IBM's Cloud Object storage has a very wide scope of use. In our organization, it is being used for internal operations which involves a lot of data generation from one department/subsidiary to the other. It has been an efficient and faster way to access bulk of this unstructured data. We work with a lot of students data which they generate through portal, and this has been a cost effective way to store it.
  • Scales well (faster)
  • User friendly once set up
  • Reliability has never been an issue
  • Set up process could have been easier
  • More dashboard analytics on data
  • Access control
  • Interface
It would work well in scenarios when there is a lot of unstructured data (with different types of data) that has to be accessed periodically that too in a secure manner. This has been our use case for this product. It might not be suited when you have very fast (high-frequency) moving data, which might not require encryption as well.

  • Very cost effective
  • Efficient management
  • Faster access to data
  • Better internal workflows
Yes, in some manner it has helped us to manage cost and use Cloud Object Storage more efficiently. We have been able to access the data faster for data exploration and ad-hoc data analysis. These are just initial views as it is to be explored more by our team for an upcoming task.
Aspera has enabled us to upload gigabytes of data each day on our WAN. It gets us real-time data feedback which in turn has made many of our internal workflows efficient, without worrying about aspects of data security.
Flexibility in storage tiers has helped us save a lot of money. There are some instances (which are difficult to predict) when we our data is dynamic, which is cool otherwise. This feature of IBM Cloud Object Storage has been a key factor in deciding which storage to opt. We have been using the smart tier.
We selected IBM Cloud Object Storage against S3 for following reasons:1.
1. We already use a lot of IBM's cloud services, IBM Cloud Object Storage would have been easier to manage.
2. It is really cost effective with the features it brings in.
3. Relatively easier to set up.

  • IBM Db2 on Cloud
It has helped us to make our workflows efficient by bringing services together under IBM. Spending is easily monitored, and it has reduced hassle.
IBM Db2 Big SQL, IBM Watson Code Assistant, Jupyter Notebook
Yes, but I don't use it
For my use cases, it has been a very smooth experience. Even my new colleagues have been able to get on top of things very quickly. This shows how easy it is to work with.

In our organization we have a very large amount of unstructured data, access to that information was very complicated, now with the IBM Cloud Object Storage access is very simple, we can access the information from any of our offices in the country, in addition to Search capabilities that allow us to access information more efficiently
  • the simplicity of access data concurrently from any location
  • Scale performance and capacity
  • all the security features
  • file access from file-based applications
  • setting the configurations
  • setting policies
IBM Cloud Object Storage is a very robust product that can be deployed on-premise and allows us to store all kinds of information for uses like data archiving and backup, web, and mobile applications. It was a bit complicated for me to enable Kubernetes pods to access IBM Cloud Object Storage buckets, but in the end, it worked very well

  • Positive, the easy access to information concurrently from any of our offices around the country
  • Positive, security features such as encryption
  • Positive, Interaction with Cloud Object Storage through Rest APIs
Being in-memory data processing engine optimized for low latency and ad hoc analysis of data allows us easy data exploration and instant querying, thanks to this we can save time and resources
Thanks to IBM Aspera's high-speed data transfer capabilities allow us to improve data transfer performance by rapidly uploading and downloading data over long distances and under various network conditions.
It allows us to achieve efficiency in the storage of information, not all the information must be in the fastest storage, which allows us to grow, store much more information without having to be more expensive
IBM Cloud Object Storage is a product that gives us greater scalability, and important security features such as WORM, in addition to Simplicity and Enhanced file access

I think it is very beneficial because of the robustness and security it provides us.
I think it is a point where the transfer rate could be optimized.
It is very beneficial, it is an aspect that I think is a great advantage because not all the information should be in the fastest storage, placing the information in its correct place helps us to optimize storage and final costs.
At the end of the day it is an IBM product that gives us a guarantee of being very robust, it is very safe, and reliable, and it also allows flexibility.

IBM Cloud Object Storage is being used by a cross-institutional research group for sharing data among researchers in different universities. Data sharing for files with huge sizes has become easy and organized.
  • Fast uploading/downloading, drag-and-drop options available for files
  • Detailed tutorials available
  • The user interface is cluttered. Very difficult to navigate to the relevant resources for a beginner. The navigation process is not obvious.
Sharing data greater than 1TB seems like a job for IBM Cloud Object Storage.
