We use Sage Intacct as our system of record for accounting. Sage Intacct allows us to have tighter control over user permissions, better reporting capabilities, and the ability to integrate with many other SaaS tools to automate many of our processes.
  • Dimension reporting makes it really easy to keep a streamlined chart of accounts and still be able to slice and dice the data in many ways.
  • Sage Intacct's marketplace partners has allowed us to integrate with many tools to automate many of our processes.
  • AP approvals rules are limited when compared to other products. Even when compared to the approval rules available in Intacct's Purchasing module, AP approval capabilities are quite limited.
  • Prepaid module is okay to use but it outdated and needs a UI refresh. The pages are not as intuitive as it could be and populating the fields are clunky.
As our company scales and moves towards becoming a public company, audit controls are extremely important and Sage Intacct does a very good job of setting custom user/role permissions. The dimensions in Intacct are also well suited for our company as we have multiple departments and cost centers. Dimensions allowed us to trim our chart of accounts but still allow us to slice and dice data in ways we couldn't do previously in our old accounting system.

  • More easy of interaction when it comes to view client details
  • Dashboard show monthly sales
  • More detail in the sales invoicing
I think for a small home based business Sage Intacct won't be feasible, however when expanding Sage Intacct can expand with your business.

I use Sage to track all the monthly financial activities. So there is a lot of entries I am posting in Sage on a monthly basis.
The problems that Sage addresses for me is being able to easily correct an entry if it was posted wrong. The Edit feature saves a lot of time and allows the data to look cleaner rather having voided entries on the reports.
  • Journal Entries
  • Customizable Reports
  • A/P
  • Even though the reports are customizable I wish it was easier to pull P&L for any unique date range
  • For Bank Reconciliation I like seeing the Debit and Credits all on page instead of having to use the filter buttons
  • Also on Bank Reconciliation I like to see what had already been matched still on the same page as the unmatched ones but still have the option to filter them off of course but sometimes being able to see it all on one page instead of filtering back and forth
Well suited for many journal entries and being able to research entries are easy.

Not well suited for pulling P&L for unique dates without having to add in special reporting

My organization uses Sage to maintain our accounting records and financial statements. We are a medium sized business with several accounts and entities, and Sage has been implemented to provide a capable and accurate system for us to maintain our books.

Personally, I utilize Sage for Accounts Payable. Coming from a non-finance background and working at a non-profit organization with many funding sources and departments, I have found Sage Intaact to have a moderate learning curve. Overall, the system offers many capabilities, but is not very intuitive. Small tweaks to the system based on customer feedback would make working within the software more efficient and useful.
  • Ability to export data in various formats
  • Sorting functions
  • Custom views
  • Detailed explanations when "errors" are generated in various environments such as uploads and invoice entry (currently the details provided don't seem to end up matching what the issue actually is and are not clear in terms of how to resolve/proceed)
  • No ability to merge duplicate vendors
  • Lacking option to "post" multiple bills in draft state, must do individually which takes a lot of time each week when we pay bills
Sage seems to be more appropriate for larger, corporate type companies that are focused on purchasing with limited funding sources and grant requirements. As a nonprofit user, the system is very finance oriented, which isn't as approachable when trying to outsource/train certain tasks to our various departments.

  • Order Managment
  • Easier reversal process
  • Less down time
Sage Intacct is a easy to navigate website that is able to be personalized based on your daily tasks. It is very appropriate for an IT company accounting system to be able to distribute different kinds of orders accordingly.

I use Sage Intacct to submit Purchasing requests. if the request is denied then I have to come back and edit the requisition in order to be resubmitted and send over to the correct person in the chain of command. some of the issues will be the Page timing out before you can submit the request. other times it does not allow the attachment to load.
  • easy to navigate
  • pre saved information.
  • nice page layout
  • the timing out of the page
  • better system to be able to open it from any browser.
  • being able to create archives
When submitting the requisition, I like that you are able to use pre-saved information available for you to use. But what I don't like is when I get busy and work on something else like taking a phone call and when i come back the page froze and i have to start all over again.

We use Sage Intacct for financial management & accounting. Intacct increased our efficiently by automating processes - accounts receivable, general ledger management, and financial reporting. Intacct streamlines financial workflows, reduces manual errors, and improves overall accuracy. We use reporting and analytics - this allows us to generate customized financial reports, track key performance indicators, and gain deeper insights into our financial performance.
  • Customizable financial reporting
  • Multi-dimensional general ledger structure
  • Integration to 3rd party AP automation

We use Sage Intacct for all accounting, AP, and AR functions. AP/AR automation, GL entry automation, and ease of reporting are all issues that the product addresses.
  • Easy to perform journal entries
  • Reporting module is really good
  • I like the dashboard capabilities
  • Integration with google apps (sheets, Looker Studio)
  • While the reporting module is good, an ad hoc option would be good.
  • We have vendors that are also customers. I would be good if there were an easier way to link those and either bill or collect based on the net amount due/owed.
I have suggested this product to multiple former colleagues. The ease of performing accounting functions (journal entries, bank reconciliations, financial reporting) make it very valuable.

Sage Intacct is used as our complete accounting software. We started using Intacct in Jan 2024 and i use it in my role as assistant accountant to assist with month end prep, bank reconciliation and accruals/prepayments. The duplicate and reverse journal entries is massively helpful as it cuts out a lot of the manual correction time that was required previously.
  • Bank reconciliation with the automatic bank feeds
  • Journal duplication
  • Reversals
  • ease to unallocate applied payments in accounts payable
  • Handling of intercompany payments seems a little difficult
  • Menu options being able to be set to a default e.g. 'Inception to date' has to be selected every time on a customer/supplier account
The ability to use adjustments/reversals means a lot of the tedious correction work that was done by manually journaling items is no longer required. The UI is fairly straightforward and similar to a lot of other accounting packages meaning the move from our previous provider has been simple as the menus are intuitive

We use Sage Intacct for the general ledger of our clients that we asset manage. We record all journal entries, bill, invoices, payments and transactions through Sage Intacct. We also load our budget and produce budget v actual reports.
  • Customization of accounts/ledgers for each client
  • maintains approval matrix for journal entires
  • easy to search transactions/activity
  • Better integration with other software
Well suited for general ledger software for small to midsized companies. May not be ideal for large corporations

We use Sage Intacct as our accounting platform and are developing the automatic reporting that gets emailed out on a regular basis to our project managers so they do not have to go in and run their required reports.
  • Integrations with other platforms
  • Ability to look at data in different ways
  • The use of dimensions to create additional subsets
  • Some of the custom reports and the ability to get to specific fields
  • The complex computations with subtotals and sorting by dimensions could use some improvement
  • The ease of the integrations with other platforms
It just depends on what the colleague was looking for and trying to accomplish.

We use Sage Intacct to maintain the accounting for our operations. While we utilize other platforms all of the AR/AP, period, fiscal flows into Sage Intacct. The system allows for all of AR/AP to be in a centralized location with attachments. The option to add customized fields allows for better organization. However the bill approval process is lacking in customization and is limited. This is a problem with dimensional accounting.
  • Applying vendor deposits against bills and accounting for it correctly
  • applying intercompany credits against customers accounts
  • processing 1099 forms
  • Bill approval process lacks customization as it is limited to 3 types of approval policies, 2 of which are the same except one includes value. Once turned on it allows to all vendor bill across the board with not being able to limit by vendor or location
  • PO approval process could be easier to setup, the is no option to import the GL item groups so mapping has to be done individually and depending on the number of items can take a long time in each transaction type
  • Unable to edit voided transactions, so if a bill is reversed in 2022 and payment voided in 2023 the bank reconciliation will be off until 2023. There is no way to correct this
Dimensional accounting, accounting for multiple locations where coding is necessary. I would not recommend for e-commerce or sales related. This is more for operational accounting where when utilized with other platforms will work really well. The easy to learn the system is great and the help on this page actually provides helpful information. The smart rules, smart events help section could use some improvements

We use Sage Intacct to pull data into our system and generate optimised cash flow mechanisms, allowing users to track inflows and outflows better and suggest ways to improve and forecast cash flow. We use Sage Intacct as part of our AP and AR automation where we help users to strategically plan and optimise working capital.
  • The documentation is self explanatory most of the times, helps in understanding the entity better
  • The help section is very useful when it's difficult to create any transaction
  • The categorisation is clear and concise, I use AP,AR, GL mostly
  • I also liked the UI part
  • Sometimes its difficult to understand why a particular transaction is failing, and the error information may not be understandable. This could be done better
  • documentation which has the error codes and relevant solutions to resolve that could be a feature i would suggest
Sage Intacct is well suited for most companies as it is beginner friendly and with right learning time usable by anyone. It is well suited for companies where there is a hierarchy of users as each user has a particular role and clearly defined permissions. The employee expenses allows the employee information to be tracked better and this is something crucial for most companies.

Sage Intacct does well with inventory control! We have inventory in over 100 locations that needs to be tracked and valued and any adjustments and transfers that we need to make are very easy to initiate within the Inventory Control module. Reporting on inventory has been very helpful for me to give to other managers in the company to aid their decision making.

We are the corporate office that processes all of the financial information for the 30+/- companies that our boss has either complete or partial ownership in. Having something that keeps all of our financials on the same platform and all accessible so easily is a huge thing for us. Being able to compare everything in one place and have it all be consistent in the account numbers, names, processes, etc., makes everyone's lives so much easier.
  • They're constantly evolving and growing
  • Interest in what their customers want, need, and would like to see
  • Seamlessness of updates and upgrades, without downloads
  • More "in your face" notice of added features that require being added to a user profile
  • Clearer explanations of what is needed on importing sheets
  • Go back to emailing office hours recaps for people that attended or signed up to attend
For our size and diversity in different fields, Sage Intacct is amazing for us. We have different divisions from Materials to Entertainment, Recreation and Real Estate and the companies are located in multiple states. The information we process comes from various sources and types of programs, but Sage Intacct makes it easy to get everything in the system by having pre-defined import spreadsheets that we can just fill in our information on and upload it. These are things that we used to manually enter back when we were with Quickbooks. Plus, not having to sign into a different company every 10 minutes made us all so much more efficient. That's something that I think would be a great deciding factor when debating if Sage Intacct is right for a company that is perusing their options.

We use Sage Intacct as our general ledger. We switched to it so that we could use a modern cloud-based accounting system. We wanted to be able to integrate to other systems, which Sage Intacct is able to do with many different third-parties. We use its electronic approvals to help us track where purchase orders and AP bills are, which is much better than when we were doing it by paper. We were also able to improve our fixed asset tracking by using a module in the software instead of Excel.
  • Document attachments
  • Integrations
  • Dimensions
  • Reporting could be more flexible
  • Vacation delegation for AP Bills
  • Budgeting and forecasting was too simple for our use
Sage Intacct is good if you want a cloud-based system with a lot of integration possibilities. Sage Intacct is also very useful for being able to edit history while also having the audit trail on what edits were made. Sage Intacct may not work well if you have very complex reporting needs, but you would most likely be able to use a third-party add on to help with that if needed.

Sage Intacct really streamlines the entire accounting experience, with most of the complexity being behind the scenes. It removes almost all possibility for error by having most of the complexity hidden in the form of vendors and accounts. This also drastically reduces the work load for those using it, since most of the information auto fills. It also makes all of your financial information centralized and easily accessible.
  • Centralized Data
  • Simplicity
  • Customization
  • Search feature is not very good
  • Sage University helps but a lot of the videos are repetitive and overlap in information
  • A better online help forum would be nice
Sage seems more well suited for a larger scale multi entity corporation and less suited for a smaller business. It helps to simplify a lot of things that would be hard to manage with multiple entities. Overall, I think it is great software, just not for a single entity business.

I use Sage Intacct to make recurring journal entries. I run monthly, quarterly and annual reports to aid in my financial report preparation for the relevant periods. I use Sage Intacct to enter journal entries into the system and run financial reports for our clients. We use Sage Intacct to help with private equity fund administration for our clients. One thing that could be updated in Sage Intacct to help would be to gives cells the ability to drag down the same values while entering journal entries. For instance, when posting a journal entry that has multiple lines, I must type in the fund that it is associated for each line. If I could drag that cell down similar to how excel drags a formula down it would save time.
  • Duplication of journal entries
  • Automation of running reports
  • Functionality in journal entries
  • ability to easily make some cells the same while entering journal entries
I've only worked in two or three accounting departments but Sage Intacct is definitely the best software I have yet to use. It seems great for managing the books of a large corporation and has a lot of great functionality already available. I would definitely recommend Sage Intacct to other people looking for an accounting software.
