What is IBM Robotic Process Automation?

The IBM® Robotic Process Automation offering helps automate more business and IT processes at scale with the ease and speed of traditional RPA. Software robots, or bots, can act on AI insights to complete tasks with no lag time and enable the user to achieve digital transformation.

Typical RPA benefits include the ability to 1) reduce human error, 2) accelerate time to value, 3) increase throughput, and 4) reduce costs. IBM Robotic Process Automation enables workforce augmentation by performing repetitive tasks, acting on data extracted from unstructured documents, and conversing with intelligent chatbots using text and voice response.

In addition, IBM Robotic Process Automation helps clients apply intelligence to classify and understand content, prioritize tasks, make predictive decisions and apply AI to operational data. Core automation features enable users to manage work along with monitoring and reporting capabilities.

Finally, organizations can accelerate time to value by creating, testing and deploying new automation schemes in hours, instead of days or months.

When used for workflow management or for tasks which require decisions based on data or AI can be trained, it works well. But it can use on scenarios that needs to consider so many factors as it gets to set it up and also gives unexpected results.

I recommend it since we process a lot of information on a daily basis and this software can process it automatically, without making mistakes or inconveniences. IBM Robotic Process Automation has been very beneficial in reducing the daily working hours of human personnel, since the bots do them automatically and very quickly, the requirements to be able to program them are minimal, which generates more confidence to implement it.

There are extensive tasks that must be 100% automated to optimize the company's resources and we feel that it is possible with IBM, it is difficult to achieve the objectives because it is a complex RPA, but after its complete configuration you can notice directly satisfactory results. for the entire company, it is possible to improve the hiring of personnel with the classification of income orders, it is also a good opportunity to classify mail, documents and even classify the most active and most productive clients that the company has.

An RPM expert can use all the software on the market without any problem, but for some inexperienced users it can be very difficult to use certain products on the market... This does not happen with IBM Robotic Process Automation because it is very intuitive and in general, all users have managed to implement the bots at some point. I consider it the best in terms of its ease of use and also thanks to its enormous reach in technical service applications.

IBM Robotic process automation has a drag-and-drop option that saves around 80% time of coding and makes us more productive on other tasks, as well as RPA has the power of AI that is helping to build perfect automation for us.

RPA IBM Review

While it can be applied to various scenarios, its suitability can depend on the specific requirements of a given task or process. Here are some scenarios where IBM RPA is well-suited and scenarios where it may be less appropriate: Well suited: 1.Data Entry and Data Migration: RPA can efficiently automate data entry tasks, such as copying information from one system to another or migrating data between databases, reducing the risk of human error 2. Report Generation: RPA can generate routine reports by extracting data from various sources, formatting it, and delivering the reports to the relevant stakeholders, saving time and effort. 3. Email and Message Handling: RPA can help manage and categorize emails and messages, such as routing customer inquiries to the right department or processing routine email requests.Less suited for: 1. Cases where there is High Variability: RPA may struggle with tasks that have a high degree of variability, where each case is unique and difficult to standardize. 2. For Complex Decision-Making: RPA is rule-based and not designed for complex decision-making processes. It cannot replace the judgment and decision-making capabilities of humans.
3.Tasks Requiring Creativity: RPA is not suitable for tasks that require creativity, innovation, or problem-solving skills, as it operates based on predefined rules and logic.

On comparing the market scenario, the Basic perspective is based upon the Usage and Cost of the tool. The IBM RPA provides the flexible and cost effectiveness licensing along with the customer requirements but gets the impression of High Licensing cost on comparison with the other RPA tools like Uipath , Automation Anywhere , Blue Prism etc. 3rd party app integration is one more hectic side , but the plus point is the AI insights to complete process

I think IBM RPA is very suitable if your supply chain workflows have lots of repetitive or time consuming tasks, or tasks that have a lot of room for human error. Reducing these was the main motivation for our purchasing decision. For where it doesn't fit in well, I'm not sure if it fits in well with data from production machines, especially machines like ours that have a wider range of variation.

Some scenarios based on our experience where IBM Robotic Process Automation can be well suited includes processes that are high volume, very repetitive, and generally clerical or straightforward in nature. For our organization we were looking to automate more of financial back office operational type processes. This product worked out well for these scenario cases.

I think IBM Robotic Process Automation is more suited in case there is a huge data and work is of same nature. IBM Robotic Process Automation takes care of mistakes and avoid human error. IBM Robotic Process Automation can be more effective if the format of attachment is uniform across all suppliers etc.

if data is less and format are not standardized, IBM Robotic Process Automation faces cost / OCR reading issues.

1.In my knowledge, Well suited scenarios contains the tasks of automating repetitive operations like data retrieval and filling out forms. RPA's primary goal is to reduce human error in manual operations by automating the data collection and analysis to provide services to clients. Suitable for the departments who required 24/7 support from chatbot. High level management can get valuable insights from the data collected from different departments.

2.IBM RPA not suited where very high speed of operation required and also some complex task are beyond its capabilities can only solve with human interactions.

IBM Robotic process automation is best suited for testing repeated things multiple number or times. Or for carrying out regression testing.
Whenever developer gives a new build for testing and we have to carry out testing against it from End to End we use RPA and complete task.
The report generated from IBM RPA helps us in analyzing the quality of the build .

It's very common especially in corporates to confuse Robotic Process Automation via Artificial Intelligence even with Machine Learning that's why some of the use-cases we have had required AI or ML or both of them and RPA's additional value there would be really minimal, given the internal dynamics we set everyone's expectations better after a while.

All the scenarios that include OCR data capture are a good fit since IBM Robotic Process Automation is working very well with the images. On the other hand, if there is automation to be done with some complex iteration that includes if/then statements some issues can be faced since they are not supported and you need a workaround to complete the automation.

Providing constant and not so much changed information is the area where we employ IBM Robotic Process Automation. It provides all the necessary information, we seeded before and satisfy the consumer needs 24/7 and I suppose its accuracy is quite high when it's compared to the density of manual work.

If your company works with global standards as well as regionally accepted standards, IBM Robotic Process Automation probably works very well with detailed settings. However, if you are dealing with local semantics as well as niche methodologies creating an automation processes would have been difficult than it normally is. That's why I would recommend to be careful before trying to implement it.

Let's assume I have 40 in-depth consumer interviews about a product category however there is a limited time to process these to create an insights. On top of that, IBM RPA would process these interviews with given codes and give me the similarity results at most in a day and then I can use them.

Working internally with the process automation team is my recommendation to users who are not familiar with IBM Robotic Process Automation, visually it seems like a very easy-to-use software but this is far from reality. IBM Robotic Process Automation is highly recommended for all departments, experience is needed but this is acquired over time, Chatbots will give very functional results for departments that use messaging tools more robustly.
