We use Sage Intacct to enter & pay invoices, entering bills & adjustments on a daily/weekly basis. It helps keep record of payments and well and good but sometimes you have to jump through hoops to key a new vendor and the system limitations won't permit this at the bill entry level.
  • Being able to locate payments statuses and having record of original invoice is nice
  • I think being able to make necessary payments based off payment type is pretty straight forward once you get the process down
  • For us, the instructional videos go a long way and would recommend more of those
  • In my experience, sometimes you have to reenter information as it doesn't save on initial entry
  • Having a more customizable page for each entity you're working in would be helpful
  • I would like to be able to consolidate or have a custom version that has your most used services all together
I think it's well suited for record keeping and creating the necessary files to make payments. To have a more simplified coding system for employers not needing excess coding.

We use Sage Intacct for accounting-related activity for internal and also for Client accounting too. We also do other activities like booking income and expenses and also we use for employees time entry related activities for some of the departments.
  • Accounting
  • Database
  • Integration
  • Time entry
  • For creating dashboard
Sage Intacct worked as ERP where we can track all accounting related activities where all the things are integrated to each other and where all the business operations things we handle it very smoothly. Here we wont able to create professional dashboard of different reports instead we need to download reports from Sage Intacct and need to create dashboard in other applications.

We use Sage Intacct to manage purchase approvals by setting up systems for supervisors and managers to allow for input in purchasing decisions. This way we ensure there is an approval process that withstands any donor complaints or requests as well as Audits where we need to ensure our approvals are sufficiently rigorous.
  • Approval pipeline
  • distinct categories for donors and programs
  • detailed but agile
  • attachments are all or nothing when in draft form and require reuploading
  • additional ways to tag other than comments
Sage Intacct works well when there are lots of leadups and the approval process can be somewhat extended, but it is not a fast program to use and email tends to be better when the processes are more urgent.

We use Sage Intacct in conjunction with Salesforce for our Accounting needs. Salesforce and Sage Intacct are used strictly for Accounts Receivable/Billing purposes. We also use the Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Budget and Order Entry functionalities that also assist with our current Financial Planning & Analysis processes. We also utilize the Reporting function for our reporting needs at accounting month end.
  • Clean interface
  • Minimalist interface
  • Easy navigation
  • issues between Sage Intacct and integration with Salesforce specially with billing

I use Sage Intacct for all accounting functions including journal entries, financial reporting, fixed assets, prepaids, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger. I use the product daily. It addresses reporting issues and general accounting issues such as reconciliations. There are definitely limitations when it comes to the financial reporting, though.
  • I love the dimension balance report, it adds another layer to reconciling accounts.
  • The account, location, department grouping ability make building custom reports much easier.
  • Overall Sage Intacct is user friendly and easy to navigate, which makes training new staff easier.
  • The running balance on the general ledger could just be a line item balance with a total balance at the bottom. The running balance creates confusion for a lot of people.
  • Within the reports, you can't distinguish between revenue and expense variance items. For example if the calculation you run for variance is budget - actuals, that only works for expenses.
  • Even though there are smart rules created they don't apply to automated modules such as accounts receivable. I've had employees enter in invoices without certain dimensions, and this excludes them from financial reporting. If there are smart rules set up that entries can not be posted without certain dimensions, that should apply to EVERYTHING.
I'm indifferent because while Sage Intacct is user friendly, there are still pieces that could be improved. I mentioned the smart rule scenario and how it can be overwritten in certain modules, and this in my opinion is a huge flaw. There is also an issue with duplicating locations. We use the location duplication tool to create new locations so that the info you need is already input. When you do this, it changes all of the prior locations to the new location created. This has really created a mess for us and the solution given to us was to stop duplicating items. Why even offer that feature? This in itself is reason enough for me not to want to recommend Sage intacct.

Sage Intacct is a quick and easy solution for small and medium-size businesses. As this is cloud based application, I think it will be affordable to many start ups. This helps in quick reporting and financials and easy integration with many workflows makes it more effective. Sage Intacct is a very good accounting solution package used in our organization for accounting services to our Clients business. There are many features and options to streamline your accounts payable. I have been using many ERP's in my 15 years career and this was the fastest and best.
  • Easy navigation and report to check the outstanding payables
  • Quick appraoch to manage vendor master data
  • Reclass of financial transaction through Journal to make the financials accurate as per the Client requirement.
  • Flexible Chart of accounts to make financials more insighful
  • One vendor can be connected to multiple addresses when integrated with any workflows which helps to avoid any duplicate vendors.
  • Limited audit trails on payments and bills processed to trace the information.
  • Quick instructions on every page to understand how to use this page to user to make it more easy to use and adopt the Intacct.
I think Sage Intacct is very much suitable for small and mid size businesses and also startups. In my opinion, this helps them to quickly make decisions and ramp up their business growth. No need to spend a huge amount on storage of data. I t hink this also helps manage the working capital management effectively which is a need of hour for the business which are growing at a faster pace.

Sage Intacct is used to prepare custom financial reporting packages per client needs. Training is offered on Sage Intacct functionality and troubleshooting. Other primary uses include Accounts payable and accounts receivable management; General ledger management; cash management and budgeting. Sage Intacct streamlines these functions for our clients in an intuitive manner.
  • Cash Management
  • General Ledger Management
  • Financial Reporting
  • Simplified Budgeting
  • Simplified report writing
  • More resourceful forums for quick troubleshooting
Sage Intacct may not be the best option for smaller businesses due to cost and complexity. Any business otherwise would be a great candidate for Sage Intacct. Our current client base on Sage Intacct consists of restaurant and nonprofit organizations, and the software is able to perform all functionalities necessary for course of business. Sage Intacct also integrates well with other programs.

We use Sage Intacct for AP, AR, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliations and Financial Reporting. Sage Intacct addresses issues related to having vendor invoices in the cloud and being able to drill down from GL up to invoice level. Financial Reporting is not that great in Sage Intacct though. It does not round numbers accurately. The formulas on a financial statement are independent of each other. Hence if a line is incorrect, you will not be able to identify it easily, unless you check each and every line.
  • Having the different approval levels and assigning the task to the relevant manager. Eg: We are able to assign all bank related journal entries to the Manager, Treasury and Bank Reconciliations. All AP related are assigned to the Manager, Accounts Payable. We did not have this function in Sage 300 which we used earlier.
  • We are able to drill down at the GL level which takes us to the invoice.
  • We can attach all backup related to a journal entry in the system itself. This makes it easy for whoever is viewing or approving, without having to look elsewhere.
  • Sage Intacct does not round accurately. It rounds anything less than 0.5 up and more than 0.5 down. The general form is usually other way round. Would like to see this being changed.
  • The help feature is not easy to understand. Would prefer having short videos or easy to understand explanations on a particular feature.
  • The Report Writer is not straightforward. It is based on account groups. If a new account is created which is not in that range in the group, it will not pick up on the report.
  • If there is an error on the financial statement formula, there is no way to tell if the statement is accurate or not by just looking at it at the high-level. You have to reconcile each line to the TB to ensure the entire statement is accurate.
Sage Intacct is well suited for a small to medium sized organization. It might not be relevant for a very large public corporation. I currently use it in the Non-Profit organization. Hence I do not know much about how it would work for other industries. The AP function is easier to use.

It has helped us streamline all of our processes into one application and the support has been outstanding throughout the entire process. Every single day we learn more and more things that Sage Intacct can do, and we cannot wait to explore all of the features.

I use it to manage Accounts Receivable, create and send bill to locals and affiliates, apply and track payments. Also to create adjustments like debit/credit memo as needed. What I like most about it is the ease of doing AR functionalities. To me, it is user friendly and has the help page section which immediately gives the user access to get a quick guide and information to problems/questions encountered in the use of Sage Intacct.
  • creation of bills by volume through upload
  • Help on the page section
  • the ability to customize functionalities according to user needs
  • I find the creation of custom reports help page hard to follow - in the sense that actual finished report does not meet the expectation.
  • The old format of receive payment screen which Sage Intacct intends to phase out is more useful to my end, I use the new one but I like the format of the old view better.
  • In the creation of the Statement of Account I hope there are more options - like Show only those bills with open balance; Show only credit memos available or a combination of both. Right now there are only 4 available - see below
  • Show all transactions
  • Show all but reversed payments
  • Show affiliates and others with no balance if activity occurred
  • Show affiliates and others flagged as inactive if activity occurred
In my opinion, Sage Intacct is best suited for multi coded transactions. Also suited for less staff departments. I think it also well suited for those using accounting users working remotely. I could not think of any scenario where it is less appropriate.

Sage Intacct is a very good accounting application used in our Organization for accounting solutions to our Clients. In my opinion, the application is very user friendly and help in fixing the financial statements very effectively and help our Clients to maintain their books very transparently with accurate information and improve the Credibility in the market.
  • Reclassification of entries through GJ to make the financials accurate as per the Client requirement
  • Multiple reports can be extracted at Sub-ledger level to do the analysis.
  • The GL Posting date and Payment date cannot be altered once the transaction is complete with the "Paid" Status which is good with respect to control but sometimes it will impact the financial review on the negative side as well. I think there should be an edit option given to the top level users at least to get them fixed.
Ithink the application is suitable for all Mid and Small Business to handle the accounting solutions which is helpful for the Business to take the decision on a timely basis and will help them to shape their business in a better way in the competitive market. The Business which has the Financial Statement with more accuracy help them to get more loans and advances to expand their business well and do more business.

I use Sage Intacct in my role as a technical accountant to pull financial reports for quarter and year end reporting. I also use reporting for financial analysis. I have used other ERPs that do not have as user friendly reporting capabilities.
  • Pulls and compares data easily.
  • Easy inputs for journal entry and attaching support.
  • Creates a Statement of Cash Flows for you.
  • It could expand some drill down capabilities.
I believe that Sage Intacct is well suited for growing companies, it provides great functionality and it is extremely user friendly. The reporting tools are simple and useful. Best of all, it accommodates to your growing business needs.

Sage is our company ERP. We use the core functionality, as well as the advanced revenue recognition features. Sage solves for our ASC 606 needs by streamlining the revenue recognition and billing processes, making month-end close and reporting seamless.
  • Advanced revenue recognition through revenue recognition templates.
  • Dimensional reporting.
  • Dashboarding & KPI scorecards.
  • The prepaids module is clunky and burdensome to work in.
  • The fixed assets module is clunky and burdensome to work in.
  • I would like to see the ability to create financial reports to be more dynamic and user friendly.
Sage Intacct is incredibly user friendly, intuitive, and easy to master. It has enabled our company to utilize a range of dimensions to slice and dice our reporting for our FP&A team that would otherwise be done in Excel.

Sage has really simplified our reporting process. There is no shortage of reports I can run. I can also automate reports to go out to different people which has been helpful. We also utilize the project tool so that we can track our costs by project. This has saved our technology officer a lot of time and hassle.
  • Project tracking
  • Reports
  • Dimensions
  • I don't fully understand all of the tools they have to offer.
  • Some of the reporting can be complex
  • Changing the user setting for one individual was challenging
I like that you can synch Sage Intacct to a lot of different platforms. We have synched Sage Intacct to our bank website and ADP which has resulted in a large amount of time and expense savings. We are looking to add more synchs in our future starting with Certify.

The product is fairly easy to use. It is much like other accounting systems which you can use for bookkeeping, purchasing, etc. Our company mainly uses it to maintain the books of our clients and to manage their finances through the AP/AR function. What is good about it is that it you can sync it to other systems to auto-generate the accounting entries.
  • Uploading JE
  • Sync with other systems
  • Good for companies with multiple entities
  • Searching for a particular entry within a long compounded JE
  • Auto logout is irritating
I think Sage Intacct is good for businesses with multiple entities and multiple locations. The produced reports are easy on the eyes. In my opinion, it is also fairly easy to use so training others to use it won't be an issue.

In our organization, we utilize Sage Intacct over QuickBooks because it offers superior customization, notably the ability to create our own dimensions. It effectively addresses intricate financial management needs. However, Sage Intacct has challenges: data exportation is cumbersome, documentation on table joining is sparse, and with Fivetran, it doesn't capture deletions efficiently.
  • Multi-Dimensional General Ledger
  • Automated Revenue Recognition
  • Scalable Cloud Infrastructure
  • Documentation and User Guides
  • Data Export and Integration
  • Issues with Data Syncing using Connectors
Situations Where Sage Intacct is Well Suited:Complex Financial Reporting Needs: For organizations that require detailed and multi-dimensional financial reporting, Sage Intacct's ability to tag transactions with various dimensions (like departments, projects, or locations) allows for granular reporting and more nuanced financial insights.Compliance with Revenue Recognition Standards: Businesses that need to comply with intricate revenue recognition standards like ASC 606/IFRS 15 will find Sage Intacct's automated revenue recognition tools incredibly beneficial. This is especially true for SaaS or subscription-based companies.Multi-entity and Global Organizations: Sage Intacct offers robust capabilities for companies operating with multiple entities, subsidiaries, or in different currencies. The software can easily consolidate financials across these entities and handle various currency conversions.Situations Where Sage Intacct Might be Less Appropriate:Small Businesses with Basic Needs: For small businesses or startups with straightforward financial needs, Sage Intacct might be an overkill. The software's extensive features and relatively higher cost might not justify the investment for companies just looking for basic bookkeeping.Heavy Dependence on Third-party Integrations: Organizations that rely extensively on a multitude of third-party tools and expect seamless integrations might encounter challenges. While Sage Intacct does offer integrations, its data exporting challenges and potential syncing issues, as mentioned earlier, could pose problems.Self-reliant Troubleshooters: Companies that prefer to solve software-related challenges internally, relying on available documentation, might find Sage Intacct's current documentation insufficient. They'd need to often reach out to customer support or seek external expertise.

We use Sage Intacct to aggregate all financial transactions utilizing several dimensions. The reporting tool has allowed us the ability to provide department specific reports used all through out the organization. Though only utilized by us few accountants, it enables us to push reports to all of our corporate employees by a simple subscription.
  • Product specific P&L reporting
  • Paying vendors through ACH or Checks
  • Keeping track of AR with advanced reporting and payment application
  • Allowing for duplication of Transaction line items
  • More simplified UI
  • Better mobile site
I believe midmarket companies with Revenue under 250M and no more than 10 product lines is best suited for Sage Intacct.

I work in Accounts Payable, so I am mainly familiar with the Accounts Payable and Purchasing modules in Sage. We have about 800-900 bills per month, many of which go through a PO process and some that do not. Some of our bills are also posted as fixed assets and so I have a tiny bit of experience with the Fixed Asset module in Sage as well.<br><br>Sage is mostly ok but has a few things that I think could be improved upon. First of all, their attachment system for attaching files such as PDFs, emails, Excel sheets, etc. to the transactions is very weird and confusing. What Sage refers to as an "attachment" is different than what most people think of when they think of an attachment. Most people would think of an attachment as a single file, such as PDF, that gets attached to an email in Outlook. This is not the case in Sage. In Sage, attachments are really more like folders in a Windows file system, and each attachment can hold multiple files. Furthermore, using the Duplication feature (which we use a lot) can result in duplicating the attachment across multiple transactions and inadvertently linking many transactions and their files, which can be very bad when a user thinks they are deleting a file from one transaction and not realizing they are deleting that file from ALL transactions that share that same attachment.<br><br>There are also issues with conversion from one step of the PO process to the next, and if things are not converted properly, it can cause errors and cause transactions to get stuck in a certain step which can require help from Sage support (who, even then, can not fully get rid of the transaction, but merely close it out).Creating custom reports is not easy as the fields that you want to select in the custom report creation screen are not always named the same as in the module where you normally see them. You have to guess and check a whole lot, and there are 10 options for something like "Vendor Name" under different sections of the report creation screen and only one of them will actually output anything and the rest output a blank column.<br><br>When looking back at fixed asset details in an AP transaction, the Asset Class is only shown as a series of random numbers instead of what you originally selected, so it makes it difficult to refer back to previous transactions to see what you did previously.<br><br>Sage does not allow you to filter and sort by custom dimensions, and this is a really big flaw. For instance, our transactions have a custom dimension called "Location" (as we have a bunch of different physical locations) and if we have a vendor that we use at all of our locations, it's impossible to filter for only one location if we are looking for an invoice from only a certain location.<br><br>Overall, it's not the worst software I've ever used, but certainly could use some improvement.
  • The % wildcard functionality is helpful for when you only want to search for part of something (vendor name or invoice number, for example, if you don't know the full name or invoice number)
  • Support has usually been good about getting back to me and being helpful in their resolution
  • Adding vendors is pretty straight forward
  • Applying credits to transactions when paying bills could be easier. You have to drill down into the credit amount in order to apply a certain credit memo to a certain invoice. Otherwise, Sage will decide which credit(s) to use for you and it may result in only part of a credit memo being used.
  • Adjusting 1099 amounts could be easier. You can only select a starting amount for the year instead of entering the exact 1099 amount that you want.
  • Needs a way to search credit card transactions (in the Credit Card Transactions section) and AP transactions that were paid by credit card in one search. Currently have to search in two places and the credit card transaction section uses "Payee" and the AP section uses "Vendor Name".
I would say that if you are doing the same things over and over and don't need a ton of functionality or don't plan on expanding your business, then maybe Sage would work well for you. However, for large corporations that have different entities, many credit card users, multiple locations, and complex 1099 situations, etc., a more flexible and robust software may be better.

For AP, AR, Forecasting, Reports Etc. We use it to look at our overall finances and help make financial decisions.
  • AP Management
  • Top Level Environment
  • AR Management
  • Having multiple log ons between the different sage environments is hard to navigate (University vs Intacct)
We are in the beginning stages of using Sage at this current company but integration has been pretty simple.

I'm a Sage Intacct consultant and I implement the product for my clients. I use Sage Intacct to streamline my client's day to day activities such as accounting, procurement and sales on their various environments. In my opinion, Sage Intacct is especially great for its control measures, its audit trail function and the ability of dimensions to draw more specific and organised financial statements.

We were initially using excel to pull and manage lots of our data. Using Sage Intacct, its lot easier to manage our data and the financial performance has been enhanced.Financial analysis and reporting can be carried out easily to understand our business performance and growth metrics. Its also a very secure application for Finance and Accounting.
  • Dashboard Reporting
  • Revenue Allocation
  • Highly Customizable as per business needs
  • Its not compatible with all the Tax softwares
  • Not all the products are used. High Pricing is a challenge.
  • Service is good but can be improved
It is one orf the best software for managing your accounts and financials. It is the best to provide performance analysis and reporting.
