Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

If you are coming from a system such as WordPress, HubSpot can seem overly constraining. Realize that HubSpot is designed to put the power of a website into a non-programmer's hands. Your marketing people should be able to do pretty much everything, without resorting the technical staff.

Now that we are a couple years in, we clearly see what we should have done differently to implement HubSpot. We are now helping customers with their implementation strategies and inbound marketing plans. It's really important to involve your sales team and sales manager as much as possible so you can set up your CRM to support inbound marketing and vice versa. They also need to understand how the process will work with lead nurturing and timing. If they're not familiar with consultative selling, they will need training and a methodology overhaul in order for them to support marketing. Remember, you can have the latest and greatest technology, but you still have to do the work as HubSpot suggests and close leads as customers. They don't come wrapped on your doorstep right away.

Make sure the vendor understands your needs and you have VERY focused goals that align with your budget. Spend time breaking down those goals into really small pieces.
You may have to tackle smaller portions of those goals and revisit them. The creation of a hubspot account is very time consuming and complex. And parachuting an outsider into your business and expecting them to "get it' just isn't realistic unless you can afford a year or more of their time. But as a business owner its always hard to swallow the fact that you are going to spend several thousand dollars before you see even a hint of a result.

Again no hard feelings about the vendors efforts but I feel like we were destined to fail. Had I obtained hubspot inbound certification as a condition of working with the vendor, I feel that we would have saved thousands of hours and dollars. I'm asking for data that was at my fingertips. And my vendors burning time trying to justify his existence when he could be making my hubpsot better. This experience was better than most that I've had like this. Its just plain hard to succeed in online business no matter what product you use to market it.

Spend time with your rep to set up expectations and time line in depth. My rep, Ryan, did that and everything went smoothly and on the schedule he and I agreed on.

Within a month of implementing our sales graph took a big bump up and has grown from there ever since.

Every organization can always do better with implementation of new ideas and processes. To increase satisfaction would require greater involvement of administration. The increased satisfaction is more a requirement of our organization than it is with the use of the tool.
