As a DevOps group manager, I have a team of SRE engineers who are in charge of maintaining the stability and integrity of all our infra. Since we are a medical company we need to have Dev and Stage systems with almost 100% availability, the same as Production and for Production, we need to maintain 100% strict. We are using Uptime Cloud Monitor as the first line of defense to ensure that all our Cloud Infra is up and running and serving external and internal customer needs.
  • Very simple and easy dashboard
  • Configurable dashboard
  • Very good statistics reports
  • The tools is not very cheap
From my experience, production availability support is the best scenario. My SREs are working very closely with our NOC team, which is monitoring dashboards and using them to find issues and resolve them very quickly. We also can alert based on the metrics which is very useful to be aware of the issues in real-time.
  • Dashboards
  • Metrics
  • Since availability is increased significantly, we are in much better relations with our customers now
First of all, the most important difference for me is the ease of use, and ease of creating dashboards and metrics. The cloud monitor allowed us to migrate from our in-house system to a cloud-based system. It is not cheap, but compared to alternatives it is not that expensive.
