It can't be usable when it doesn't work, and additionally, there are serious problems with the video library management. [There is] No way to do bulk tasks, no way to use keyboard commands for functions like video trimming or thumbnail selection. Things don't always sync, things get lost. It's a disaster.

This is an extremely easy online product. It works seamlessly. Editing the thumbnail picture or trimming the video can be frustrating because the changes can be time-consuming to make. This has been more difficult since an update was made to the way the editing is completed. I love the product because it works every time. Sound is easy to monitor and adjust. The quality is great - great visibility and help to share that we are live. The archives are easy to access too.

The web interface was intuitive and the capabilities met our needs. The eCDN setup was a bit of a bear, but it performed flawlessly when deployed. We did not use Producer (our video ingest vendor did and speaks highly of it).

Usability is an area that Ustream shines at. A persistent URL (channel) can easily be created for recurring events. Since Ustream is integrated with SSO solutions, event organizers need only to send out the URL to viewers. With secure live streams, the coordinator can easily limit who can watch. My only complaint about usability is the volume on the player is set at 50% by default. My most frequent comment from viewers is that that the stream is not loud enough. They are not always aware of the volume button.

Our day to day usability is automated through the API. However, the uStream control panel is user-friendly and our admin people have no issue in jumping in there to perform tasks as required. End customers have a great experience using the uStream embedded player within our custom website.

Ustream does everything it's supposed to do. It delivers high-quality live video with zero downtime. The backend is easy to navigate and the setup could be done by a child. We stream live video on several channels 24-hours a day, 7-days a week with very few issues. When we do have downtime it is always a local issue.

I gave this rating because of the solution's overall usability. The learning curve for non technical people to use Ustream Align was really short. Just turn everything on, log in to Ustream, and click the Go Live button. Pretty darn simple if you were to ask me. Which, of course, you just did.
