Infusionsoft is a small business-focused, comprehensive sales and marketing platform, which includes basic contact management, CRM, marketing automation and e-commerce capabilities into a single, subscription-based SaaS product. In April 2012, they opened a marketplace that includes more than 70 apps compatible with its software suites that incorporate tools such as SMB text messaging. We enter their information into our system and then begin the trickle marketing. It helps to track all marketing pieces that a prospect receives and how we can proceed from there. We also track all conversations and notes of communication in the process while working with the prospect.,Trickle marketing, where we can send emails out to our prospects and through their actions, they can be added into other campaigns which we can follow up with them. Tracks our notes and communication with each prospect. It tracks the charges that are associated with the prospect or client profile. So we can see how much they have paid for a specific program they are associated with.,Moving our clients who have bought a program from us into a searchable field and program that would help us find these individuals easier. We use Infusionsoft for the prospecting side of the business and then once the sale is completed they are pushed over to Salesforce. Salesforce allows us to have more campaign and marketing follow through. If there was a way to make it simpler to use only one of these software it would be easier as well as less expensive. Sending an email from Infusionsoft is nice, but I have to add my signature every time. Keep us organized when the entire team commits to using it consistently. Helped us manage new, inbound leads we generated, even though setting up lead scoring was a pain in the butt. We set up our "products" which we sell as services and integrated with Auth.net and our merchant account. Created internal notifications for new leads, tasks, etc. We build campaigns using the campaign builder, by far the best element of the solution. Enabled us to set up pretty solid campaigns and track results even though report features are not so strong.,It's all in one so every element of the solution is compromised. It's has bugs and they really need to hone in on development. Their sales practices are very direct. Never buy any software in a seminar and expect it to be a well though out decision. Do your research before you buy this solution. It get's expensive fast, even when they promote their red light specials. Too many pay walls in lieu of native integrations. The best practice is to make sure whomever implements you into this software has vast sales, marketing, and tech experience to ensure your success. Cookie cutter solutions don't work. It's foolish to think most if any real business owners will ever learn to run a software application like this. If you're good at making paper clips or envelopes and selling them by the billion then stick to that and plan to hire a professional and pay them at least $175 - $250 per hour. Otherwise you'll likely get a tech person pretending to be a business adviser. All software like this is only as good as the strategy, content and work flow you put into it. Garbage in, garbage out.,1,Our success is NEVER based on software. Neither is yours. Software is a tool. Your success and ours in business and life have more to do with your strategy, discipline, focus, ethics, team and overall desire to succeed no matter what. I used to be far more in favor of this solution until I got to see a number of new competitors who focus on pure automation, business intelligence, ease of use for professionals to implement, etc. The worst part about this solution is how hard they make it to import and clean list, regardless of source, and begin using the system to send emails, which is it's core function. They make it hard to do this on purpose, under the guise that it's about list integrity, deliverability, etc. And they compel recipients of emails to report you for spam on the tail end of an opt out. Yuck. Many competitors will not make it so hard! Sales and marketing uses it's minimalist cart for products, links to products so we can sell a product or service and take in the revenue through our gateway and merchant card account. Sales management/owner uses it to track limited data due to system reporting limitations, unless you went to MIT or work at NASA. Owner uses it for campaign mapping, sales activities, CRM and reports.,We keep it simple. You don't need to be Albert Einstein to know, "Everything Should Be Made as Simple as Possible, But Not Simpler." Yes, he said that. We could pay up the wazoo for a host of applications that sit behind pay walls to get innovative. We could add hours of programming to get the open API to dial in with other applications. There wasn't any real competition if you wanted all in one. We migrated from ACT and iContact back in 2008. But that has all changed in recent years and Infusionsoft has the ugly reputation it has for a number of reasons. Can't live with it any longer. Today, take your time working with a real trusted adviser whom you are wiling to pay to help you make a fully informed decision based on you, your team and your business, sales and marketing goals. There are many great alternatives on the market today. Thank goodness. Solutions like this make it way easier to start, fund, market, sell, manage and scale any small business. There are tons of success stories when it comes to marketing automation campaigns for both B2B and B2C. There are also tons of train wrecks regardless of the technology solution. You can't go into any of these solutions half-assed. You have to be prepared to really dig in yourself, ask if this is the best and most productive use of your time and determine at what point you need to hire outside or in house talent you can really trust to take the lead. Beyond that, it's a buggy system so everyone is scrambling behind the scenes when not raving about how freaking awesome their company culture is. The biggest blunder they make is telling the world how easy it is to use, selling the dream of helping really small businesses without talent or much capital, if any, that this software and their internal people can help get sales results. Like with all software, watch the hell out before you pull the trigger and NEVER buy software in a freaking seminar. If it's not setting up marketing automation applications plan on hiring a professional. The campaign builder is phenomenal. The dashboard is easy to customize for quick look stats.,The campaign builder requires serious time and training, coaching really, to get to learn it. Once you learn it it can be a game changer. There is still a learning curve, and it is steep (in my opinion-as a former teacher with no computer background) but I think it is important for users to jump in, and learn what is needed so that they understand the basics behind their application. This means spending some nights watching videos to understand how to set up your campaigns, ECOMMERCE or Affiliate Center. But everyone I know who is using the product, uses the online trainings, and finds a local user group to help them to become an expert. Your goal as a new user should be to set up your application so that you are utilizing each step of the Lifestyle Marketing Plan (Attract Traffic, Capture Leads, Nurture Prospects, Convert Sales, Deliver & Satisfy, Upsell Customers, and Get Referrals). You can always branch out from this point and other features and partners. Then when you are here, you should pay it forward and help someone new to understand the basics by explaining what it took for you to get started. We were lucky to get a great rate with Infusionsoft... we got a reduced rate from wanting to cancel and basically got a $500 monthly subscription for $130 a month! Unfortunately the reduced rate was still too expensive for the amount of time we were wasting on trying to make Infusionsoft work for us.,1,Infusionsoft overall was a time drain. We worked with John (sales rep working on retention) for a year. He gave us a 75% discount on the software, but we should have left the software earlier and not wasted our time. Pretty useful in generating small talk. We used "My Day" the task manager list for what was due. That was the only way we were able to keep on top of people... otherwise, the information was kind of lost... Customized lists! There is NOTHING in Infusionsoft that is preset. Everything has to be developed by you and your team. So if you are looking for clients that have come to your site most recently, you will need to create a list with those specifications and then add that list to the dashboard. Just very time consuming...,We are still deciding if we can use Infusionsoft... We started at a $500 per month plan for marketing and eCommerce. Even with some promotions thrown in to keep us (now we pay less that $150) I am not sure if we will stick with it... The cost to create a working system is so high... Other than marketing, Infusionsoft offers eCommerce. We tried to integrate this in, but there are just too many fantastic services out there like Shopify with better layouts that lead to higher sales... Again, it was a bit of a time drain trying to incorporate the eCommerce in to the picture... We never really used it after trying for a few months. Content Site. Did you know Infusionsoft offers another product that hosts your digital content that you sell to your clients. If you sell pdf's or instructional products via prerecorded video, then you should take a look at Infusionsoft because it incorporates this site into Infusionsoft. Infusionsoft will assist you in following up with your leads and customers via a string of automated emails. Email deliverability is excellent compared to other providers. You can segment your database in a highly effective manner so that prospects, leads and customers only receive the information that they are looking for. If you have companies that are interested in selling your products/services for a commission, Infusionsfot provides a highly organized process for accomplishing this. Your affiliates will be able to track their leads, sales, and the amount of traffic they are sending to your website. They provide a simplistic method of creating a shopping cart on your site so you can begin to offer online products/services. Lead management is handled efficiently via online reminders, the ability to score leads, the ability for management to monitor and track the lead through the pipeline (i.e. from when it first comes in to when the sale is consummated or there is no sale). You have the ability to perform most basic accounting functions within your Infusionsoft account, and the rest can be linked to your account through one of their add-on services.,The email builder is an absolute disaster and no signs of improvement are on the horizon. Be prepared for numerous bugs if you use it. Although it's a pain I would recommend working with one of their partners who focus solely on email templates. The cost will be worth forgoing the pain you experience in trying to deal with the problems that arise.,9,Back in 2008, 98% of our business was conducted offline. We recognized that a change needed to be made and we shifted our business model to the point that we are now generating 25% of our revenue online. While there were numerous other factors at play (website redesign, social media, new employees) the primary reason that we were successful in this transition was Infusionsoft As a small company, we do not have the time or the resources to have a significant inside sales force to sell our products and services. Infusionsoft's powerful follow up processes act as a sales rep. Buyer beware. Be prepared to invest many hours if you plan to manage this application yourself. This is true of any automation solution. Can you take classes and go to University again and become a great marketing automation expert yourself? Yes, probably. But should you be investing your highest and most productive use of time building out Infusionsoft. Not likely.

Which means you need to plan on finding someone you can trust and that is the plain truth. There are many qualified consultants who have sufficient sales, marketing, business, content, life and Infusionsoft experience to help you get results. But far too many people decry this as an all in one solution that is easy to use. This will never be the case even though the product development team is constantly working to make it a better product and easier to use.

We don't make our own paper clips for a reason. We outsource all the time. We have to make really informed decisions on the solutions we use and then commit to learning best practices for marketing regardless of the platform.

Do not expect to pay someone less than $150-$250 per hour to really make this application sing. Or pay them for training or internal services and then kick yourself.

We really tried to love Infusionsoft... we even were given a much reduced rate after we tried to cancel... $150 vs $500!) But even that didn't keep our attention. We moved on to Salesforce and look forward to real sales in our B2B atmosphere and will add Pardot later on even though it is 2x the price... it is worth it!

It is easier to use (and implement) than when we first signed on four years ago; however, there is still a learning curve, particularly for those who are inexperienced with database marketing.

Don't buy into it expecting someone to hold your hand, but they will guide and support you to where you need to go.
