When I was using Hubspot Sales it was being used by the entire sales department, which consisted of only me. I was attracted to it for some specific functionality, but what it helped me to do was organized personalized outbound sales at scale. In sales, it's hard to keep everything organized for outbound outreach. You need to send so many emails and do so many phone calls in a certain order. Hubspot helped automate the parts that can be automated.
  • Automated followup emails. It allows you to write your best emails one time, and to select an appropriate cadence so if a prospect didn't reply to an email, it would automatically engage them.
  • The CRM is flexible and simple. It allows you to organize all sales effort in one database.
  • There is functionality that allows someone to set up a meeting without doing a lot of back and forth emails. That's helpful and I think prospects are grateful to remove that friction.
Cons
  • I haven't had the best experiences with the sales team. It seems like I navigate to the Hubspot homepage, and I have a sales rep calling me 2 minutes later.
  • I haven't had the best experiences either with their support team. I had an email just recently from a support rep that told me he wasn't actually supposed to give me support. That was weird.
  • There are some prospecting and CRM software that's coming out that helps find email addresses for cold emailing. That could be a helpful addition to Hubspot's platform.
It worked well for me at a small company and as a single sales user. I'd imagine if you were on a 50 person sales team something like Salesforce might be more appropriate. Because of the price, I also don't think it would work well for a smaller company than the one I was at. I got by for about 12 months using just the CRM and the functionality it provided. The sales platform only became appealing when we were really trying to grow aggressively, and I wanted to scale my sale efforts.

At my agency we use HubSpot sales on a daily basis to keep clients and their specific deals organised, all in one database. HubSpot sales allows us to keep track of all leads and provides a logical pipeline system which allows us to follow up with clients easily. You are also able to call leads and current clients directly from the CRM and save the audio to refer back to it later. HubSpot sales definitely helps to align the sales and marketing teams at my agency.
  • The HubSpot sales tool is very easy to use and an intuitive CRM.
  • It's very helpful to keep track of clients and helps to automate inbound sales processes - making your life a whole lot easier!
  • I like that you can add notes to clients to remind you to take action.
  • Provides an excellent space for lead management and nurture - pipeline management.
  • I like that you can make and record phone calls straight from the CRM.
Cons
  • There isn't a lot of training on how to use HubSpot sales, but it is an intuitive tool so once you get the hang of it, there isn't really an issue.
  • Sometimes the system is a bit laggy.
  • Needs better integrations.
HubSpot sales is a simple and intuitive CRM for sales reps. I think it would work in small and also larger sales teams - it definitely helps to align sales and marketing teams and allows everyone to be on the same page.

We use HubSpot Sales Hub to qualify and get in touch with leads and prospects. It is a good tracking tool for our small sales team. I especially like the visibility into the Actions that a prospect is doing once the email is sent to them. I use HubSpot Sales Hub all day every day
  • Sequencing Emails.
  • Filtering contacts.
  • CRM management.
Cons
  • Being able to Merge Companies while connected to Sales force would help us.
  • Some way to confirm Email and or Phone # information.
  • Visibility into some of the marketing properties if you are in HubSpot Sales Hub.
When we have specific Personas that we are going after. It is important for us to be able to filter our ICP through multiple filters on the company and contacts page. The de-dupe process is long and tedious. I would like to see that process be more efficient in the tool.

HubSpot Sales - Use This For Email Campaign Automation

I used HubSpot sales exclusively to manage my outbound sales email campaigns both as a Sales Development Representative and a Territory Manager. It made creating and storing email templates and designing a sequence (several actually) very easy. This made it easy to A/B test new templates as well as sequences of emails so that I was able to continually refine my messaging.
  • Sequences is my favorite feature of HubSpot sales. The ability to automate a sequence of emails (and even create a reminder to personally follow-up or add on LinkedIn) saved me so much time and let me focus on other things, like identifying new targets and closing.
  • Their templates are powerful. It made building templates easy as well as storing them.
Cons
  • One drawback I experienced was the ability to run reports or queries on leads. I never did quite figure out how to find all of the leads I had in say, Arizona. It was easy, however to find all of the lead records at one company.
HubSpot Sales is ideal when you are doing lead generation. It makes automating outbound emails so easy and fast. I did, however, find myself using it less as I became more involved with accounts as those relationships required personal touches. HubSpot Sales was like my personal selling assistant and helped me find quite a few deals.

HubSpot Sales is An Easy to Use Sales Enablement Software

We use HubSpot Sales across some portions of our business in addition to our internal CRM that we regularly use. It is only used by certain departments or business units, not the entire organization. HubSpot Sales has some cool features, especially if you are a HubSpot customer. The email engagement tracking, customizable templates, sequences (similar to workflows in HubSpot) and document attachments are very powerful sales enablement tools.
  • Easy to use
  • Powerful tools for small sales forces
  • Tight integration with HubSpot
Cons
  • Not especially scaleable for larger sales forces
  • Limited permissions structure
  • Can be costly at larger scale usage
HubSpot sales is a great tool for smaller sales organizations to really enable their sales force with a variety of powerful and helpful features. It is heavily focused toward the sales enablement side of things (more than it is focused on, say, managing your sales force). Larger organizations with lots of sales people may find it very difficult to scale this product due to the simple way that things like lead routing are built.
