Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

Change management was minimal
As long as we give our team the resources to do well with a new platform, we don't have change management issues. The initial launch of HubSpot led to some backward glances at our old website hosting platform because it was so familiar to us - but as soon as we started diving into the functionality of HubSpot and saw its comparative ease of use, we were sold and haven't had a problem since.

Change management was a major issue with the implementation

In order to set up HubSpot you have to clearly know what you want to achieve (goals) and think over your buyer persona(s).

Implementing inbound marketing, even in a small scale, always means rethinking processes in the company.

It changes the way Marketing and Sales teams work together.

Because this was our first Marketing software, and we implemented it alongside Salesforce, we did not have any issues regarding "change management." We had a very smooth transition.

Change management was a major issue with the implementation
Once we were about six months down the line and feeling pretty good about using HubSpot, and generating tons of leads, it became clear that we didn't have processes to support our efforts to actually close leads as customers. Sales reps weren't getting the right info. from lead gen forms, we didn't have persona paths / lead nurturing outlined, sales didn't know how to follow up with inbound website leads or when, and data quality from our CRM was not supporting our marketing efforts.

Change management was a minor issue with the implementation
The major challenge we faced is our company is too small. We were paying the equivalent of one employees monthly salary to this company and yet the time-burn required to get us going was pretty huge. For us its a fortune. For the implementation partner its about half of what they needed to do the job properly. I feel that implementation partners should require customers like me to attend the Inbound Certification program and get certified. Otherwise we can't really understand all the work going on behind the scenes and it looks like nothing is happening. I discovered this when I had to part ways with partner and take over account myself. There is no way an outsider can ever succeed unless someone is working at a very high level with the implementation partner AND understands ALL of the functions of hubspot. Once I took over and was able to connect the blog to the web site to our product marketing strategy, we saw results. But the partner was not successful in generating any revenue for our company during the 6 months we tried working with them. Thats a huge problem for an ecommerce company. The lesson: Your expectations, your desire to dive in and learn and your ability to pay a contractor have to be balanced carefully.

Change management was minimal
There were no changes even asked for on our part. HubSpot molded itself to our business rather than requiring us to mold ourselves to it, which is something I find all too common in software. In order to use the software we have to change how we do things. No! With HubSpot we didn't have to change a single thing we were doing. It just helped us do everything better.
