I use IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 to backup my videos for my YouTube channel. The process is easy to use. I like how it quickly checks what has already been backed up before the next backup. I also like that I can download my videos for editing directly from the site so I don't need to use my external hard drive. I have the app on my phone as well which allows me to check what clips are online and I can watch them online too. I love that I can easily share the link with others to specific folders so they can download. I can view the clips on the phone app but not on my laptop.

Great solution for small business offsite backup
We have a small business but still have needs for off-site storage. We were using another company for years but their service has been failing. We have a relatively small amount of data to store so we did not need a huge space, nor complications of one account for each computer.

Nice Product and Great Price
I'm mostly using the cloud drive. I was looking for a reliable service that could give me a reliable service with enough storage space and the right price. IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage service was the best I could find. I simply back up my stuff on a cloud drive and I have access from anywhere in the world. It also lets you back up your phone and simply whatever you have and it can be accessible on the network.

IDrive!! It gets the job done!!
I used it daily to backup both my personal and consulting files. I love the automated nature of the software as it allows me to ensure that any work product I am currently working on is being updated without me needing to manually initiate the back-up.

IDrive is a cost effective solution to offsite storage
Offsite storage and disaster recovery solution for raw files and databases.

- IDrive client bandwidth throttling does not control upload and is not granular enough to allow proper configuration.
- IDrive client time elapsed and time estimates do not include days complete or remaining
- IDrive support responds with canned or automated message not directly related to feedback/requests/concerns.
While I would love to use iIDrive Online Backup and Object Storage, I have not been able to do a complete backup since I bought the product. I called tech support multiple times and they finally escalated the issue. It's been a month and despite constant asking for an update, they have done nothing. They just keep telling me that they are working on it. The most important file for me to backup is my Outlook .pst file and it will not work. It's only 4GB. At this point, I have to go elsewhere because I want that file backed up.

I use IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage for comprehensive online backup of important data that I generate. This addresses the problem of a one-step backup and imaging solution in the Cloud instead of local solutions. I use this as a comprehensive solution for retention of backup data off-site.

Pros and Cons of iDrive
The goal is to backup all ongoing work on a constant basis, to avoid loss due to technical problems and man made errors, to facilitate online exchange and communication. iDrive is a simple, efficient and secure tool, easy to understand and to handle. Encryption is good, speed is missing if you have huge data to upload. The downside is the potential cost if you go over the plan quota. Customer service is fast and efficient. So far we are all very satisfied.

Keep Your Head in the iDrive Cloud
I use it as a cloud based synched storage so that I can access creative files on a any number of devices. iDrive has solved the issue of Adobe Creative Cloud discontinuing cloud synch for it's storage. I rely heavily (almost daily) on having creative assets available to use when I need them. I am also looking at a robust and secure platform for a backup.

Great, stable backup software for my NAS
Being within media production I generate a lot data, I backup locally to a Synology NAS but needed to have an offsite backup solution in place, having run out of space on Google Workspace and not having the option to upgrade my storage there without significant cost I decided to move my backup to IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage. It took 3 or 4 days to back up the first time, which is completely understandable. Now it's in place it backs up my data twice a day and gives me peace of mind knowing that my backup strategy is solid. It's just been running happily in the background ever since the initial installation (which was easy, they have an app for Synology). Easy, works great, can access anywhere, they have phone apps and desktop apps... Very good would recommend.

IDrive wonderful archive utility
I was looking for a cloud product that would safely store tens of terabytes of<br>Data siored on various devices across the network. One that would allow incremental backups and did not require the network devices to be constantly connected.

Personal NAS backup
The product is used as my offline backup of my personal NAS.
My NAS crashed and I lost all my data. It was a time consuming recovery which I refuse to allow to happen again. My home system backups go to the NAS, along with music and family photos and videos. Once a month I backup to iDrive.
The monthly backup is sufficient.

IDrive's software works seamlessly across all my computers and the initial file upload went smoothly. I'd like if I could choose specific files not to sync, but with 5TB of storage, it doesn't really matter--there's room for everything. I used to use a competitor but the software became buggy with the new Mac update. So far, I'm really happy with the switch and plan to be an IDrive customer for a long time.

Backup without the hassle
We use IDrive for all our offsite backup needs, whether backing up or NAS or individual workstations. It works across network drives and has local application support for Synology and other NAS Operating systems which has been very beneficial from a workflow and efficiency process as we moved our data to a NAS based infrastructure. Instant email updates on scheduled tasks and faultless reliability along with excellent value for money. This provides us with an easily accessible offsite store of our important data, in the case of an emergency or even simple accidental deletes by employees it gives us peace of mind. It means even if all of our infrastructure fails on site, or is stolen or damaged, we still have a copy of our data safe in the cloud.

- Switching from the old platform to the new one has always been an issue, not a problem for new users though I believe.

We use iDrive for image backups, and incremental backups, both local and to an encrypted cloud. We do system state backups for our server, and we support 30+ other customers with their iDrive accounts. We've had to restore data in the past due to ransomware attacks, data loss, and employee errors and it has never failed us. With any backup solution, it's integral to verify backup integrity often.

Super easy to use and works perfectly.
I have used IDrive for several years on both my business and personal computers at home and office. I use IDrive as insurance against any type of computer hack, failure, incursion or undetected defect. I know my files and docs are safely stored in the Cloud, and if I have any problems or severe threats, I feel IDrive has my back.
- Super easy to download, setup, set preferences and key account settings.
- The first back-up took all night, but after that the back-ups are quick, seamless, and always on-time per my preferernces.
- I love the confirmations and details on each and every back-up start-up and completion. Very informative and reassuring.
- Very easy to get back anything that I may forgotten to save or replace during the work.

IDrive vs Box
I use this to back up my laptop. This is a fast easy way to get all my files backed up when I need to switch to a new laptop. Unfortunately, IT no longer allows this to work as of a few days ago. I think they changed the firewall settings and it is not on the approved list for use by employees.

A better solution to Backblaze for external devices

I was a user of Backblaze for over 5 years, but it didn't play well with backing up external drives. It seems that Backblaze deliberately throttles the upload speeds for external devices and it would take weeks for a single backup of 1 TB of content from an external device.
When I heard about IDrive and the way they structured their plans I was interested in trying it out due to the cost benefits, but after the initial backup, which was night and day different from Backblaze, I was sold.

The other annoying thing that Backblaze would do is delete backups from external devices if they weren't connected in 30 days. This would make things like going on extended vacation stressful, which is so stupid.
Additionally IDrive made it easy to backup multiple computers, and this was another thing that Backblaze charged extra for, even though it didn't work well.
So if you're like me and need to backup multiple computers and external devices, this is the best option available as of July 2023.

With this solution I can keep my data locally and quick update it on IDrive. Very easy user interface, efficient. Easy to do backup of a Laptop or smart phone. The application for the smart phone is very well designed and intuitive to use. I recommend for personal or business purposes.

absolutely worth the value
I am using the 10TB yearly personal plan. My main use of the IDrive service is data backup and syncing across multiple computers. Although the backup process could be made faster, the subscription plan is absolutely worth the value for all the features it provides. In my work, I usually deal with TBs of data and I need the data stored forever. It has many tools to manage scheduling and error handling. It uses 256-bit encryption which is relatively secure, and it gives the user the option to have their own encryption as well.
- Its desktop application has a lot of handy tools accessible.
- Provides a lot of storage.
- Data archiving seems to be quite good.
- Making the backup process a bit faster especially when dealing with a large number of files.
