What is IBM Robotic Process Automation?

The IBM® Robotic Process Automation offering helps automate more business and IT processes at scale with the ease and speed of traditional RPA. Software robots, or bots, can act on AI insights to complete tasks with no lag time and enable the user to achieve digital transformation.

Typical RPA benefits include the ability to 1) reduce human error, 2) accelerate time to value, 3) increase throughput, and 4) reduce costs. IBM Robotic Process Automation enables workforce augmentation by performing repetitive tasks, acting on data extracted from unstructured documents, and conversing with intelligent chatbots using text and voice response.

In addition, IBM Robotic Process Automation helps clients apply intelligence to classify and understand content, prioritize tasks, make predictive decisions and apply AI to operational data. Core automation features enable users to manage work along with monitoring and reporting capabilities.

The most efficient chatbots every day and are scalable as modifications are made in their functionality for specific tasks such as emails, administration, customer response system, revenue orders, we know the capabilities of chatbots to improve sustainability in a scalable way progress can be seen in many critical areas. IBM Robotic Process Automation is not a single task tool, this is what makes its scalability the best of similar tools.

We already have more than 20 chatbots in operation in each department, which has required increasing self-service processes with direct customers who may require the provision of data regarding each department. The chatbots for the warehouse and supplies department perform the task of uploading data from the sales codes of the products to supplies to the suppliers in an automated way, this is an advance in reducing time.

IBM RPA platform is having features like Machine learning and AI chatbots powering the Intelligent processes with the less human intervention and automation. looking at the compatibility the RPA can have n number of use cases across the organizations .
The Chatbot by the IBM Watsonx Assistant can do more than that of chat by providing the quick and accurate answers across platform and provide dialog interaction in between the conversations .

We understand that IBM Robotic Process Automation processing chat bots are available to integrate with messaging platforms. Specially for the finance operational back office functions and processes, there was not many experience or opportunities to integrate with third party messaging platforms. However, where we may be exploring this is in areas where chatbots can address basic frontline questions.

We have integrated SAP S/4 Hana as well as Google Email system and experience is very good. There is some setup time at the initial stage but post that operations are very smooth and there is very less involvement of human. We can schedule this process at night also which keeps very low load on the SAP system also.

IBM RPA streamlines the procedures and guarantees smooth corporate operations. The tool's user-friendly design makes it simple to use fast and precisely. IBM Has pre-installed Bots that provide business process configuration, integration, and the execution of sequential activities. This feature is what I appreciated most. To streamline procedures and boost efficiency, it integrates the numerous processes and data from the many resources. The time of response and carrying out automated task also reduced due to Bots.

We have integrated IBM Robotic Process Automation only with internal messaging platforms, I guess we will not do that for the external or consumer facing platforms in the near future, the tool we have employed was IBM MQ (messaging and queuing middleware) and after this integrations internal messages are far more clear.

We have integrated IBM Robotic Process Automation with Facebook Messenger and it helps us a lot, in the future we are also planning to integrate Chat GPT-4 to create answers to help IBM RPA to drag and drop them where/ when ever they're needed. That's more or less how our integration works.

Because we are using enterprise chat platforms thats why it's almost impossible to connect with Skype Enterprise and/or Microsoft Teams to IBM Robotic Process Automation, it requires a lot of due diligence from corporate side to integrate IBM RPA, we currently do not have it. I suppose we won't be having it any time soon.

IBM RPA in my current company is not employed with any chat platforms, it would have been a lot better it was employed with Skype Enterprise at least for our corporate, that's why I couldn't comment on this part a lot. I heard that it might create wonders even for corporates.

There are many uses for chatbots, in my case, I have managed to implement it in Slack, Facebook, and WhatsApp with very promising results for departments such as human resources that must keep in direct contact with customers, also the marketing departments implement chatbots to interact with customers on Facebook.

Chatbots integrate very easily with third-party messaging systems only when we already have an adequate configuration, chatbots can answer recurring questions without problems and if the client wants to chat directly with a member of our team, they only have to select that option to tell us your requests directly.

At this moment we are implementing the tool with Whatsapp and Zendesk only. This has been a difficult task so far because it requires some detailed programming to work the way we need it. But i am very convinced that it will work great in the end. Therefore we trust on the knowledge of our integration partner.
