving, which is great. since I first became a user 5 years ago, Hubspot has evolved and added loads of new features, aligning with the latest trends in marketing.
  • Their CRM is in its infancy. It works fine for a company that has no CRM and starts using Hubspot CRM... but for anyone currently using any other leading CRM software, you may find it lacking n features and robustness.
  • It's expensive. Even though it's quite easy to show ROI on Hubspot, you still need everyone's buy-in to make sure they're on board with investing time, money and resources into inbound marketing to leverage Hubspot to its fullest.
It's perfect for B2B organizations that have a long sales cycle and/or high value sale. I find it tougher to justify the cost for companies with low-ticket sales items, unless you have a solid strategy to increase volume of sales using Hubspot. Also, it's easier to leverage all its features with two or more people in the marketing department.

We primarily use HubSpot within the marketing department. Although some sales persons use it as needed. It's used for marketing automation, website and email data analysis, social media, and data reporting. It's very helpful, and allows us to do the job of a large marketing team, with just a few people.
  • Continuous product updates
  • Tons of education and support
  • Too many features to count: segmentation, true A/B testing, reports, on and on
  • While there are a lot of features, it is still missing a few I would like (timeline activity as a field)
  • Still a lot of bugs throughout the system (random site-wide stats errors, contacts server downtime)
HubSpot is great for medium-sized businesses. It may be overkill for smaller businesses that don't do a ton of daily marketing tasks. But it's scalable, and has different tiers for different business applications.

  • Website CMS/blogigng/landing page tools are intuitive and very easy to use.
  • Reporting is easy to understand.
  • The workflows tool makes setting up complex automation sequences quick and easy.
  • The support from hubSpot staff has been exceptional, they've been there to help us get the best out of it and set us on the right path to using it to grow our business.
  • It would benefit from the addition of more detailed reports such as landing and exit pages.
  • It would be good to see other social networks such as Instagram in the social tool.
HubSpot is ideal if you have a considered purchase process for your products or services, it gives you all the tools that you need to be able to guide your buyers through their journey. It's not ideal if the value of your product or service is fairly low or your sales are of a more transactional nature.

We use Hubspot exclusively in our marketing department. I use the software to publish content, including blogs and landing pages, as well as collect leads and get them to my sales team. We previously didn't have an all-encompassing system for marketing and sales and Hubspot gives us that. I am the sole user of Hubspot, but I am trying to get the rest of the team to buy in.
  • All of my things are in one place - analytics, blog, emails, sales CRM, forms, etc.
  • Customer service and customer success managers are the best!
  • Better analytics than Google.
  • More in portal optimization checks.
  • The keyword tool for blogs. Currently, it only senses the keyword if you have the entire phrase together, whereas you should optimize by having variations of the keyword throughout the piece. It doesn't sense that.
  • More support for training teams that aren't marketing minds in the software.
Hubspot is great for teams of all sizes, but you need to be prepared for taking on a big software with endless capabilities. It can save you time, optimize your processes, and help you market smarter. It can also lead you down a rabbit hole. Come in with goals in mind or you won't be successful.

Hubspot is the marketing software we use for our website as well as the websites of our clients. It makes adding web pages and web content easier, houses all our marketing tools and templates, and gathers tons of data into neat little packages.
  • Helps collect data so you can provide both qualitative and quantitative data to support your marketing efforts.
  • Templates keep everything looking formatted and uniform.
  • Their customer service is fantastic.
  • Occasionally it's glitchy/won't load properly, but that could be our connection as well.
Well suited for blogging, marketing, website hosting, etc.

Mainly used by the marketing team.
  • Reporting is easy and straightforward.
  • Creating landing pages, froms, email workflows, etc. is very intuitive and requires little training
  • Notification are pretty easy to set up
  • Accuracy of lead source reporting went down significantly when we moved off of hosting the site via HubSpot.
  • Design flexibility of the site and site speed was significantly restricted by hosting the site on HubSpot which eventually led us to host on our own.
  • It goes out at random times about 1-3 times a month. Usually not longer than an hour but can be an issue if you only have limited time available to work on HubSpot.
From my perspective it comes down to budget. If you have enough sales or enough capital raised as an early stage, I would almost always pull the trigger on it if you have any expectation on significant percentage of your sales growth coming from inbound marketing leads. If the majority of your leads will not be coming in through marketing channels, then HubSpot's value versus cost goes down significantly.

HubSpot is used as a gateway to free content to generate and nurture leads through blogs, eBooks, and webinars. We also use it to schedule social media posts, track traffic, leads, and customer data and HubSpot is used as an on-going communication tool through automated workflows to keep our students up-to-date on important deadlines. It's a very robust and critical tool, but extremely pricey.
  • Great analytic reporting tools - "Sources."
  • Easy to create web pages.
  • It's easy to post content across different social media channels with tailored messages to each channel.
  • Price.
  • Customized webpage and email templates could be more streamlined.
  • Customer support wait times have grown. Recently I waited nearly 40 minutes to reach a support representative.
I would rate much higher if it wasn't so cost prohibitive.
