Don't bother with iCIMS

There is no easy "help" feature when you just need to figure out how to do something. Who has time to wade through videos, blogs, articles, etc. which you can't save and return to later with a keyword search.

We had two demos with a rep, when we tried to see if there were ways we could improve our iCIMS usage. The rep couldn't answer any of our questions and frequently didn't even seem to know what we were talking about (e.g. passive candidates versus active applicants).

I'm sure support is fine. I haven't needed to get support involved yet. If I have questions, I usually go to my HR reps for help. But I think that says something about iCIMS. It's so easy to use that I don't need support, and I didn't need training to start using it. Very simple.

ICIMS's support is great. They are prompt in responding to questions. Their case management system segregates questions based on the topic and a person with expertise is then assigned. You can also email them or call them for immediate business needs. They have a good user community, a lot of answers can be obtained by using Google to search.

I thought our direct customer contact was poor. They were difficult to get answers from, they kept transferring us to other resources because they didn't have the answers, and never made time for us. iCIMS technical resources were easy to communicate, but if you aren't a large client of theirs, I'm not sure they will give you the time of day.

Poor communication with admins, and slow-to-respond technical support. The software is well designed, but when there are bugs or it doesn't seem to be working properly it can be quite difficult to get the necessary level of attention and support from customer support. The folks on that team do their best but one gets the sense that they aren't properly staffed.

Earlier, I mentioned that iCIMS has an email feature to follow up with candidates. If a candidate submits an invalid email address, and you try to respond to that address, it causes the email response feature to stop working. This is incredibly frustrating. It can be resolved, but requires engaging their support to fix it. I shouldn't have to do that, the feature should just work.
