We have a small business but still have needs for off-site storage. We were using another company for years but their service has been failing. We have a relatively small amount of data to store so we did not need a huge space, nor complications of one account for each computer.
  • One account for multiple computers
  • Very simple dashboard for configuration, backup, restore, etc.
  • Multiple tiers of storage space
  • Flexible scheduler
  • Improve the estimated time for backups
  • During the initial scan advise which files are NOT going to be backed up
This is a great solution for personal or small businesses. With no dedicated IT department it falls on the owner to make sure the company's data is safe in case of local failure. IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 was simple to setup on our 3 computers. The option to upgrade to more storage makes it a good solution if demand requires more space.

Currently no other online storage offers the price point and the size of storage that meets the needs of my use. With the 5 TB limit for personal use this works great for me. As a new user the interface for windows is easy enough to understand and any troubleshooting is quick thanks to the online support and many tutorials. So far I have not encountered many issues and have found the service reliable and suiting of my needs.
  • Large storage
  • Data Back up services
  • Data Retrieval services
  • Ease of use UI
  • Sometimes glitchy, issues where the file preparation loop gets stuck
The amount of storage for the price point is the main reason to pick this service. Perfect for anyone looking for large storage option in a cloud.

I'm mostly using the cloud drive. I was looking for a reliable service that could give me a reliable service with enough storage space and the right price. IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage service was the best I could find. I simply back up my stuff on a cloud drive and I have access from anywhere in the world. It also lets you back up your phone and simply whatever you have and it can be accessible on the network.
  • Enough space
  • Reliable
  • Great Price
  • A flag that would let you know if you're backing up a huge directory, it was not disrupted
  • Showing checksums and more directory size and number of files
  • Could sort cloud drive files based on time stamps
I just recommended it to a friend last night! It is perfect for my use and it is what I was looking for.

I luv the easy gui. Works well. Price good as I always find a way to take advantage of s better price every year. Cust service is responsive. Only problem I've noticed is when trying to restore my backup back to my PC, the download speed was super slow and also would fail towards the beginning of the process. I have since purchased a diff external storage hard disk drive which vastly improved the speed though it is still too slow. At least I was able to get my 960GB backup restore downloaded back to my new ext. HDD.
  • GUI
  • cust servcie
  • options
  • Restore download speed to a local computer, PC.
  • better price without relying on promotions.
a well scenario would be its like a server, set it and forget it.. not so well, someone needing a more basic solution and better cost.

I use iDrive to back up all of my important design files and archived work. Having a cloud-based solution in addition to my local HD backup creates a secondary tier of security if something were to go wrong.

IDrive helps me to keep an online backup of my important files, and syncs to my on-site server automatically so I don't have to think about it. It means that I have complete redundancy for my data and never have to worry about losing anything. It all works seamlessly to backup overnight so I never have to intervene in the backup process.
  • Automatic Sync
  • Plenty of storage
  • Simple interface
  • Too many steps in Synology backup app
  • Even more storage
  • Make it a little easier to download backed up files
I love IDrive, I recommended it this issue in the technology magazine I edit. When I moved between Synology devices, IDrive made it easy for me to access all my important files and then download a backup to my local devices. It also means that it's faster to access my files on IDrive over a business connection than it is my Synology over a residential connection.

I used it daily to backup both my personal and consulting files. I love the automated nature of the software as it allows me to ensure that any work product I am currently working on is being updated without me needing to manually initiate the back-up.
  • Automate back-up
  • Seamless IDrive access and capability
  • Ability to have multiple devices backed up with information easily accessed.
  • Update pf GUI to a more modern look
If you are looking to use and forget for backing up your files, IDrive is for you. With both a generous online storage plus local backup, it allows you access your data whatever setting you are currently working in.

Offsite storage and disaster recovery solution for raw files and databases.
  • Cost of storage versus solutions like Google or CrashPlan
  • Capabilities to capture real time changes
  • Versioning capabilities
  • IDrive client bandwidth throttling does not control upload and is not granular enough to allow proper configuration.
  • IDrive client time elapsed and time estimates do not include days complete or remaining
  • IDrive support responds with canned or automated message not directly related to feedback/requests/concerns.
If your SMB is need of DR solution, IDrive provides a cost effective solution against the competition. IDrive has options such as versioning and real-time backup.

While I would love to use iIDrive Online Backup and Object Storage, I have not been able to do a complete backup since I bought the product. I called tech support multiple times and they finally escalated the issue. It's been a month and despite constant asking for an update, they have done nothing. They just keep telling me that they are working on it. The most important file for me to backup is my Outlook .pst file and it will not work. It's only 4GB. At this point, I have to go elsewhere because I want that file backed up.
  • Small files back up
  • Tech support is available 24/7
  • interface is easy
  • In my experience, If you have a file larger than 4 GB, good luck.
  • I feel that tech support sends canned responses
  • It's my belief that if you have a problem, tech support may never help you
IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage is not useful for me at all. I need a backup system that can actually back up my files. And they have been stringing me along with tech support for weeks. I don't expect to receive a resolution.

I back up work files used in a music production business as well as disc imaging of system hard drives in case of failure.
  • Easy to understand navigation
  • Automated scheduling of all processes I need
  • Affordable options for multiple backup solutions
  • I just started using it and I'm happy with everything I've used it for.
I like the available options for storage pricing and having multiple services bundled together like file backup and disc imaging is a better value than some of the competition. The program is unobtrusive and doesn't tax my computer at all. Giving a simple notification when the processes are complete is all I see. It's easy to customize too. It's great for small businesses and there's an opportunity to expand services if the need arises.

IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage offers excellent pricing and package options, making it a great choice for storage needs. However, one aspect I've noticed is that whenever there is a disconnection, I have to reupload the files again, unlike other cloud storage services that automatically resume uploads once the connection is restored. Despite this inconvenience, I find IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage to be reliable and efficient in performing its intended functions.
  • capacity
  • simple
  • user friendly
  • user interface
  • disconnection back-up?
For me, I appreciate the functionality and performance of IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage, although I have noticed that it requires manual reuploading of files after disconnections, unlike other cloud storage services that automatically resume uploads. However, overall, it remains a reliable and efficient solution for my storage needs.

The goal is to backup all ongoing work on a constant basis, to avoid loss due to technical problems and man made errors, to facilitate online exchange and communication. iDrive is a simple, efficient and secure tool, easy to understand and to handle. Encryption is good, speed is missing if you have huge data to upload. The downside is the potential cost if you go over the plan quota. Customer service is fast and efficient. So far we are all very satisfied.
  • Convenient for storing all kind of files
  • Quick retrieval during restores
  • Very cost effective
  • IDrive server sometimes slow
  • Over limit charges unclear
  • All functions on PC and mobile device should match
iDrive was easy and fast to setup. At the moment I am using it mainly for personal reasons, but looking for the right time to use it simultaneously, in the office and at home. It is suited for for someone who looks for a lokal backup for unlimited devices for up to 5 TB per account. I chose a promotion of 24.88 US for the first year. This is an excellent value and gives me plenty of time to evaluate it. Beside occasionally slow upload speed I didn’t come across disadvantages so far.

I use IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage to daily backup all of my business and personal files. I like to have the ability to find old files that might have been accidentally deleted. The backup is easy to set up and implement. The security of knowing my files are safe is very important to me.
  • Daily backup
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to access files from past backups
  • Reasonable price
  • I just realized that there was no backup done for 13 days, and I would have liked to have received an email or other notification
IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage is especially suited to my business and personal uses since I regularly make changes in old files and constantly create new ones. Since it backs up automatically, I am assured that old and new files will be saved.
If someone does not have as many files as I do or doesn't make as many changes, they might not need IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage.

I use it as a cloud based synched storage so that I can access creative files on a any number of devices. iDrive has solved the issue of Adobe Creative Cloud discontinuing cloud synch for it's storage. I rely heavily (almost daily) on having creative assets available to use when I need them. I am also looking at a robust and secure platform for a backup.
  • Speed
  • Intuitive UI
  • Ease of use
  • I feel the dashboard can be a bit cleaner
  • poor aesthetics
Ideally suited for my daily videos. Using phone to shoot, upload to iDrive cloud and then retrieve to edit in Premiere Pro on desktop. Encoded back to the iDrive cloud and then posted via phone. I haven't really come across or experienced any scenarios that iDrive would prove to be less than appropriate.

Being within media production I generate a lot data, I backup locally to a Synology NAS but needed to have an offsite backup solution in place, having run out of space on Google Workspace and not having the option to upgrade my storage there without significant cost I decided to move my backup to IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage. It took 3 or 4 days to back up the first time, which is completely understandable. Now it's in place it backs up my data twice a day and gives me peace of mind knowing that my backup strategy is solid. It's just been running happily in the background ever since the initial installation (which was easy, they have an app for Synology). Easy, works great, can access anywhere, they have phone apps and desktop apps... Very good would recommend.
  • Easy to set up
  • Hands off NAS backup
  • Notifications
  • Access Everywhere
  • Would like to see favourites in the desktop and mobile apps
  • UI on desktop app could be improved, larger icons and type
It's great for backing up a NAS and sharing files and great value for money.

We used to take manual backups of various folders and even SQL DBs, however, due to IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage's process being automated, we can maintain backups cost-effectively. IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage auto back tool desktop version is very useful and efficient for the auto backup process. It has saved a lot of manual effort for our company and we are also able to restore files as per requirement. The yearly cost of this tool is the cheapest in the market with high reliability.
  • Auto Backups of SQL DBs
  • Auto Backup of server folder
  • Easy retrieval of backup files
  • Cost-effective storage of backup files for reference
  • I need to explore the APIs of IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage, but maybe it can add more effective APIs for backup management
If you want to manage backups and avoid costly cloud storage, then IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage is an effective tool. Other leading cloud providers have very costly storage and charges for bandwidth as well, so compared to that, this is an effective tool.

We backup to their cloud and local nightly to protect all data. It's a bit slow and clunky but cost effective solution. However our equipment has never gone down so we are unsure how a restore would work.

This is an individual decision but for small business effectiveness it works.

I use it on my laptop it's great I don't have to think about it at all. It automatically backs up my entire drive and the best part is after the initial backup it only needs to upload changes so it is quick. I would highly recommend that you also use it's local backup feature as well to ensure you data exists in 3 places.
  • Incremental backups
  • Local backup
  • Online storage
  • User friendly
  • Share an online folder like a drop box
  • Offer existing customers the same special deals
  • Allow upload of encrypted backups
Very well suited to having a could copy of you entire laptop so that if you lose it there's no worries. Not so good for use as a drop box it's is difficult to use it in this way. It's useful for cloning drives. Easy to get started, user friendly.

I have used IDrive to backup my RAW photography files to ensure they are safe for my past and future clients.
  • backup local files
  • backup external drives
  • very slow upload speed in my opinion.
The system seems amazing. I think a lot of factors play into the speed of the upload and considering I am uploading thousands of gigs, I get it. In my experience, however if my computer loses power, the entire backup (potentially days or weeks of progress) is lost. They do offer to send you a physical drive to upload to and mail back, which I will be considering.

The product is used as my offline backup of my personal NAS.
My NAS crashed and I lost all my data. It was a time consuming recovery which I refuse to allow to happen again. My home system backups go to the NAS, along with music and family photos and videos. Once a month I backup to iDrive.
The monthly backup is sufficient.
  • Backing up my data from my Home based NAS
  • Scheduleing of monthly backups
Backing up your data unattended and storing off-site is excellent
Able to access my files on the NAS DIRECTLY, would be better than currently access through a mapped drive

I write technical papers that require a great deal of work and research, and the thought of losing them to data issues is terrifying. IDrive is great because it allows me to back up my files every night while I sleep and know that if the unthinkable happens and my system gets bricked, I can always just get my backed up data from IDrive. I wouldn't work without it.
  • Back up files
  • Provide peace of mind
  • I wish the app didn't start after install performing a backup before I have selected the folders that I want to backup.
  • The interface could be more intuitive, but it isn't awful by any means.

IDrive's software works seamlessly across all my computers and the initial file upload went smoothly. I'd like if I could choose specific files not to sync, but with 5TB of storage, it doesn't really matter--there's room for everything. I used to use a competitor but the software became buggy with the new Mac update. So far, I'm really happy with the switch and plan to be an IDrive customer for a long time.
  • Store files
  • Download files
  • Software
  • Choosing specific files to upload or download (instead of just folders)
IDrive is well suited to back up personal and business files up to 5TB. It's been helpful in making sure all of my documents are constantly backed up without me worrying about it, and it's also been useful having cloud back-ups of various film projects. We have the projects backed up on physical drives as well, but the cloud storage makes us feel extra secure.

I use the IDrive to backup original digital negative files from archived photoshoots. Also backup important files from a laptop and desktop.
Also backups an external hard drive where files are archived first so I don't need to worry about HDD failure. Have a large amount of data also so IDrive is very competitive.
  • Easily add folders for backup.
  • Cloud Drive option to sync files is great
  • Value for the amount of storage is fantastic compared to most
  • Cloud Drive selective sync is a little clunky compared to others (MacOS)
  • The menu bar options could be streamlined a little to improve UI for things like pausing and resuming backups.
I've found IDrive to be fantastic value for the amount of storage available. Standout feature for me is having the Cloud Drive option to sync files in addition to the traditional online backup feature. Being able to backup multiple computers and also external drives is great.

We use IDrive for all our offsite backup needs, whether backing up or NAS or individual workstations. It works across network drives and has local application support for Synology and other NAS Operating systems which has been very beneficial from a workflow and efficiency process as we moved our data to a NAS based infrastructure. Instant email updates on scheduled tasks and faultless reliability along with excellent value for money. This provides us with an easily accessible offsite store of our important data, in the case of an emergency or even simple accidental deletes by employees it gives us peace of mind. It means even if all of our infrastructure fails on site, or is stolen or damaged, we still have a copy of our data safe in the cloud.
  • Local backups
  • NAS applications
  • Value for money
  • Reliability
  • Switching from the old platform to the new one has always been an issue, not a problem for new users though I believe.
  • Having to upgrade to a higher tier to get new special offer upgrade deals
  • The interface can be a bit slow sometimes on lower powered NAS devices I've found.
  • If there are two scheduled backups of the same data they will run concurrently and slow each other down in my opinion.
It scales well from the individual to corporate environments with many different plans to suit your needs and budget. For backing up servers such as Exchange or SQL I've used their sister product iBackup, which is also excellent and we have no problems with, so maybe they should merge the two products into one which would make it a better overall proposition. It also seems to handle backing up mapped drives as well, which is what we used for a while before getting the on server version. That being said it can use up quite a bit of bandwidth so make sure you schedule at night when noone is working. However it does only backup changed files which is great.
