  • Reporting is easy and straightforward.
  • Creating landing pages, froms, email workflows, etc. is very intuitive and requires little training
  • Notification are pretty easy to set up
  • Accuracy of lead source reporting went down significantly when we moved off of hosting the site via HubSpot.
  • Design flexibility of the site and site speed was significantly restricted by hosting the site on HubSpot which eventually led us to host on our own.
  • It goes out at random times about 1-3 times a month. Usually not longer than an hour but can be an issue if you only have limited time available to work on HubSpot.

  • Using the calendar is confusing - it would be nice to schedule reminders to create emails. Now you only schedule to send.
  • It would be nice if HubSpot had an event management system and survey capabilities - then I would not need Constant Contact and Get Feedback.

  • Great analytic reporting tools - "Sources."
  • Easy to create web pages.
  • It's easy to post content across different social media channels with tailored messages to each channel.
  • Price.
  • Customized webpage and email templates could be more streamlined.
  • Customer support wait times have grown. Recently I waited nearly 40 minutes to reach a support representative.

  • Ease of use
  • Learning made simple with the Academy
  • Great support team that gets back to you quickly
  • On boarding process where someone from Hubspot checks in with you weekly for the first month or so
  • The only issue I have is trying to switch over to the COS for my web hosting. It may be an issue with my current DNS and previous hosting site, but I have been trying (with help from an outside IT company) to switch over for about a month now and haven't been able to.

  • Hubspot is an excellent tool for marketing automation.
  • The forms and landing pages tools are very intuitive and even a simpleton like me can use it.
  • I like the "trello" feel of the deals.
  • List management could use some more work. I need more "And Or" options, not just filters.
  • I wish I could manage deal fields using contact fields and vice versa in workflows.

  • Workflow management
  • Social media monitoring
  • Only issue I've seen is some bugs with the social APIs (e.g. posts either delayed or unable to schedule). However, the customer service team are always on point and issues are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Workflows and Lead qualification
  • Tying web metrics to actual leads and closed sales
  • Automation
  • Does not have native search capability for COS. Makes you use Google search for website which is not optimal.
  • Creating CTA and landing page start to finish is cumbersome. They have made improvements, but still need to have that flow better.
  • Better reporting should be included for the cost, which is reasonable, but not cheap. Advanced reporting add-on is overpriced and should have been included in the first place. Not upgrading as a matter of principle.

  • Website development - easy to use templates, modules, and editors to develop modern and functional websites.
  • Blogging, email, content publishing - it provides every level of content development needed from in-line editing, personalization, SEO optimization/suggestions, and scheduling.
  • I currently don't have a con to report, but when I have had a complaint or issue, their support staff has been extremely accessible, friendly and curious to find solutions or embrace critique to make changes.

  • HubSpot, by far, is one of the best customer service providers I have ever experienced. They don't just teach nurturing, relational marketing, they eat and sleep it.
  • Their workflow system takes marketing automation to a whole new level. It allows integrated software to trigger automatic tasks such as: thank you emails, event confirmation emails, receipts, lead status updates, etc. I appreciate the software is "working" 24/7, even when I am not.
  • The ability to publish on so many channels in one platform is a huge timesaver. I can publish a blog post, tweet about it, and send a blog digest all in (basically) one motion.
  • It can get expensive to utilize all that HubSpot has to offer because they've segmented some of their features into purchasable add-ons. Sometimes I agree, other times I don't agree that a feature needs to be purchased for use.
  • I have had difficulty with formatting on HubSpot and having it appear very differently in certain email clients. There is a tool to preview the email, but certain differences seem like they should be obvious in the editor.
  • For non-profits, translating for-profit marketing was difficult at first. I've found I move fairly easily through the lingo now, but every once in a while when trying to work with other departments, I'll get a look, because I'm speaking for-profit language in a non-profit atmosphere. It would be wonderful to have a non-profit version of HubSpot.

  • Landing Pages - simple, easy to use, easy to implement.
  • Blog - Very customizable, also easy to use.
  • Support - the staff and support is top-notch, always there and ready to help.
  • Certain things/layouts can not be customized or changed from the HubSpot standard.
  • Changing between templates can be a little confusing at times.
  • A simple, personal preference: a drag-and-drop feature for file uploads would be beneficial.

  • Hubspot is really good in tracking of all digital channels.
  • I love ability to roll back any changes on the website with Hubspot.
  • The ability to integrate CTAs, landing pages, e-mail marketing, and a blog in one place is very useful.
  • Hubspot is not flexible in the definition of the sources. It has 8 predefined sources and there is limited ability to manage your channel like you want - Hubspot will decide what channels to allocate your traffic to and you have no option to change this decision.
  • Hosting a website with HubSpot has its own limitations mainly with design and functionality. Be prepared - your website will look old and not modern. And to change something there will require a person with specific knowledge.
  • It's also expensive, expecially for small and medium business. It sounds cheap (sales staff is doing a good job), but real costs of Hubspot are much bigger than you think initially.

  • I was a very big fan of the analytics this tool offers. The amount of data they can gather and aspects of clients' interactions on your site they can measure is amazing.
  • I was also very impressed with their customer service team who were always very helpful and quick with getting back to me with any type of questions/issues I may have had.
  • They have a wonderful knowledge of inbound marketing, although I no longer use them at my new company I regularly read their guides and blog. They have a wonderful education section as well and I took their inbound certification course it was wonderfully done.
  • The landing pages could have more features and better options for customization, it really was just basic. We found ourselves still using Unbounce because we wanted more choice, creative modern templates and the ability to customize layouts.
  • Exactly the same feeling on the blog. It was great and easy to use but I found myself looking for more creative ways to design my posts, layout my home page and just easier way to manage the blog posts.
  • A La Cart pricing would be a huge benefit as we really only wanted half the features the entire platform offered but had to make the case for purchasing the entire software to the higher ups despite knowing we were keeping Unbounce and mailchimp on board to fill in the gaps HS had.

  • Hubspot makes it incredibly easy to market. From social media marketing, to email marketing, to blogging, to everything in between, Hubspot's interface is easy to use and consistent. Even if you don't know anything about marketing, you can learn through the Hubspot Academy.
  • That brings me to my second point, the Hubspot Academy. The Academy hosts a plethora of information, from tips and tricks, to tutorials, to projects you can use to improve and strengthen your business. It has been an invaluable tool for our business and we use it on a daily basis.
  • The Customer Support. Hands down, amazing. I have never felt bad when I called, the customer support always helps me beyond what I was hoping for. They are easy to reach, fast, and always friendly. They take time with you too, instead of trying to get you off the phone.
  • Social media can sometimes be hard to use, simply because there are things that the platform can't do yet. But I have hope for the future!
  • Update May 2017: Hubspot has been adding newer developments and integrations consistently. This is making Hubspot even more powerful.
  • Every so often, HubSpot analytics will be down. This is hard to deal with, but they always get it fixed fast.

  • Creating and editing emails and landing pages content. Their new editor is a lot easier to use and simpler than a lot of other editors I've used.
  • Managing contacts and smart lists. We're able to quickly find and segment contacts as well as change the info.
  • HubSpot integrates with Salesforce really well. There's little to no lag time.
  • Onboarding is a breeze. They take you through every step in the process and give hold your hand during the entire process.
  • HubSpot has a sales CRM that has business calling. However, it's not as tightly integrated with contacts and workflows as it could be. For example, you can't add that you called a contact or need to in a workflow. Also you can't use the smart lists on the marketing side to create call lists automatically.
  • There's no way for account admins to make changes to the individual settings of an account holder. Sometimes a member of our sales team will need to change their settings, and it would be easier if I could go in directly and do so. Rather, I have to walk them through how to do it or go over to them and have them login to get access.
• There are some restrictions on design elements that make it harder to keep a consistent look with our overall brand image. For example, while there are social sharing options, there's no way to change out the style and icons used for social sharing elements in emails and landing pages.

  • The CRM aspect was amazingly well organized and easy to navigate. It amazed me to enter the information I had on a contact then watch additional information appear on its own and fill the contact out far more than what I provided!
  • Emails! From free to paid templates and anything your developers can cook up, HubSpot makes beautiful emails. Our developers loved it and were impressed with how easy it was to use as well.
  • With beautiful emails comes (hopefully) great automation campaigns. Coming from Infusionsoft, the logical structure of HubSpots campaign builder was slightly less intuitive than Infusionsoft, but it was certainly easy enough to pick up quickly.
  • The ability to define and assign customer lifecycle stages made all the difference in the world coming from Infusionsoft's botched CRM.
  • Customer service was great. I worked with Raleigh on some basic setup directions and he answered all our questions.
  • Hands down, the biggest con is the price tag. Obviously, HubSpot has their market and they do very well. However, the price is a big barrier for startups and small organizations or small teams. I operate my own business on the side and all I can afford at this early stage is HubSpot CRM (because it's free!).
  • As with any automation software, you need a good developer or development team to build the infrastructure before you can get campaigns going. Define and assign all custom fields, connect analytics, social, etc. Once this is done, occasional tweaks from developers will keep things moving but from that point, the non-developer marketer can do their job smoothly.
  • I honestly cannot think of any other cons. There is plenty of free support tools online as well as a staff willing to help.

  • It's very clear for everybody. I like their UX and UI. Everybody can work in it.
  • You don't need mailchimp, hootsuite,.... because you have everything in one place.
  • HubSpot is very human. They help you in every step you need. You can approach everybody and that makes it so much more fun.

  • Multi-language
  • Cross-linking through content types

  • A single place for everything - by coordinating all digital marketing tactics in the one dashboard the intelligence generated on customer interaction is accurate and easy to access. Comparative data compiled manually when using a variety of different tools would simply be too cumbersome to generate.
  • The flexible workflow builder for lead nurturing programs gives us a lot of control and automates what would otherwise be a very time intensive and error prone activity.
  • Personalisation and customisation - while there's no shortage of info and guidance on HubSpot's brand of inbound marketing, the tool is flexible enough to modify to our specific requirements
  • I'd like to see some better integration with WordPress - for example, the plugin lets you create calls-to-action, but their performance doesn't appear to be reported in the dashboard.
  • There's a wealth of resources in the forum, but the volume of activity means that questions can go unanswered.

  • HubSpot is great for giving tips to make sure your content performs well.
  • HubSpot offers multiple tools that work together great so that campaigns feel harmonious.
  • It is definitely possible to find individual tools that have more features than each separate HubSpot tool individually, but the whole is also much greater than the sum of the parts.
  • It can be difficult to find some features and settings, especially with new versions of old tools confusing things, but the HubSpot staff is always very helpful and willing to teach.

  • Blogging: HubSpot's blogging component is extremely intuitive. Providing you with valuable SEO recommendations to make sure each post is optimized to its fullest potential. Not to mention it is extremely user friendly and affords a marketer of any skill level the luxury of publishing remarkable content.
  • Email: HubSpot's emailing component is becoming more and more robust each day. With bigger and better analytics available, improving on your email marketing can be done rather easily. The emailing component is also extremely intuitive, making recommendations for the best time of day to send and works flawlessly as a marketing automation tool as well.
  • Continuing Education: The HubSpot Academy team provides HubSpot customers with an incredible amount of resources, live webinars, on-demand trainings and even certifications, that would make any marketing executive confident to know that their team has all of the resources necessary to work independently within the HubSpot software and acquire new capabilities every day.
  • HubSpot Support: The support at HubSpot is the best I have seen in any industry for any product or service. The support team there is always ready to answer questions and solve problems. And in the remote situation where they can't solve the problem right away, they will always, always, always call or email you back with their findings
  • Advanced Reporting: I really don't have anything to include in this section of the review but the one item that comes to mind, and HubSpot has improved their capabilities over the years, is the advanced reporting options. Custom report types and advanced reporting are more likely than not only available in the Enterprise Edition of the software.

  • More analytics for Social Media. Right now, comprehensively, you got deeper detail for Twitter, but still need other platforms to track social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn or Google Plus. I'm not quite sure if this is currently possible, but it is highly recommendable.
  • When it comes to business finance and management it would be great to have more content. It's not directly part of an inbound marketing tool, but if you compare with other content this bit isn't as good as the others.

  • HubSpot does a great job of helping you drive awareness, traffic and SEO by coaching you on developing and optimizing blog content.
  • HubSpot has a wonderful training program to teach you the fundamentals of inbound marketing and how to develop target personas, calls-to-action and landing pages that will increase your chances of success.
  • HubSpot's support team is tremendous. They are almost always there when you need them. I don't think I've ever held more than a couple of minutes to speak to a customer success team member and I have always been pleased with the assistance I have received.
  • As someone who does not have a programming background and took the time to learn the CMS, I was disappointed when they changed to the COS backend since I do not have time to learn a new backend.
  • I do not see HubSpot scaling for large enterprises. I believe they are an appropriate solution for SMBs who are committed to content marketing versus lead gen and scoring.
  • I have not used the HubSpot CRM, due to what it does to the cost of my personal basic plan. However, it integrates nicely with SalesForce where I use the enterprise version with my employer.
