Its used across all departments & geos in my organization. The biggest problem it address is across Global Inventory Management & Revenue recognition like Transfer IN & OUT.
Also its capability with other applications.
  • The robust functionality of Sterling Order Management can be utilized across multiple selling channels, which include contact (call) center, store, web, and field sales
  • Check inventory availability across all locations
  • Sterling Distributed Order Management delivers the required visibility and event management across all fulfillment activity, allowing you to respond quickly to unexpected problems and meet customer expectations
  • Although not yet fully integrated, Sterling has a compelling Supply Chain Execution fulfillment vision that covers Selling, Order Management and Logistics.
  • IBM Sterling Commerce has been unable to generate significant sales momentum with their Warehouse Management System and Transportation Management System suites and is falling behind the competition. It is yet to be seen if IBM can turn this around and start to keep pace with the industry leaders
  • Sterling Warehouse Management Software depth and breadth of functionality is challenged in complex supply chain operations
  • Sterling Transportation Management Software is largely North American centric; lacking features to handle sophisticated global operations
What is the Development Technology ? What is the Integration Technology ? How much it can be Customized ?
  • Improved Order life cycle & Reverse logistics
  • Manhattan Associates
Its the one of the best supply chain s/w for Order Management & its scales with the existing company infrastructure.
The package of Sterling Order Management / Sterling Store / Sterling Call Center works very well and it supports the expansion to Geographies like US/EU/JP/China, some of hottest markets for e-commerce.
