It's fairly useful in terms of furnishing support for a service that we used for about seven months. It lowered the trouble demanded to conduct tasks and dupe data. Its AI is the most important, as the opinions made are truly authentic. and more effective at work. It's one of the most emotional IBM products I've ever seen. That's truly implausible.
  • Less power consumption
  • User friendly
  • Usage is effective
  • When compared to other virtual power systems, it is usually quick and has minimal latency.
  • Its perfection and responsibility set it piecemeal.
It's possible that it'll come wedged as a result of [the] increased operation. It only happens in exceptional circumstances and for a limited time. It isn't a disadvantage, although it may beget job dislocation. Its services and performance are excellent.

Storage is used for its traditional purpose as storage. We use svc on top to extend virtualization. Storage is used across most of the landscape. Usage depends on [the] project and role requesting access to it as most of the roles have specific usage and loads that dictate the way we share the load on storage.
  • Interface
  • Ease of implementation.
  • Automated troubleshooting.
  • Performance report out of the box.
  • Interface slow due to animation
  • Advanced troubleshooting requires CLI instead of GUI.
  • More easy to follow resources on CLI.
Best suited - Where budget is tight and the expectation can be met by using this tier of storage - not all features are required - also ease of usage and implementation is a key feature that should be taken [into] account as not very specialized administrator is needed not suited - performance demands and features required are higher than v5000 - also I do not advise implementation if all features are used as scalability will be an issue in the future.

We utilized IBM Flash System 7200 in our project for important production conditions to meet the business goal. This software provides the best repository system and great performance for managing corporate workload. It reduced the amount of effort required to complete assignments and duplicate data. Its AI is the most important factor, as the decisions made are more accurate and effective at work.
  • The amount of power [consumption] is reducing.
  • NV Memory Optimized From Start to End
  • friendly to the user.
  • Need some training for Initial deployment.
  • The cost is a little more.
As a high-performance tool with the capacity to optimize our organization, this is an excellent recommended solution for storage and low latency. We have a positive experience with IBM Flash System 7200, which provides good performance as well as compression features. Our customers are really pleased with the outcome and performance of this product.

IBM FlashSystem 7200 is configured as tier 0 in our production environment and is providing for the high-performance requirements for the OLTP systems. All our boot volumes are also configured on this system for a robust system boot. This helps us to keep the latency under 1 millisecond for our most critical workloads.
  • provides the end to end NVMe, that combined with our NVMe enabled hosts and SAN directors to provide amazing performance
  • Storage Class memory also adds to the ultralow latency
  • the immutable copy features help us to keep a golden copy at all times to protect against the cyber attacks
  • Data Reduction pools are handy, but they lack the support for vvols
  • SAN BOOT is not supported for certain AIX versions when connected using the NVME/FC protocol
  • Maintenance can be made easier
  • TCO can be brought down as compared to competition
In our case, the IBM Flash System 7200 offers high performance and adds storage optimizations along with compression features, and is configured behind svc as a Tier0 high-performance device. The Fiber Channel and NVMe allow us to implement a large number of disk arms, which leads to higher performance with more spindles. Its AI is the foremost imperative, as the choices made are really true and more proficient at work. IBM Flash System 7200 is well suited in medium-sized organizations which have the need to replicate and store a large amount of data with or even without cloud capabilities.

  • Large scalable cache
  • Data migration
  • Management of logical volumes
  • Only block storage
  • Suitable for smaller environments with performance tolerance
IBM FlashSystem 7200 is well suited for Easy operations Friendly UI Applications with the needs of FLASH storage and NVME protocol. IBM FlashSystem is less appropriate for: Large Organizations High performance needs like latency Applications like Oracle DB etc

The webserver needs to be improved. Mobile app access for monitoring purposes. Mapping of volumes to host should be more transparent. Volumes clubbed together to form Volume groups at OS level, if this can be seen in [the] web browser interface would be a great feature. Enforce users to have secured second-factor authentication.
  • Visualize total storage consumption on bar graph.
  • Login screen is very friendly.

  • More roles for users.

As system integrators, deploying [IBM] FlashSystem 5000 series on our customers is a cost/benefits decision in [the] first place. This product range of the series has a very accessible entry point (5015) and can scale up to the NVMe technology (5200) with fantastic performances still in a no-cost solution. We think these series are, with no doubt, the best in [a] class of the current market offering. We implement most of these systems at the production sites replacing older arrays while some of them are deployed at Disaster Recovery locations. Indeed, we configure some of these systems as backend storage of backup specialized virtual appliances in order to make them more flexibles in scalability terms. Also, the arrival of isolated snapshots this last year has become the most valuable feature on the 5x00 series of the range.
  • Super simple administration across the full product line: no other vendor has the same interface for the FULL product line, which is just unbelievable from the storage admin point of view.
  • The most flexible configurations capabilities of all the top storage arrays sellers. Usually, other vendors impose strong configuration restrictions sizing the arrays and combining different disk types, this is not the case with the FlashSystem products.
  • Full line replication capabilities: believe it or not you can replicate data not only between [the] same range models but between any model within the full product line, from the modest FS5015 to the high-end storage virtualizer SAN Volume Controller.
  • Currently, the protected snapshots are scheduled from the external software Copy Services Manager. That’s great when you have several machines but for customers, with just one storage array an internal scheduler will be a more practical option.
  • There is a wide number of entry-level FS50xx (5010,5030,…) out there. These machines currently lack the protection capability and will be great to do whatever IBM can to give them at least a minimum possible protection feature.
  • We think that the Data Reduction Pools have to improve [the] performance of entry-level arrays. Currently, we prefer standard pools in these machines that lack the hardware compression of her bigger sisters.
The product line is perfect for virtualization workloads of any size including VDI (that refers also to the entry-level machines), disaster recovery, or multiple sites replication (because all of them replicate in any scenario: LAN, metro area or WAN). If you need a real 100% data availability you can achieve it [by] implementing the hyperswap topology or as backend storage of the SVC in Stretched Cluster configuration, both scenarios will give you impressive data availability, we can confirm it. [On] the other side, they are not well suited in 'filer' scenarios because all the product line is 'block only' and will require a file server on top. That’s the case of object store-oriented projects, in this scenario you have better options without [a] doubt (at a higher price range).

These are the go-to storage systems for our small ESX deployments. Allowing 4 direct attached FC hosts means they are a perfect match of size and performance
  • Price to performance. Our clients are always looking to cut margins and still expect top performance. The IBM FlashSystem 5000 series enable us to give a great bang per buck ratio
  • With hybrid flash we get the performance we need and the right capacity maximizing the ROI
  • Simple to manage interface and commonality across the IBM range
  • Like all the Storwize product range the snapshots can be a little confusing especially if coming from other IBM arrays like XIV
  • Max speed on image mode migrations needs to be increased
  • Maybe increase the default replication bitmap space I have run out and needed to expand it from time to time
Our primary use case was for small, ESX farms direct attach deployments / POC labs. We did a seamless upgrade from a 5010 to a 5030 when the client changed its mind and required encryption. In this case, we had enough space left to delete and recreate the MDISK`s one at a time so the process was transparent and no outage was required.

We're using IBM FlashSystem 7200 as a refreshment of old storage (vnx) which works under heavy utilized MS SQL Cluster. CPU utilization was too high on that old storage and maintenance was nearly ended. It also has capacity issues, utilized more than 90%. We used IBM FlashSystem 7200 for end-to-end NVMe connection and added capacity with its unique IBM FlashCore Modules. San infrastructure already has 32Gbps san switches and we changed the host bus adapters of ESXi hosts with 32G. And servers connected to the storage via 32G NVMe supported connection. For using the benefits of the NVMe protocol first we update the ESXi to v7.0 for NVMe support. After the migration with the Vmware Storage VMotion feature, latency dramatically reduced on the SQL server by 40% and backups completed 2.5x faster than the old storage. It also decreases the SQL servers CPU utilization because there is no more io wait with NVMe and All-Flash solution.
  • End to end NVMe.
  • Lower latency.
  • High Availability.
  • Compression with no performance impact.
  • Snapshot management.
  • Integration with vmware on storage gui.
  • Detailed performance screen might be better.
It's well suited for mid-range to upper mid-range companies. High availability with hyperswap provides 100% availability. Single FlashSystem 7200 provides 99.9999% (6 nines). It's good for moving infrastructure to the new generation protocol NVMe. With NVMe it provides lower latency and higher TPM (transaction per minute) for database workloads.
