For technical users Tm1 is very usable and has so many different options and scenarios if a user wants to get very detailed. However, I find that users with less technology or finance background sometimes find it difficult to use. Some users certainly do not get to experience the full capabilities of the tool due to lack of training or understanding of how it works.

People with all different years of experience are diving in head-first to IBM Planning Analytics and picking it up very quickly. With some well-designed reports to start the team off, confidence and curiosity are increasing, and more questions are being asked. As teammates realize the edge that it gives them, they're learning more and are able to move around very well on their own.

For developers, admins and end users looking for flexibility, IBM Planning Analytics would rate very highly on usability. For example, a developer has access to a highly performant built-in ETL (Extract Translate Load) tool and scripting language called Turbo Integrator that can (among other things) bring in data via flat file or direct connection from many data sources, move data around Planning Analytics, perform batch calculations, export to files or other data stores. In the rare situation where limitations are encountered there is a well documented REST API. Admins and end users benefit from the intuitive PAW (Workspace) interface as well as the rich Excel integration through Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE). Since flexibility inherently comes with a little more complexity, so an organization with simple and "cookie-cutter" requirements may rate Planning Analytics a little lower.

IBM Planning Analytics is difficult to use if you don't have enough experience. It took me more than a year to say that I can use this IBM software. IBM Planning Analytics is the best in terms of planning, cognitive processing and NLP, forecasting, decision making, and reporting, but usability is an issue that only gets fixed after a year.

For the most part, it is viewed as an easy-to-use product. The point of interaction is all-around planned and simple to explore, which makes it easier to find the data that we need. Moreover, its representation capacities are viewed as solid and intuitive, making it simpler to comprehend and decipher the information.

It is a good product. We have developed many dependencies on it now, seeing its usability and feature set. Its is now single source of data, which is now used for reporting and planning for future use cases using predictive analysis and what if analysis.

Some good things about the product are its forecasting and predictive capabilities with a good amount of data, although the documentation and complexity are concerning points for new users. So, all in all, if the teams can put in the required time to learn the features, this tools can be time-saver in the long run.

This tool is easy to use and fast to learn (with the correct training). It is easy to go into the tool and start building reports from scratch, go into different cube views, drag and drop different dimensions, and start different processes. IBM Planning Analytics with Watson is very user-friendly and is a great tool to have.

It is a great tool overall, there are many good features like cost analysis, time analysis, KPI monitoring, real-time updation of data, multiple users working at the same time with no loss of data, etc. Also different analyses like what if analysis and other kinds of reports are great in this tool.

The Planning Analytics with Watson platform has been improving a lot in terms of usability, but there is still opportunity to improve the end-user experience. It is very common for users who are new to the platform to have difficulty with the concept of cubes, but over time, for those who use it more often, the experience is always very good.

Particularly, I prefer to use Architect and IBM Planning Analytics workspace for my developments. But the platform have other interfaces and connections that the user can have access, like Excel os even performance modeler. It will depend on the user needs and skills to operate the solution. But the commands and functionalities are very intuitive.
