We utilize an Infrascale Platform device at our main location for VMWare server backups - as well as a cloud-managed device for off-site backup replication. Infrascale Platform makes it VERY easy to take backups at the VMWare level so that you don't have to deal with backing up within a Windows-Based environment.
  • Backing Up At The Virtualization-Level of a server environment
  • Email notifications built-in, allowing you to know when backups have failed - or if there's a firmware update available for the box
  • Backup Replication to off-site hosted appliance
  • Customer service is ALWAYS immediately responsive. Never have to wait more than an hour to hear back once a ticket is submitted
  • Honestly, none come to mind. We've been very happy with their service and support provided.
The Infrascale Platform solution we have in place is certainly not cheap - I believe we are paying about $2800/month for it, though it is quite robust. We have 18TB of on-site storage available, with the same available in a secondary - remote - device for replication. They do have a wide range of products available to any size business though, so I'm sure they have cheaper offerings as well. The on-site appliance is fantastic - in that in houses your backups, but can also be utilized as an emergency piece of hardware to spin up a backup and run it in the event of your primary hardware failing. You can also traverse full backups to grab single, contained, files if you so choose. We love that feature as we must perform file recovery monthly for audit purposes.
  • On-site and remote device storage
  • Managed equipment
  • Ease of backup restoration to original hardware or to a different location
  • Email notifications for several different types of events
  • Support available 24/7 - with fast response times

  • It has freed up an incredible amount of my time - as far as managing our backups goes.
  • Email notifications bring important notifications to my attention immediately
  • Infrascale Platform is always providing updates to its software - which can be installed when it's convenient for me.
Infrascale Platform is the most modern backup service/device we've utilized. EaseUs and Ghost were just software that would run within a Windows environment (at the time) and backup to a device that we kept on-site. EaseUs would fail quite often with Incremental backups - so I would spend a lot of time re-running full backups to ensure we didn't experience data loss in the event of a crash. Ghost was used when I was first hired at this district - so I didn't have much hands-on experience with it. But I know it was a bundled offering with Anti-Virus back when we utilized it ('07-'09ish).

Infrascale Platform is a great backup solution that provides both the software and storage under one roof at some of the cheapest rates in the business. You buy data in pools and separate them out to the computers as you want. All this is done under software that you completely white label, so your client doesn't know it is all being done under Infrascale.
  • Backups. You can customize the schedule and methods and create real snapshots for your important data.
  • White Labeled Software. It has real, effective ransomware protection all managed under one place and one white-labeled piece of software that is easy to use for any MSP.
  • Price.
Well suited to backing up your clients in all segments across all platforms. From legal, to health, to banking or endpoints. There is no solution that Infrascale Platform can't cover. All can be white-labeled and it's easy to deploy at a good, stable price. You can also use it to back up VMs, and it does 15-minute full disaster recovery while protecting against ransomware.

  • Reduced backup costs.
  • HIPAA compliant. Allowed us to gain business in the medical field.
  • CIP compliant. Gained business in the financial field.
It is one of the best cloud back up data protection software and software platforms on the entire market for MSPs. There are not many other solutions that offer this level of customization and execution in the data protection and disaster recovery arena better than Infrascale. I highly recommend it for any MSP.
It is the cheapest way to truly protect data and has an amazing support team behind the product. You get what you pay for.
It's a little more expensive than Backblaze, and with Backblaze you have to use third-party apps for automatic backups.
Infrascale is less expensive than Google Cloud Storage and AWS Backup, and also cheaper than Microsoft Azure if all you need is a backup and disaster recovery platform for your data that includes good ransomware protection.

We are using the Infrascale Platform for disaster recovery which includes a full VMware virtual server environment backup. We have an onsite device, provided to us by Infrascale, that we can spin up should our VMware host servers go down and that device is mirrored to the Infrascale Cloud Center where we can spin up our virtual servers there, and/or have the cloud device shipped to us overnight for onsite deployment.
  • Makes consistent, verifiable onsite backups of our corporate data.
  • Makes consistent, verifiable offsite backups of our corporate data
  • Plays very nice with VMware, the infrastructure we currently use
  • The interface can use a serious update. It's understandable, but not modern.
  • I don't like the fact that it forced an upgrade to VMware. That's not something that can be done by every company very easily.
  • The restore process can be more intuitive.
Well suited for a company that has an extensive virtual environment setup. Definitely a good choice for companies that require an in-depth disaster recovery system, especially when the infrastructure is hosted in house. This system is expensive on a monthly basis, so I would not recommend this to small businesses as there are less expensive alternatives out there.

  • Peace of mind: our entire virtual environment is backed up both onsite and offsite
  • As stated, it is pricey. Since we haven't needed to do anything more than basic file restores, ROI is hard to measure. A full restore of a virtual server immediately would be priceless. So, on that note, ROI is good.
I'll state up front that our VAR pushed us to Infrascale as they fully manage this particular choice/vendor for us. I manage the system itself, so I did have final approval. Between Axcient and Infrascale—they do exactly the same thing. I can say this about Axcient, their tech support was excellent. I haven't had cause to contact Infrascale support just yet, so no comment. Regarding Code42, this is one of those "less expensive" options I mentioned earlier. This is a super stable platform that provides straight backup (File/Folder), but not for virtual environments.
